Yay for more downloadable content on handhelds (I just caught that)
I hope you can download user created ones.
There's supposed to be a way to trade created levels (maybe using a wireless connection). If you could transfer the files to your PC, then you could also E-mail them or post them to a site that hosts PSP saved game files. It would be great if Sony would create an official repository for uploading and downloading user-created levels.

is there a ds version coming? that would be sweet.
It's highly unlikely, since
Lemmings is a Sony property.

It is nice the PSP is getting this game but I don't think anyone would logicaly argue that gameplay and control wouldn't be much better on the DS. Drag and dropping would be a cinch on the DS and a pain using the PSP analog nub while holding a button. Instead of scrolling where you want to go you just freakin tap it. What could be more simpler and intuitive?
Using a touch screen would be nifty, but I can also see his point. If you've ever played
Lemmings (which, by the way, doesn't use drag-and-drop at all), you'd know that on some levels (particularly the higher levels) you need pixel-perfect precision at times when clicking on a lemming. That is, if you are just one pixel off when you click, then that could mean blowing the entire level. I don't know how accurate the DS touch screen digitizer is, but if it doesn't have precision to the pixel (or if the digitizer is not calibrated properly), then you could have a tough time with a game like this.
The Lynx had an excellent version of
Lemmings, which was ported over by DMA Design themselves. I was able to complete all 120 levels using the Lynx controls, which consisted of a digital joypad and 5 buttons (A, B, Option 1, Option 2, and Pause), and the game played very well using those controls. The PSP has a digital joypad, an analog nub, and a total of 8 buttons (counting Select and Start), so there should be no problem devising a workable control scheme.
Scrolling left and right on the PSP could be accomplished using two of the buttons (or perhaps the digital joypad), and cycling through the abilities could also be done using buttons.
