People are really going to have to come to grips with that a lot of moderate Trump voter's voted for him *in spite* of his awful views and crowd he attracted. I made the mistake of assuming only alt-right hypocrites online were pretending to be offended by the "deplorables" comment too, but now there's clearly a large number of moderate, middle/lower class Americans who got seriously put off by that.
1. Actually voice a vision for America, a soundbite that voters can identify with. Obama - "Change we can believe in", "Yes we can". Trump - "Make America great again", Clinton - ???
1. Pick a VP who isn't bland and completely uninspiring
2. Actually bother to campaign in key states
3. Don't call half the country deplorable
Nothing that would of made any difference, but I wouldn't have gone along with the "we need to get behind Hillary because she is electable" argument so easily.
This election has taught me that even the most repugnant piece of shit can win if he/she has the right message.
I think Bernie had that message or at least enough to hold on to enough of the states Clinton lost last night to win.
