Limited Run Games - Putting digital games into your hands

I've started to play Shadow Complex, and so far I love it !

I've also played (and finished in one delightful afternoon) Furi, and I can say I'd buy a physical version without a doubt ;)

You know, I totally forgot to mention this before but Spike Chunsoft's One Way Heroics is actually licensed and that license is set to expire on a certain date. This means that you can fully expect Mystery Chronicle One Way Heroics to be delisted from Steam and PSN within the next three years, it's just a matter of time. If you're waffling on buying one of our last PS4 copies, take solace in knowing that you'd have permanent access to the game regardless of any delisting.

almost done!! thx Josh and Douglas

Real shame there isn't a dev associated with LRG that has ported a few Unity games to Vita and PS4 ...

Touche. Hint hint.

Anyway, down to the last few copies of Thomas & Mystery Chronicle on PS4. Pleased to see Vita versions sell out though. I hope that bodes well for other Japanese games on the platform. I'll be a-tell-i-er ing my friends to buy copies too.

Apparently this coming Friday, October 7th, will mark the first anniversary of this thread. I don't know the exact date of LRG's establishment, but it would probably be an understatement to suggest that Josh and Douglas deserve a round of applause for the tremendous work they've done in bringing us physical goods from the digital realm.

Congratulations on the successful first twelve months and well wishes for many more to come!

I certainly enjoyed the leisurely nature of this past run and, hopefully, we'll see wider windows for everyone to grab their own copies without the minute madness. Anyway, what better way to celebrate the occasion than (re)posting some of those wishlists! Remember, don't let those dreams continue to be dreams and feel free to post your current LRG collections! Feel free to correct any incorrect info and keep on letting fellow gamers be aware about any other potential small pressings of other titles!

I'd love to see Slain get a PS4/Vita physical release. I've been quite addicted to it since it was released digitally, and I'd love to have a physical version to stand on my shelf.

YES.
The game was a very nice surprise, will have a vita version, and deserves a physical release with a badass cover and a color manual.

Likewise, I'd love to see the original included in one of the newer games. Even cart only versions of the original cost a ton, I'd still love to get a boxed version one day though.

One Shantae GBC complete in box just went for $1000 that's crazy *_*

Cart only it's around $300 from what I see

Nah, it's just part of my wishlist, but a physical copy of the first game does already exist in Asian/Japan territories with English support from my knowledge.
Yea I have it on ps4 and vita. JP version just launches in English on an English console but HM2 is a code (didn't matter to me as I like only the first game) but keep that in mind.

Yeah, hear hear. It's a bloody great initiative and I'm thrilled it exists.

My wishlist (all for Vita at this point, lol):

Adventures of Mana
Alone with You
Attack on Titan
Attractio
Any Atelier game (but especially the Arland trilogy)
Axiom Verge
Bastion
Broken Age
Cel Damage HD
Claire Extended Edition
Crypt of the Necrodancer
Don't Starve
Fez
Frozen Synapse
Grim Fandango
Guacamelee
Hotline Miami Collection
La Mulana Ex
The Last Blade 2
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee
Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath
Severed
Steamworld Collection
Velocity Collection

Upcoming:

Caligula
Drift Stage
Garou: Mark of the Wolves
Rainbow Skies
Suki and the Shadow Klaw
VA11 HALL-A

I'd also love stuff like Downwell; Geometry Wars 3 and Super Stardust Delta but I kinda like having them on my memory card at all times lol.

(And I'd imagine some of these are held back by legal bullshit).

If spike is happy spike could let them do the JP necrodancer that plays in english and has the Dangan characters and music. That would be great.

Seems all versions of all games sold out during the weekend. Nice to see another successful release from LRG even with all these heavy hitters coming up in October/November. Competition is fierce right now.

Good luck packing those 18.000 games!

I just started Shadow Complex tonight and damn is it fun! I played almost an hour and already feel well into the groove of things with multiple items and upgrades.
I'm guessing the game isn't terribly long but so far that was an amazing hour! Keen to see where it goes, plus some of the trophies look like a challenge if I ever feel like replaying.

