Lego |OT|: Let’s build together.

Wait so they're bringing it back and remodeled it?

The OG is still on the site for $200

So fucking cool
Yup. This new one is $30 and minifig scale.

I got the old original Delorian from 2013.

This set is $230 on Amazon. This is the one I have and I thought it was pretty cool even with the simplicity.

I do like that printed windshield. LEGO SPEED tend to use a lot of stickers more than printed pieces.

Whats a good rec for a LED lighting system? I think I wanna do it for the incoming Enterprise. Seems like the kits are roughly the same (maybe even identical?) with led strips, some replaced light up blocks, etc, is there one company that stands above the rest? Also, do these usually have to be built alongside the model, or can you retrofit them later?

Never used a light kit, but I admit it does make the Enterprise look amazing. Maybe I should get one.

It's weird, I have a metric ton of Star Wars and NASA sets, but really only the Big D made me really want a light up kit. I guess the scale is just right for lights, you see it often on the show, and for Star Wars the ships are either too massive or too small and not really that lit up anyway (aside from engine glow) . But Trek ships have lots of glowy things and just the right scale for it. I can only hope that the apparent big hit of the D will get us an OG Enterprise and hopefully a Klingon Bird of Prey or something in short order.

Got the D yesterday, along with the shuttle set and 2 other freebies. I think I'm gonna wait for the lightmybricks lighting kit, which is BRUTALLY expensive but looks far and away the best, I think.

I know the final product won't look nearly as slick as that processed photo, but YOLO, right?

Indeed it looks way better than the other one which feel cheap.

It's 240 $ in the US but 179 € in Europe (240 $ is about 204 € right now), and you can get a 10% discount if you subscribe to their newsletter (you can cancel right away), so it's 157.50 € with free shipping to France, I might buy it.

I already received my Enterprise from Lego but did not start it yet.

The other plus is you can apparently still detach the saucer section. Not that I ever really intend to do that, but it is a testament to the thought they put into it.
