Let's Talk About PlayStation VR: List of Upcoming Titles

Probably not enough for me to bite then. I have the current camera mounted on top of my TV and the field of view is open and clear enough that aren't going to be any VR sensor problems.
Ya if you already have a camera, probably not worth replacing. I just figure I could center myself in the camera easier by tilting it down a bit. Right now with it being on top, I'm more towards the bottom of the screen when sitting down on the couch. It's a clear area but the fine adjustment might be nice.

Plus, I figure with already buying VR Worlds, and my Move controllers being old and the replacement cost for the controllers is $100, it might be nice to get a backup set now. The camera would probably tip me towards the bundle over the core if it was the newer one.

Plus, I plan to get a Pro, so the extra camera would make it easier to set the PSVR in another room on occasion. I wasn't planning the option of moving it, but this would open up that possibility.

Heh, it really all hangs on if they bundle the new camera or not.

I pre-ordered one from Tesco with a £25 off code (TDX-HTNK) and used a £30 gift card I had hanging around. Pretty pleased to get on at launch for £294.

What the hell is going on with Amazon UK and their PSVR game catalogue?

Thought I would get my preorder in for Battlezone and Driveclub VR to.find that Battlezone is a "we don't know when this will be available" and there isn't even a listing for Driveclub VR. Or is it not just Amazon that are lacking in this department?

Anyone managed to get a preponderance in for these (or other titles)?

I don't know I've been waiting for them to put the move two pack up as well.

Where the hell can you get Battlezone physically? Also, can't Driveclub anywhere...

DC probably better purchasing digitally if you did previously as they have stated there will be a discount for owners of the original/season pass.

But yeah there is a distinct lack of outlets supplying VR games.

Excellent, thanks - have the digital version (bought day one!) and season pass so nice they are going to do that :)

Not having an issue finding PSVR games in shops, got a load on pre-order at Tesco and even the likes of Littlewoods have some - but I just can't find a physical copy of Battlezone which seems one of the most hyped games...I'm just reluctant to drop £50 on a digital copy, I suppose they might have it in game on release day...

Also, it'll cost me ~£10 to trade up the camera...worth it?

edit - just noticed the release date on the camera...

I preordered Battlezone on PSN. I think I'll go digital for PSVR games, as I think I'll be doing a lot of dipping in and out of various games/demos and don't want to be taking the headset and headphones on and off to keep swapping discs.

Just checked the 'purchased' tab in my library and the countdown for Battlezone shows 26 days, 10 hours. Roll on October.

Seems the camera will be better to adjust other than that the spec is the same, not sure on cord length if that changed.

RE:Driveclub I can't find the actual tweet but found this

After adding that DriveClub VR is a standalone game, and DriveClub Season Pass owners will get a discount on the VR version, Rustchynsky explained why the driver always wears gloves:

I've got my VR ordered with Amazon, probably going to switch delivery address to a friend as I will be in work on launch, no point taking the day off only for Amazon to deliver around 4pm!

Cheers, got mine pro-ordered at local game so will pop along launch day - be nice if the do a midnight launch but unlikely as they only had 7 units at the time for launch day :(

This thread made me realize when my unit arrives I will only have the demo disc and should probably be looking into actual games.

Because right now when people come over to use it they will be able to test out:

Demo disc
DOAX3

And after the videos, I'm just going to act like DOA won't have VR capability.

New Battlezone VR 360 cockpit experience.

Best watched on YouTube app with a mobile VR viewer.

https://youtu.be/9Cw5oguM5LU

Awesome. Even with my crappy Cardboard VR it gave an impression of how much thought and effort has gone into crafting the cockpit (this was the subject of today's PS blog post).

Love the multiple monitors for weapons selection, targeting, objectives, news. I guess that text resolution is going to be a problem; I assume that you'd need to lean in to read anything small.

I was excited for Battlezone before, but the extra info this week has made me more confident that this is going to be a great full-fledged VR game: The 4 player drop-in co-op multiplayer, dynamic campaign with different objectives with a risk/reward dynamic, weapon and ability upgrades. This isn't a short tech demo or 'experience'.