Am I remembering correctly that this mystery title is supposed to be Vita-only, too?

So we have Shantae x 2; Volume PS4/Vita and Mystery Game Vita?

Are you sure Volume is getting a PS4 release through LRG? I thought it was Vita only and the mystery release for October was something that was both PS4 and Vita.

YES.

Agreed, a nice manual is a must for that game, even if its mainly just an artbook for those wonderful sprites. I've finished the game on the PS4 twice already! Managed to beat the bosses without taking damage and am now doing a no mana run and will do it all over again when the Vita version is released. Definitely the surprise of the year for me.

I would be absolutely gobsmacked if Volume was only for Vita. See no reason for them not to release the PS4 version while it exists and they did both versions for Thomas.

If there is a Vita-only game, I can only see it being a situation where a PS4 version doesn't exist (i.e. Oddworld Stranger's Wrath or something).

We're aiming to try and provide enough where they can last a weekend. I believe we've hit a good spot.

I do think releasing too much on one day impacted the sales speed a bit, but overall we're happy with the results. For the record though, we're going to try and avoid releasing six games in one month in the future.

Doug, any chance we can get some clarity on these points in here? Specifically in relation to this tweet:

https://twitter.com/LimitedRunDoug/status/782732309539721216

Two games at once too much. Everything is an experiment and a lesson.

You're saying that the aim is to last a weekend (which these games did), then you're saying that sales are impacted and finding reasons for it. I though the games did exactly what you wanted? (Sold out, but lasted the weekend).

The six games in a month may be a part of it (though personally I'm okay with that amount), but I don't think two games at once is a problem. If anything, it's a benefit. You're either interested in the game or you're not, but being able to save on shipping by ordering two at once is a bonus to a lot of people.

Plus, if you're on the fence about a game, throwing it in with an order you were already getting is an easier choice than choosing to shell out an extra $15 if you're an international customer.

This wasn't the first time two games were sold at once either. Don't really see why that is supposed to be a problem. I definitely prefer when multiple titles are sold on the same day.

I know I'd buy more games if they came out together. The shipping is $20 CAD, its hard to justify buying just one game with a $20 shipping fee.

Are you sure? I think I pay $11 USD for two games to Canada which should come out below $15 CAD. When I bought four games I think it was $15 USD which should be close to $20 CAD. I do agree that it's a high cost but shipping between Canada and the US is expensive if you want tracking.

My last order before this one that had 2 games (Rainbow Moon + Shadow Complex) was $11 USD for 2 games, but this time I got charged $15 USD for 2 games.

Shipping to Canada was raised because we're now shipping games with import fees and customs duties prepaid. Several customers in Canada were being taxed on recent games and we wanted to avoid that going forward.

While we are making wishlists:

100ft Robot Golf
ABZU
Mother Russia Bleeds
Outlast Collection
Hotline Miami Collection

Pretty sure that's already happening. Gamestop, Gamefly and VGP all had physical copies of the game up on their site with a release date for later this year. Idk if they're still up, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were taken down since the devs haven't confirmed it yet.

My wishlist (for specifically Sony games):
-Adventures of Mana
-Atelier Plus (all of them)
-God Eater Resurrection
-I am Setsuna
-Malicious (and Rebirth)
-Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines
-Phantom Breaker: Battle Grounds (and Overdrive)
-Romancing SaGa 2
-Ray Gigant
-Soul Sacrifice Delta
-Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity

Some I own and would gladly double-dip on. I know there's more I want, but this was all I could think of, for now.

My most wanted is a Vita DrinkBox "trilogy". Preferably with separate boxes and carts. Those were all games where the Vita felt like a prioritized platform and I strongly associate them with the console. As a Vita fanboy I would like to have them on my shelf.

Oreshika is probably never happening. Sony has crazy high minimum guarantees for licensing their games.

Oreshika and Soul Sacrifice Delta both already have English physical releases tho
