Someone explain me how much polygons they have because they are funcking incredible. Nothing can touch them, except The dark sorcerer characters...

The game use tessellation?

This game will rule all with its next-gen mustaches

I have no idea how to gauge model complexity or whatever but these are undoubtedly the coolest looking

Polycount doesn't look that amazing. I think that the excellent lighting is creating the impression that the models are a lot more advanced than they seem.

I know, it's a short trailer but everything is in game, ready at dawn has specified this, and the details is incredible, the best characters, at least for me, seen in this first wave of next generation games. I'm so curios about the amount of polygons for character!

Not that amazing judging from your screenshots.

I have got to disagree. While the sharpening may not as egregious as what I have seen in some TW2 screens this is still a bit over the top with pores and sweat.

What's the point bringing in crysis 3 to a thread discussing The order 1886's character model?

No comment about the models but damn they have stylish clothes. Well, uniforms. But still much more stylish than anything i usually see anywhere.

I thought some close up on the clothes were kind of low poly.

Hard to see anything though because of how dark the scenes are.

While tessellation is possibility, I think the character models may have around around 80-100K polys. Given Drake from Uncharted had around 40K, it comes down to how creative the designers can get.

Crysis 3 is supposed to be a graphics standard at the moment.

Comes off as hit and run crap.

Because Dennis.

I am sorry I was not aware that we could only talk about characters in The order 1886 as if that game exists in some sort of gaming vacuum.

Unlike the C3 model, the characters in The Order have high quality consistency in every aspect.

Don't be coy. It's about the discussion of a specific game's characters. Your post comes off as a hit and run about, "here look! crysis 3, crysis 3".

Exactly. The focus of the Crysis 3 graphics in those shots are clearly on Psycho's sweaty head, leaving other aspects lacking by comparison.

Thanks! They are amazing, the most closest characters to cg quality seen in all my life!

You are being ridiculous. And get out with your "hit and run" accusation.

The OP states that the characters in The Order are something more or less unique. I disagreed - at least judging from the posted screenshots - and then offered a different game. Which people can disagree with of course, but I was perfectly on topic.

This game truly looks astonishing, and I'm SO glad it's third-person.

I'm very happy about third person. But, by going that route, bad animation can kill hype for it in a second.

Hopefully they make it a focus. I have some high expectations for next-gen animation. And you know Naughty Dog is going to be setting a high bar. (Thank christ for Naughty Dog)

Looks amazing, great graphics/artstyle/setting. One of the biggest shames ever that it ended up being what looks to be a L4D/Gears style game.

I read something from a dev claiming that the gameplay would be a varied action-adventure rather than a straight-up shooter, which sounds good to me.

We don't know. We just know it's a third-person action adventure. That definitely doesn't sound like L4D, and doesn't really sound like Gears either.

Is there reason to be worried? RAD is a fantastic and talented studio.
