Whoa, I didn't really notice how good Link's animation on the horse looked until I saw this. Or how the sun catches the white on his undershirt.

Call me weird, but visually this reminds me a tiny bit of Kameo: Elements of Power. I think it's all the grass.

Now that's something I haven't heard in a looong time. Them IRC days.

In other parts of the videos you can even see the sun shining off the horseshoes! No joke.

Imagine how cool it would be if Link could hold on to the saddle with one hand, lean down to the side with his body, and with the other hand cut all the grass in succession.

Also: hopefully there's a person named KASUTO in this new Zelda. That was the only town name from Zelda 2 missing from Ocarina of Time.

I think Adventure of Link and Spirit Tracks are the only two Zelda games with a lot of towns. You think towns will be like AoL or ST?

One of the big problems with Skyward Sword is that it relied too much on the story(and it was really engaging to me). Even though that's not the kind of story that I want in the future Zelda games it already happened and was a great experience.

The first time I played it I thought that the game was really incredible. But my second playthrough wasn't nearly as good. I realized that the game relied too much on story to keep me interested, and in my second playthrough the story didn't offered me nothing new. So, in the second time, I "only" had the amazing combat and dungeons to satisfy me.

If the game is going to have horseback combat, they should bring in Lynels.
Fighting Lion headed Centaurs is too cool to pass up.

Tbh I disliked the slowmotion jump and sailcloth fly animation. But man, this looks awesome.

Yeah...that was janky, but this is awesome. They better nail down the consistency of the animation.

YES. But they can only be on mountains and they have to do...like...10 hearts worth of damage.

Those guys scared the crap out of me in ALttP.

NO.
Just... just NO.

Cia was the equivalent of a fangirl self-inserting herself in a Zelda fanfic but somehow didn't write herself getting the L.

Damn! I really liked Cia's character arc, I thought they did a great job taking a potentially awful character and making her cool in her own right. I liked the idea of a Seer watching the timelines getting a thing for the hero and then (ending spoilers)
ganondorf manipulating that small infatuation into an unhealthy obsession, leading to her collapsing the timeline in on itself and getting his body back for him. *Also* the fact that there was another link sometime after twilight princess who chopped ganondorf into four pieces and hid them throughout space and time is fucking crazy
I felt like she was a really strong character, tbh.

Hyrule Warriors may be my favorite Zelda story, actually

Well yeah. But most friends are more into goofing off over realizing "full potential." :\

Zelda's more like a nagging girlfriend. A really really terrible girlfriend.

Zelda was constantly goofin' in SS. You're really painting her in a light that isn't at all supported by the introductory scenes.

I've never been about protecting anyone in a Zelda game, personally. I play Zelda games to swing a sword and go to that place in the corner of the map.

I expect this game to have several towns yes.

I would like if this game finally has a person or town named Kasuto, since it was ignored in Ocarina.

Even if it looks janky right now, I really like the fact that it's FINALLY a new engine it's running on. That's the first time since Wind Waker when it comes to the Home Console Zeldas.

Speaking of Janky though, notice how this game already has better horse animations than Dragon Age Inquisition. Way to go Nintendo! Even the hairs have ragdolls which kinda reminds me of SoTC

EDIT: I like how everyone keeps saying "I wonder how X looks once Link wears the Green Tunic". Whoever said he would even do that in this game at all? I always got the impression with an entire trailer and a gameplay demo now, that this will be the first time we get a Zelda where the green tunic is not part of Link's identity.

I hope there are a few towns. Maybe not so many that they begin to lose their individual identity like AoL, but, y'know... swamp town, plains town, mountain town, spooky town. Towns filled with themes and people with hot probs.

Me too...but SS's motivation was through rewarding the player through cutscenes...not by rewarding the player with...better or new gameplay.

I dunno, I think the motivations and narrative and everything about SS was off. Left a terrible taste in my mouth.

I don't think it's a new engine. My only basis is the fact that the game retains the sailcloth, which matches both the sail cloth and the deku leaf animations.

Also, after this thread, I'm convinced I got a different copy of SS than everyone else. It's the only explanation.

why would there be a cloak item that can be toggled on and off if they're just going to go and make him green?
-The cloak isn't tied to the blue.
-It could easily just be a story reason.
No one ever said there would be a green tunic, but they never said it wouldn't be there either, right?

I really don't think Aonuma was talking about characters or story when it comes to changing conventions.

Yeah...I'd prefer quality over quantity. But the world is huge here.

I want one really really awesome town with interesting characters...

and then like...10 towns that are just whatever.

They can port codes that are working well to subsequent engines.
Based on how different is to program to a 12 years old GPU compared to recent paradigms, I can't believe they are using the same engine. But they could be sharing some assets.

But it might as well be, with all the times we've pulled out the master sword and stuff. I think it's about wanting fans to not grow tired of the franchise being too predictable. Sure a lot of the Zelda staples are still in there probably, we've already seen a few, like the fact that there are still dungeons and horseback riding and a grassy overworld akin to the ocean from Wind Waker amongst more, but I think the might as well do something interesting story-wise by not giving us the green tunic at all. Maybe we're not even playing as Link? Okay, that's enough crackpot theory from me today :-S

Not to sound rude, but I don't think the characters staying the same is really holding anything back, and I definitely don't think people, outside of GAF, would be or ever get tired of a set of clothing, I mean we've had plenty of really creative Zelda games all without changing the characters, and no one was at the gates of Nintendo complaining that MM was uncreative because Link was still wearing his tunic.

#TeamBlueTunic

destroy the patriarchy

I felt that SS was a good endcap to a lot of the series conventions. We learned about the origin of a lot of things, like the Master Sword and Ganon, so now's a good time to break out into a ton of new things.

Was it someone on here who made this?. The green tunic gonna look fresh
Wow! this looks amazing. I hope that you can equip different set of armor, like in Xenoblade (Head, Torso, Arms, Boots, Etc) but fixed sets could be sweet as well.

One minor grip i have with SS (I really LOVE that game) is that Link has the cap... Would have been awesome if he never get one cap since the origin of the iconic cap is explained in The Minish Cap.
