I've been waiting for my new CA drivers license since fucking October. It's been what 5-6 months now? I'm on my fourth Temp License, fucking ridiculous.

Wow really? I heard about some people not getting their's but jesus. Maybe they're prioritizing them in a weird way. My regular ID was set to expire on the 11th.

The license says motorcycle. Maybe it's part of his ruthless image?

I dunno, "safe driver" totally ruins his cred. Must be an early retiree from New York fallen victim to the Florida sun.

It's not as nice looking in person, looks flat and meh.

Virginia's are pretty ballin:

The pic on the right is a transparent window with the pic on top looks real classy

I work on the state line of VA and TN, and compared to Tennessee's, Virginia's are pretty snazzy.

Nebraska has some short people if the guy is 5'1" and girl is 4'9".

Edit: They are fat as hell too.

Edit 2: And the guys eye color is DIC while the girls is Pink. Nice.

Apparently there was a "mistake" on mine so they had to reprint it and send some paperwork up to Sacramento.. At least, that's what i was told the last time I called. They also said that it would be the last time I would have to call in because he pretty much guaranteed I would get my license before my current temp expires. So here i am 3 weeks until i need a new temp and still no sign of my license..

What did you search to get that? All the ones on google image search seemed to be old, bad quality, and had real names on it. =\

"tennessee drivers license" on google. It was on some local tv station lol

I guess I won't be partaking in the sampling then ;).

Oh c'mon! That's a 10 in this state!

It don't look too nice here, either. Was it made in Microsoft Project?

Yeah, I mean, it looks even shittier in person. It actually looks like a fake ID, all the protection stuff is very plain and meh.

California's new licenses look terrible. There are too many distractions.
It actually looks pretty plain in normal light. Most of the extra stuff you see there are only visible in specific conditions. You would know that if you, I dunno, read the captions. ;P

So I got one of those new California Drivers Licenses. Pretty cool, here's a pic explaining the new flashiness:

Love the golden gate graphic on the back.[/QUOTE]

Loving the golden gate, too. And I get the Yosemite and redwood images but what's up with the Hokusai block print in the lower right-hand corner?

Not that I'm complaining but what is it commemorating? California's internment of the Japanese during WWII?

Dunno, I thought it just might be a nod to being coastal. I also noticed a monarch butterfly on there just now. Just keep findin' shit lol.

so far Maryland is the hottest, and wtf at Eddie Guerrero!?

edit

Although that's a bad example, since that one is for driving purposes only and not identification. The ID-only ones are red bars instead. I think those are examples of the driver licenses illegal immigrants get.
lol, they use him as an illegal immigrant example

The old ones were nicer.

It's interesting to see. I notice most if not all of the American State driver licences people are smiling. In Ontario we are asked not to smile while taking our photo. In Canada we are fun haters :/

I actually had a person at the DMV make me retake my picture because she thought I could smile better.

The thing is that most of these new IDs all over the world look like shit on photo but when you see them in real life they actually look kinda cool with all transparent and glowing shit.

A lot of those American ones look way too busy or ugly, but I love the idea of vertical ones. Too bad you gotta be provisional or under 21 to get those.

every time i need to show my id out of state, someone has to comment about the transparent window ... i guess tsa agents are easily impressed

It seems like all the new license designs are being made by those who make movie posters. They're all orange and blue now.

Arizona wins because you don't have to renew it until you're too old to drive anymore. Maybe it's some brilliant tactic to accomplish just that; Keep old people off the roads. I wonder how well it's worked so far.

-Facial recognition technology, which will enable ICBC to compare a cardholder’s image with their existing image on file and with the corporation’s entire database of millions of images. This technology will provide strong protection against identity theft and fraud, and help prevent prohibited drivers from obtaining licences in false names.

-Counterfeit-prevention devices like holographic overlays and laser-engraving or raising of features like the cardholder’s image and signature, plus a second “ghosted” image printed at a different depth in the card than the primary photo, for added security.

- New polycarbonate card stock, which is much more tamper-resistant and durable than the existing, plastic cards.

-Elaborate graphic designs that incorporate a B.C. mountain range, the Steeples in the Kootenay River Valley, on the driver’s licence and an orca on the ID card. Designed to meet North American information placement standards, the cards also use larger type for easier reading of key information.

-Additional text to identify cardholders under 19 years old. This feature is common on ID cards but will be unique on B.C. driver’s licences. It will make it easier for police, licensed establishments and retailers of tobacco, alcohol and lottery products to quickly verify a cardholder’s legal age.

Seeing as Norway has been brought up I'll add the Swedish driver license and national ID card:

h8v3kl.jpg

Keeping it simple:

1. Last name
2. First name
3. Date of birth and country of birth
4a, b, c, d. Just date of issue and stuff like that
5. National identity number (consist of our birth date and 4 numbers we're assigned)
7. Signature
9. Class

As you can see it's very similar to the Norwegian one above.

XRAZE_ID_CARD.JPG

And this is one of them new fancy cards with ID-chip (to the left of the signature). Everything is in english as well so you should be able to figure out what it says.
