Kinda regretting dropping €100 on Thomas was Alone and One Way Heroics now...

I also didn't expect The Silver Case would be $50. My poor wallet...

Come on guys, chill. They just announced the details, if there are still questions left unanswered, just wait a little until they can answer it.

I thought you were getting the Steam key right away, or at least soon after paying for it... today.

That sounds like a release to me.

will the code work ahead of the October 7th release day?

Well, that's another unanswered question for LRG, isn't it?

It's Steam. You'll be able to redeem the key right away, but you'll only be able to play the game when it's released on October 7th.
If Grasshopper decides to do Pre-Load (which I highly doubt), you'll be able to download it even earlier, but still you1ll only be able to play it on October 7th when the store updates. Standart Steam procedure.

There should be more pictures than just a box. This is not like a PS4 or Vita game which only comes with a cart or disk. Show the contents potential buyers are getting.

Urrrrgh, $50. It comes with a lot of stuff, though, so it's worth it. Kind of exciting to get a lower number on earlier orders; I hope the site doesn't crash at 6 p.m.

Are there any infos on if the game can be played off the disk or is the disc solely for installing the game/not having to download it through steam?

I don't have a link to provide you but I'm 100% sure you won't have to activate your game on Steam.
It would be against everything LRG stands for, it wouldn't make any sense, like, at all.

I got an e-mail that my Mystery Chronicle order has shipped already, I'm pleasantly surprised since I was expecting it to take a bit longer.

Glad to see they're sending out steam keys early, I don't mind the price being a bit higher than expected, as I planned on double dipping in the first place.

I just added a ton of new images - the only things lacking a mockup are the art book and two-piece manual set as I don't have assets for those yet.

We don't have the Steam keys yet but will start sending them out to customers who preorder immediately when we get them.

Theoretically, if the cost is too high and you don't care about the digital key - you could always sell the digital key and recoup some money. The included soundtrack will also be individually sealed so I guess you could sell that too if you were inclined.

Think I'm gonna have to pass on this. With the shipping it's gonna come out to $85 CAD...I can't pay that much for one game, especially for a platform I don't collect for.

I'll consider The Silver Case if reviews and user impressions are strong enough but I'm passing for now. Not really a big collector of physical PC games and I'm not the biggest Suda51 fan either tbh.

The real breakdown should consider all the components:

- Full-color box with interior tray
- 22-page Manga
- DRM-Free Game on disc in it's own jewel case
- Steam key for Game ($20 value)
- Artbook
- Soundtrack on CD in it's own jewel case
- Two-piece fold out manual set spot-printed on silver and blue paper (these are similar to the original japanese PS1 manuals)
- Individually numbered holographic authenticity sticker (similar to the one on our Saturday Morning RPG vinyl)

If you consider the $20 Steam key, you can look at it as $30 for the physical goods and DRM-free game. It's a pretty good value, though I'm completely biased in that statement. :)

I think the price is extremely reasonable. Can't wait to pre-order today.

It's not really $20 though. Not like we could say to you "keep that key, and I'll pay you $30". :-)

We'd still have to try and sell the key afterwards and actually manage to get $20 for it.

Not claiming the package as a whole isn't good value, just wanted to say that I (and potentially others) don't see it as a $20 Steam key. It's even a bit superfluous when you already have a DRM-free copy of the game.

Could you maybe shed some light on the art book. its size and the number of pages?

I feel like it's kinda unnecessary to put a Steam key in the box when there's already a DRM-free copy on a disc in there. It would be nice to not have the Steam key in there and pay a little less.

But it's fine, I really want this thing, so I guess I'm willing to pay up. This will be my first Limited Run purchase!

Well, if you don't mind playing the game until this ships in December, sure. I think most people would prefer to get a copy earlier.

So I guess it did turn out that the standard cover version of RCR ended up being the rarer edition?

They're currently showing 349 copies available and went on sale a little over a week ago.
I wish I had checked stock the day it went on sale.

I checked late on the day sales opened and there was 470 something copies in stock. I don't think the stock indicator is a good way to tell how things are going. If it is unlimited, the stock could just constantly be replenished.

Yeah, you're going to get the Steam key much earlier than the box. You'll probably get a Steam key this week whereas the box will arrive in December (we need time to manufacture, assemble, and ship all the boxes after sales close on the 20th).

COnsidering the size of this edition, will this be shipped in a box? It looks like it would be easily damaged during transport so I'm tempted to get the shipping box with it, but not if that's what you're going to ship it with anyway :P
