Got my copy of Xeodrifter for the Vita, now I look forward to Soldner X2 (which is a game I really love, I've spent time on the digital version and its a brilliant game, those challenges can be bastard hard though!).

I love Soldner too. Can't wait. That was one of my dream Vita releases for LRG and both companies are pulling it off so nicely.

I guess EastAsiaSoft wanted it that way.
Which is good because I need two copies of Rainbow Moon.

We don't know yet if you will be able to purchase two copies for Rainbow Moon.

Keep in mind that Soldner-X 2 you will only be able to purchase one copy, and that is Eastasiasoft, as well.

I still haven't got my soundtrack of the second batch (ship June 18 ) + Octoquad....(STM RPG)

And i'm still buying new release...

I'm guessing that the last two releases (release days) selling out slower is because they've realized that they needed to allocate more games to the first batch? I can't remember these games lasting 45 minutes ever since Breach & Clear (there was that one game, but I can't remember the name...).

Ah yeah, must be because of the new game thing then.

I wonder what this will mean for how many copies they'll have available for non-Kickstarter backers. Will it get the same numbers as usual available due to extra copies being printed for the Kickstarter-ers, or will we all be sharing from the same batch?

Yeah lots of details we will need. Prob won't be for a few more months, either. I think they just finished up translating the last episode, too.

I'm really not looking forward to those fees :(. Still have to receive my previous order and fees, now this one too. I really hope the European distribution center idea will happen.

Anyway, got my order in again. So far I've managed to get all of them, hope this continues.
Yeah, same. I got the Dad Edition of Octodad PS4 and a Vita version so I'm already dreading the fees. Should be about €30 extra, I'm afraid.

I really really REALLY hope that LRG is seriously considering setting up an European fulfillment center, because if the releases keep coming at this pace, I'm afraid I have to stop collecting. So far I've bought every single LRG release and I would love to keep buying and supporting, but with 5 releases this month, it's been an extremely expensive month for Europeans.

How is that EU distribution center supposed to work? Someone has to pay VAT at some point either when importing or selling the goods, so the fees are there either way

I think no VAT has to be paid if a certain percentage of the product is of European making. E.g. if the cover art and booklet are printed in the EU, the game could be considered "European" enough to not be considered an import product. Not sure how big of a percentage that has to be though.

Similarly, when all parts of a product are be produced in China, but some parts of the assembling or localization takes place in Germany, it wouldn't be a Chinese product to the European Union.

I'm not an expert but this would kill handling fees. In my country the customs tax is only a small percentage, but there is always a handling fee of like ~€15. Also, I assume it's cheaper to import a huge batch of games into one European country (preferably with lenient customs fees) and have the costs of this paid by upping the shipping fees a little for all European customers, than letting every customer pay their "own" customs fees. But I'm not really sure about this. I do know that more and more international webshops are using these kind of EU warehouse methods.

Another way of going about this is have the customs fees be paid upfront. This would also kill the handling fees, I believe.

I wonder how Fangamer does it? I recently ordered Shovel Knight Vita from them and I only paid $4 shipping to Europe.

edit: Oh shit I just realized there's another release coming this month... At least it's Vita-only, which might just put it right under the customs threshold for me. Are there any release dates confirmed beyond Soldner-X? I could use a break after this month :p.

I don't know the details, but some countries already get that. Maybe contact LRG, tell them about the huge fees in your country and see if they can do that for you as well?

That is interesting, but seems a bit to complicated and expensive for a small operation like LRG.

Worked a graveyard shift last night and had to set an alarm to remind me to order this morning. Got my order in for all three but crashed hard afterward.

Shipping a Vita game to Europe actually only costs about $4. When an American friend ships a Vita game (or something of similar weight) to me, it does really only cost around $4.

But the fairly hefty $15 LRG charges also includes 'handling' (= packing your order, printing the label, etc..).

.
?? how is that possible? The lowest price for any kind of international large envelope on USPS is like $13

If LRG could ship something for $4 I'm sure they would do it

Fangamer is using something called IPA, but that seems like a specific business solution to me

I am not sure what the margins are like for the games, but they also need to make some money on shipping to keep this going as well

As an American friend myself who has shipped a number of Vita games to Europe, it is always about $15. There's really nothing hefty about LRG packaging, I can't imagine anything lighter or smaller than a standard-sized padded envelope. My two recent posts to Germany were $12+the envelope.

It costs me more than $4 to ship even within the US. Your friend must be paying most of the shipping for you.

Rest assured that this friend isn't paying anything for me. I'm not sure which shipping method he chooses (it's something weight based, and definitely USPS), but there definitely is a way to ship a Vita game for that amount to Europe. Similarly he's sent me PS2 games with a shipping cost of like $7 or $8.

Similarly, you can ship a fairly large package for just a couple of euros (like €3 or €4 iirc) from Germany to the USA with Deutsche Post, btw. It's called Maxibrief or something iirc.

could you ask you friend what they are using? That's some pretty interesting info which could be helpful to many people. I have never heard that or seen anyone offer it.

There is nothing on the USPS website, the cheapest is First Class International which weight based and like $13

When I sold a couple of Vita games on eBay recently the weight and size of the padded envelopes was so small that they qualified as letters. Sending a letter without tracking internationally is cheap.

Ah yes that might be it. Can't be thicker than 1/4 inch but I guess a Vita game could fit in that. looks like $2-$4 depending on weight. Thanks! I was always only looking at large envelopes.

Man USPS prices are so weird and complicated. Going from 1/4 inch to anything larger is a $10 increase lol

Same thing with the "Maxibrief" shippng method from Germany/Deutsche Post. They can also be fairly thick and will still be considered a "letter".

No, not really

I'm pretty glad the next release is Vita-only. No Vita for me so the double-hit of two PS4 games on one day can average out over time.

I'm so happy for my friend (the founder of Mighty Rabbit Games). I hope you all buy their games. We went to college together and were in the video game development classes together. Really good guy and the company he keeps really work hard on their stuff. (Go NCSU!) Glad this thread shows acceptance of their stuff. :)
