Limited Run Games - Putting digital games into your hands

Wait, what? That is so weird. Between the boxart with the rating and LRG saying they passed on it because it was getting one, I would have thought it was real for sure.

Pretty sure it's real, retailers don't really make such things up. They probably just got surprised that the listing showed up before they could run an official announcement.

I'm hoping for a Vita release from LRG!

Mine wasn't the deluxe edition. Looks like they may have sent out the wrong keys?

Yeah, same here. I got one code and it's just for the game.

Maybe they'll send out another round of emails with a second code for the extra content. I think someone from LRG mentioned in this thread that they would send out two separate codes.

I believe they had two codes and were trying to work with Steam to combine them into one code.
That may not have happened though the email explicitly says Deluxe Key.

got the Silver Case Steam key! (i actually didn't know we got a code from ordering, lol)

edit: it's not the deluxe key?

Per their Twitter:

We'll need to send out the bonus content keys separately! This will take a day or two as we'll need to wait on the keys from Playism.

Seems they expected the keys to be deluxe but obviously this wasn't the case.
Better to get the game first, so that's the silver lining.

I see, thanks. Looks like something went wrong then.

Cool, I'm just glad the code for the game arrived before the weekend. Waiting for the bonus material is no big deal imo.

Yeah, I think AGM accidentally sent me the standard keys instead of the bundle keys. Not a big deal as I can still get bonus content keys and send those out.

It's more annoying for those who'd want to sell the deluxe key though. Now there are two separate things to sell

Mystery Chronicle: One Way Heroics (PS4) is the first title I've ordered with them and probably the one I've been most excited to add to my collection. Game just arrived today and the disc is floating around in the case. That's a little disappointing but I suppose I'll just have to live with it.

If it is any consolation, we've received more than 50 copies of this from the factory that were loose. We still haven't opened about half of the cartons from Sony so I expect that number to be much higher. For reference, we don't ship out any loose copies from the factory. They go into a pile of shame in our back room to be dealt with later.

I've brought the whole issue up again with our project coordinator at Sony's production facility and he's working on solutions. Don't know if this will go anywhere but here's to hoping.

Don't worry, it's not a slight against you guys. Back when I worked for Gamestop probably 10-20% of the titles we got in were also loose in the box (these were usually the ones I'd gut). Until a Sony engineer redesigns their keep case, I doubt that's going to change any time soon.

I haven't had a loose disc before this week, I open all my games anyway but I found this video of a guy that fixes a loose disc inside a sealed game and I tried it and it works! Easy to try on an unsealed game too.

Edit: haha i didn't even realise the post above mine. But yeah, no need to press THAT hard. It's not ideal, no, but it's something.

Watch this video: https://youtu.be/mIdlgFOdfAk

Tried this method, and it worked for me.

I tried this, and you're running a huge risk of damaging the insert/cover. You can see it in the video. I'd rather deal with a loose disc, it's not gonna be damaged anyway

Look how hard you have to press it. Don't do that

My One Way Heroics and Thomas Was Alone copies just got here. Gonna have to make some time for the Vita tonight. :)

You don't have to press that hard at all and you can distribute the force needed to click the disc back in place by not using the tip of your finger (I used about an inch of my finger flat over the spot). It just looks worse because the image you are showing is from an already opened game and he was really pressing to demonstrate the spot. I've done this six times already since he posted the video and it not only worked every time, but there was zero damage at all to the insert or wrap.

I opened my Shadow Complex package and the disc was misplaced. Not a big deal, but it's worth mentioning as I believe it also happened to other buyers. What's a bigger deal is the game crashed while I was in the pause menu. Though I imagine this is not a problem with the disc, but the game itself, right?

Probably because on PS4, your game isn't played from disc but installed on your HDD. If the disc had a problem, installing would probably have failed.

Then Curve Studios got into the convo with them, saying they're not the "friend" but would like to know. Curve just did TWA, and I'm hoping for more from them... especially Stealth Inc 1 & 2, and I'm fond of 10 Second Ninja X too.

I'd quite like The Swindle and Hue from them, but still, Oddworld Munch/Stranger would be my most anticipated LRG titles if they could grab them.

Still sad I missed One Way Heroics on the Vita. Hoping I'll be able to catch a copy on Black Friday, if there are copies left.

And any news on Va11-Hall A? I remember people talkign about it a couple of months ago, but nothing since then...

Its my current GOTY so I hope they don't ditch the vita and iPad versions. I'm ready to buy multiple LRG copies of it on Vita. No news though on the port yet :(

Received both PS4 copies of MC: One Way Heroics and Thomas Was Alone within the past week. I opted out of ordering a shipping box this round which was a faint mistake in hindsight as part of the Thomas case was damaged in transit. In the same package, I encountered the "elusive" Blu-ray disc with jagged edges after hearing about the production fault nearly a decade ago. As a result, I've been playing through the game as a precaution without any notable issues at this time. Doubt it'll have any impact on the experience itself, but I know collector cases for Blade Runner: The Final Cut were plagued with these rough outer surfaces and they caused some racket when played inside stand-alone players. One Way Heroics appears pristine on the other hand although I hope my words don't jinx my sight and another oddity slips under my radar.

Based on comments from one of the designers of the Vita port, it's pretty much unofficially confirmed with LRG.

The DRM free copy we get for Silver Case will have the bonus content on disc or is the steam key they will send out the only way? I received one key already but it didn't state whether it was just the game or both keys. I'm going to open my copy so I'm planning on selling the key. Otherwise $55 would have been a bit much for me.

First time I've seen this, never even heard of this game before. So many games are getting physical releases on PS4, especially in Europe. Makes it really hard to stay on top of everything. ;-)

Love the art, will probably get it some day.

Yeh, Badland have been publishing a lot of physical stuff in Europe lately, it's been quite impressive. I'm holding out irrational hope that somehow they manage to get Dex on Vita out physically when that's finished.

It's fantastic how physical is making a comeback. Maybe the overall trend is still going towards digital media but it shows that there's demand for physical games, even if it's lower budget indie releases.
