Real talk:
I don't think bundles should be a thing anymore. It's an additional stress when ordering for customers and apparently a mess when shipping.
Just make soundtracks and other goodies bonuses that are put up at different times. Yes, yes, some people will complain about the shipping, but is it really worth the headache? All the bundles so far have created headaches IMO.
I'm really not mad at something they didn't control like the fullfilment center messing up the bundles, but just consider what my experience was like the past couple of weeks:
- Couldn't get Soldner, because I tried to get the bundle and it wasn't up and available to buy at the same time as the solo game.
- Got Breach & Clear bundle by itself.
- Didn't even get the soundtrack with the bundle.
I'm over missing out on Soldner and I'm not mad, but if you just take a step back and look at the situation, it's not a good look.
If subscriptions aren't happening, then the store should be super-lean and fast, IMO, and avoid overcomplicating the buying with multiple options of the same product. No confusion with bundles, no additional complications.
Just my opinion, of course
Also, I have a guess on who LRG's "competitor" coming into the market is: iam8bit.
And knowing the shitty job they've been doing with vinyl releases (iam8bit is a wonderful case study for why LRG is right IMO for not getting lost in pre-orders), I will be more than happy to keep 100% supporting LRG. I complain out of love!
Edit #35: Played a couple of hours of Breach & Clear Deadline -- this is legitimately good. The only major problem I have with the game is that the framerate is pretty messy, but I'm honestly impressed. When did Breach & Clear become an open world, quest based, tactical-shooter hybrid??
It's pretty great, with basically three main ways to play: Direct control, team control, and for the trickier parts with more enemies, individual troop controls. The way it lets you seamlessly switch between the three is great and really streamlines the game for the easier combat scenarios and exploration.
Seriously, I'm pretty impressed.
