My fiancees and my life has been flipped upside down. Yesterday her ex husband was killed in a hit and run motorcycle crash. He ran into a suddenly stopping truck, was thrown from his motorcycle and ran over by an SUV. Both vehicles fled the scene and left 3 kids, ages 10, 8, and 5 without a dad. They spent time equally at his house and at mine. Currently they are handling it much better than me or my fiance as I have broke down crying several times already about this

Jesus, that is horrible. So sorry to hear about that.
As a single parent, I feel for you and your family. From my experience, kids all react differently to tragedy like this, and differently from how adults react. It may take some time to manifest, and some counselling may be helpful, but the support from you and your fiancée will be invaluable.
Saturn V is pretty big... i have no idea where to place it.

The only complaint i have is that it didn't come with two command and service modules (and maybe another LM too), that way one could have both the small scenery builds and a separate assembled Apollo spacecraft.

Ok, had to split in to 2 boxes. To keep things fairevery bag was emptied in to one box, mixed up and then half was scooped out and put in to the second box. So there should be a good mix in both! lolnot fair

Just received my order from Target. The box was freakin' opened!! The packaging was abysmal to day the least.
There are bags that aren't numbered. I've never seen that from official Lego boxes. Did you have blank bags with this set?

My Falcon shipped! Should probably have it Tuesday.
Sounds like they are trying to be accommodating, which is something LEGO customer service is great at.
However, I still am flabbergasted how they could have underestimated demand this much. Did nobody in management look at the message board of any major LEGO fan site in the past year, and see the amount of discussion focussed on this set? Did they not pay attention to the reaction of their own teaser tweets? Are they still underestimating the size and buying power of their AFOL communities? Surely they have the financial capacity to produce a larger number of sets, and absorb any inherent risk of overestimating demand. Some of these potential customers will return, but LEGO has to be losing money on lost sales when they are turning customers away.
LEGO needs to do better at reading and understanding their customers, and should invest some time and money on finding ways to do so.
I believe that there are only 3 unnumbered bags that contain large plates. Everything else should be in bags numbered 1 to 12.
And yes, some sets (usually larger ones) will contain an unnumbered bag or two (or three) for large plates and some large specialty elements.
At least in recent years.
Ok, phew, that's exactly how it is. That'd odd I guess, but glad to hear that is correct. I appreciate it.

Just checked out the Falcon at a Lego Store. It is freaking massive! I don't see where I could even put this thing after putting it together.

I like the tree one, lot of good little builds in that one.
The other one seems a little meh to me. I remember getting a little Christmas train free set (or at least very cheap) not too long ago that looks better than this one, and the other stuff is only vaguely Christmas-y.
Oh my. So sorry to hear. This is horrendous. Both vehicles?! Wtf. You'd think trucks wouldn't because they are so recognisable. Hit and run are the worst - whether at fault or not, it's your duty to check if anyone is hurt. It can make a difference.
All I can offer is best wishes. Hopefully whatever happens is the best it can be, considering.

However, it was the IL Warehouse that screwed up last time and didnt put my apartment number on the label and had to wait a few more days. Crossing fingers.

So I shipped my Falcon to the office thinking it'd be a weekday delivery but now it's scheduled for Saturday, so guess I need to talk to my FedEx rep and see if they can hold it for me or change the delivery to the house.

Even at my local Lego Store, it was surreal to see how incredibly NAIVE the staff there was in thinking that "only a few" AFOLs would show up for launch day in person, so they didn't even have a PLAN on how to handle more than 10 people in a line.
For what it's worth though, my buddy didn't get one because of their line shenanigans, so they compensated him MORE than adequately for not getting one. I will not say more, but suffice to say, i wish i could have traded places (and my falcon ) for the deal he got in the end lol.
That's really sad to hear. I hope that you, your fiancé and the kids are able to get through this and be there for each other.

Great news, that was actually a pretty quick restock for Lego despite it probably not feeling so. Expecting lots of building pics.
Interesting they decided to keep the set VIP only for a couple months. I don't really see how it makes much of a difference since it's a free signup that only takes a minute. Still it's an unusual move for them.

Nah, through my company I have a guy who can just mark it held or would call the driver and I'd meet him somewhere. Had to do it for a laptop before. I mean I could wait until Monday but I don't wanna.

Thanks everyone, Quoting this one just to basically say our current best guess is the two vehicles that hit him were together because the only identification on both of them was auction barcodes on the side windows according to witnesses and it was probably people who can't be seen by police in Trumps America even if they were not at fault. Considering neither car was at fault there is not really a lot of explainable reasons to leave the scene.
I received mine less than 24 hours after it was shipped.

I've been thinking about something today, what is the deal with Nexo Knights? I get that it is a "knights in the future" kind of deal but I can't wrap my head around it. Is it the current "castle" theme? For me the sets just seem loud and ugly.

It's He-Man, basically. Sci-fi + fantasy.
I've been doing a liiiittle building, fixing up a sidewalk to my entire street. I just need a few more jumpers and it's finished, and makes the entire thing even more crowded. Anyway, I needed some 1x1 tiles and couldn't find them in my big bin of tiles, so I sorted the entire thing and picked out a big pile of 1x1 variants. But they're usually so hard to track down mixed in with everything else.

Yep. It's all that they've done since the last hobbit sets for something castlesque. I know they love distinct good guys and bad guys for their action themes. I guess they thought science fantasy might make for a more dramatic cast. It also lets em sell vehicles, which maybe kids prefer to play sets?
Eugh, nothing of interest for me.
Though bb8 and speeder/trooper are both included and both excellent sets.
Was looking but got a TLBM Scuttler from Amazon for £40 instead, so that'll do me

It's a gorgeous set.
You cannot easily open the cockpit, which for me is a non issue as I don't want to play with a massive set like that anyway.

I don't recall anyone here griping about it when it was 50% off, unless you missed the deal. It was definitely worth it, and ya $150 seems like it's still a good deal for a used set with box, presuming it was cared for. At 50% off it was a steal. I think it didn't sell well because not enough people are into that ship (they are wrong).
It looks amazing with a B-Wing minifig in the seat though. Why you gonna open it anyway?

Weird too, I got a random email receipt from lego for my purchase 9/28 in Enfield CT which I never got from an online order before. Wonder if they're sending it straight from HQ?!