Anybody else not have a preorder and are holding off on buying the camera and Move controllers until you see if you can get the bundle at launch? If I miss out on the bundle and only got the headset then I'll get the camera separately and then march down to the Gamestop nearby to get a couple of used Move controllers.

Between the two I would definitely prefer the bundle though. It's the better deal and plus the Move controllers would be brand new instead of used. I have no idea what demand will be like in my small town but I hope I don't have many or any people competing with me when I show up to my local Best buy the day it launches.

Another thing, I don't know if this is true but when I went to try the headset again at Best Buy last week I was told by the rep that Best Buy would be the only retail store carrying the PSVR headset. That's why I'm heading there during launch day. But is there any truth to this? My original plan was to actually go to a Walmart since I thought they would be carrying retail units as well.

How essential will move controllers be? Could you just use regular controllers? Is there a difference to the new move controllers coming out in October?

I think they just have the PS4 style buttons?

And they're worth it imo. VR is about more than just putting a screen on your face. Being able to have your hancds is really cool. My friend who played the Deep Descent demo kind of felt disconnected whenever he'd move his hands and wouldn't see them.

Just went to the Sony Square store in NYC where they are heavily pushing VR. Tried Ocean Descent, London Heist, and Farpoint on a PS4Pro. They also had a PS4 Pro playing videos of Horizon Zero Dawn on a 4K Display.

Farpoint was definitely the most visually impressive, but it is hard to tell how much of that came from the power of the Pro versus the game quality itself. As far as fun factor goes, nothing beat using the Move controllers to shoot and reload in London Heist.

If I can answer any questions, please ask away!

You tryied PSVR in a Pro?? how would you say it was graphically the games? For example farpoint shows the ammunition in the gun. would you say that tiny number looks great? hard to read? Are the small details hard to read?

I'm wondering if thanks to the Pro we will have downsampling graphics ao we'll see a cleaner IQ on the PSVR display.

Did you noticed any screendoor? or any significant graphic issue worth to mention?

Also I'm interested if it's your first VR experience or if you have already tryied GearVR Oculus or Vive and how it compares.

Thx

The demo disc has a good amount of demos to try out at least. In fact, I'm not buying any games
(ok I'm getting batman)
until I try them on the demo disc. Day 1 I'll play them all and decide, probably between Battlezone, Eve Valkyrie, Rigs, and Here They Lie.

I've got the standalone headset preordered; I got a camera at launch and have got one Move motion controller (and a nav controller, not that it's going to be any use), so need another motion controller.

I'm kicking myself for passing on second-hand motion controllers in CEX back in the spring; I think one was £5 and another was £8. Now they don't seem to have any in stock. I'm probably going to have to buy new for £30!

Interested to know what the difference is in the new motion controllers. I've read someone speculate that they use micro USB, and Kyolux here is saying that the buttons will be rebranded to PS4 standard, but I've seen nothing confirmed.

At least I got the charging stand when it was £3; it's now £14!

Depending on what your already own, there may be some free VR upgrades, but possibly not day 1: Futuridium was a PS+ title a while back, and will be getting a free VR update, aiming for day 1 but not confirmed. If you own battlefront you'll get the Rogue One X-Wing mission for free. Isn't the RE7 demo meant to be getting a VR patch day 1, or have I just made that up? Stardust update is free if you bought Ultra on PS4, etc...

Edit: War Thunder and World War Toons are free and confirmed day 1 VR updates. Just checked the OP to confirm. Thanks Sangetsu!

According to jp.playstation.com, the only difference is that they include a mini-USB cable in the box. No physical differences.

I thought Farpoint looked really smooth, didn't really notice any screen door effect. Ammo counter was clear, though getting the right focus was still an issue like the other demos. Definitely noticed some jagged edges on some of the textures even on the Pro. Still, looked great.

I have tried PSVR once before (Battlezone) and Rift, but that was like two years ago so not the most current.

