I meant like trailers at GDC

I thought the flips were really unnatural. Especially for young Link.

Little dude is technically a seasoned "save the world" veteran. He can do as many flips as he wants, muthefucker knows he's lvl 99.

EDIT I'm happy to admit my first death in Twilight Princess was because I did a backwards flip, as a wolf, into a bottomless abyss.
I wasn't even mad
(I was also playing drunk)
.

So during these news droughts, I often gaze at the gameplay demo, images , fan-art , or trailer to quench my thirst for discussion...I had downloaded a gif from the demo, and at certain moments, there is much more clarity then in others, and you can see a lot more details.

Just thought I would throw this out, but look at all the different kinds of foliage! the different greens, the pond with the lily pads, the varying environmental angles.
I'm Just SO excited to see these graphics when they are finished.

I started replaying Skyward sword recently and am feeling how insanley limited and linear the world is.... It's designed almost as if exploration is discouraged... (Faron woods to be exact.)

Looking at this picture, I see so much potential and a beautiful wide open space that I'm excited to explore!

I hope the Zelda E3 trailer is great. I plan on it being my last one since I don't want to spoil everything. I watched too many trailers from Super Mario 3D World and lost some surprise when playing...

At the very least, I hope it gets a name there.

There's really nothing to worry about on either of those fronts. :)

It'll probably look like that but in 720p. If they reach any higher resolution it will either be a slideshow or a miracle haha.

You know, at first I was annoyed because this thread keeps getting bumped and I know that there's no real news to justify my inevitable click, but then...you said "pond." And for whatever reason, this is the first time I've considered the possibility of fishing in an open-world Zelda game. And that is exciting to me.

It pains me to think Aonuma has access to some 4k 60fps version of this and we'll have to wait maybe 5 years to play a 1080p remake on future hardware. I wish and pray with all my might they will announce new hardware at this E3 to play this Zelda on, or at least some kind of Wii U upgrade. I'm going to be one sorry panda if I have to play this at 720/30fps.

Not happening.

All I'm saying is, if Nintendo wants to sell me some kind of premium, limited edition higher-spec Wii U that can run Zelda at 1080/60fps for $500... hey I'm a fat whale, I'll take it...

I don't really care about 1080p/60fps shit, the Zelda series has major problems beyond that and I'd hope for once we'd get a game with a strong focus on combat and exploration rather than puzzles

Don't really know where you're going with this because Twilight Princess had fishing too and it was open world (yes, Zelda games have been open world since 1986). I doubt if there is fishing that it will be radically different.

Don't get me started on TP fishing, because i instantlly recall the terrible economy system.

Would have been so cool if fish had their value set acording to the region. Fish from one region would be for example more expensive on the others. It was such a shame that they expanded the freedom of the fishing mini game but didn't exploit the potential in a more meaningful way.

Also it was sad that they had to abandon the idea of connecting Hyrule with a main river. Imagine traveling acroos the regions in a canoe while fishing in many places.

Would love if the game detected a Wii Motion + and used it as the fishing rod item XD

Looking at the details in those screenshots, the way colors are shaded in hard blocks from dark to light. The bright colours and detailed designs. Ah it's going to be so iconic. All this detail got lost in the gameplay demo, looking at the E3 reveal and appreciating the details is really where it's at. Can't wait to see more of it. And more of our adorable new Link. :D

Well, that's an unnecessarily snarky response, Oh Zelda Guru. What's it like to be the only person who played Zelda in 1986?

I've been there from the beginning, too. And Twilight Princess is a linear game, with free-form elements such as sidequests, as has been the norm for a very long time in the Zelda series. I'm excited by the potential prospect of being able to ride up to a pond, river or grotto and cast a line without having to visit a specified fishing hole. I think it would be neat, if such a thing exists. Please excuse my excitement.

Well, next gen who can say..with all the recent "definitive" versions we could expect, new Zelda U, Xenoblade X, Bayonetta 2, etc. upgraded, but not a new Wii U, sorry Nintendo has already problems selling the current system at that price, Wii U is already the premium Nintendo system. :O

I didn't really mean to be snarky. I see lots of people saying "open world Zelda" in reference to Wii U but the series has always been open world, that's what put it on the map. Open world doesn't imply non-linearity. GTA is probably the poster boy for open world games these days I think, and it's very linear too.

I wasn't even born in 1986, but LOZ was actually a huge hit and I'm sure millions of people played it on that date.

Your idea about fishing is pretty neat. It would be cool if like, over-fishing upstream means there's very little fish available downstream and you sorta have to pick your spot for the best and most abundant catches.

That said, there's no indication if there is fishing that it will be any different than previous titles. I mean like I said this is not Zelda going open world and there isn't a radical change to the formula we know of *yet*

I hope Link doesn't wear the green tunic for most of the game. He should wear it towards the end when he becomes "the chosen one". That blue is delish.

I liked Link's flips in Majora's Mask, but I remember reading somewhere a long time ago that it was really included just to show off the capabilities of the Expansion Pak.