Overall, it just increased my excitement for PSVR, but still not sure if I need the Pro. I think Farpoint will still be great on regular PS4.

Oooh yeah, this is nice! Fantastic that we're getting an adventure game like this at launch.

Montage of some October launch titles: https://youtu.be/N93cGUk47n0

RIP wallet.

Man, I like the look of all of these.

Side note: You know, I expected it to look like shit but Rush of Blood actually could be kind of cool, though maybe too creepy for me to play in VR lol, kind of like a duel wielding Time Crisis where you're actually in the game. Duel wielding with two Moves sounds like it'd be awesome.

Just got back from a Best Buy demo. Tried headmaster, battlezone and super hyper cube. Don't sleep on super hyper cube that game sold me on VR more than the other two. Headmaster was fun but my headset wasn't fitted properly and kept moving when I moved my head. Battlezone felt just like playing a normal tank game with some more immersion. Overall impressed by the quality of the games coming at launch.

UploadVR has just confirmed Windlands will be available at launch on PSVR. Add another one to the list guys.

Will update the OP with TGS titles, Gunjack and Windlands soon. Working on PSVR OT, thank you for your patience

Windland is the grappling hooks game right? If so, awesome.

Man, I'm still holding on to my two PSVR orders in Amazon. One for the core bundle and the other for the $500 launch bundle. Might just sell one of the two after launch.

Even though I'm a VR developer with Touch controllers and all that jazz, I'm excited for October to see what Sony does with PSVR.

So I have the Asian version of DOAX3. I'm guessing the VR stuff from what I've heard is just DLC correct? I'm planning on getting Summer Lesson as well.

Think I might have to wait this one out till next year in the hope of some kind of price cut. Not sure I can justify it at £350 for the headset, £45 for camera, £60 for the controllers (optional I guess) and then some of the bigger games seem to be priced at £40. So £500 for all that.

When I do eventually get one, Driveclub VR has me most intrigued I think. I had a good experience trying Project Cars on an Oculus, it really gives a whole new life to some otherwise 'generic' race circuits. And Driveclub's circuits are far from dull in the first place.

Also Rocksteady work in our building and they've been wearing Arkham VR t-shirts for a while now. Teasing me.

Tried Farpoint the other day. I had previously played EVE Valkyrie, London Heist and Battlezone.

Farpoint was on another level. First time I felt slightly off-balance when in VR, probably because I was standing. Looking around and actually aiming with the gun peripheral felt great. The demo instructor called it "VR 2.0," and that sort of made sense. I'd imagine it's going to be insane on the PS4 Pro.

I'm holding off too. The launch of a complete set is inevitable. I guess people who pre-ordered will be contacted to upgrade their pre-order soon.

GDI! You just sold me on Farpoint and I was going to possibly skip on it. I'm too easy. =_=

So many peripherals to get now. I'm thinking I may have enough $$ aside for a wheel for driveclub sometime around mid-january too.

New Format Guys!

-Removed links from articles confirming PSVR support

I did this change because of 3 reasons:

1) Ran out of space on the OP and tried to move stuff but ultimately decided not to go with it (curse NeoGaf limit)
2) Too Many Damn Games! (Reason for Num. 1)
3) Some people on their mobiles couldn't see the titles in the OP due to heavy URL data

On the bright side I managed to fit all the games in the OP with the new format :p

Tell me what you guys think.

Bonus: Added New trailers to games

Recommend watching Headmaster and Robinson: The Journey videos in the OP. Very fun.

I can't view the first page on my iPad anymore since the change. Is there a way to turn off all the YouTube links? I think that's what's crashing it

I bought this too and remember reading the same thing, that it'll be added as DLC. I don't think they've said exactly what will be available, right?

I'll be importing Summer Lesson as well in case it doesn't come over.

wish there was more info for here they lie. gameplay vids, hand on impressions, hell even pre order info.

that dev has been radio silent for the most part. i have my doubts it'll even be a launch title
