Limited Run Games - Putting digital games into your hands

I ordered from Gamestop once, not only was the shipping not cheap but when the UPS guy was at my door he wanted another $13. Got me so pissed I never ordered anything from them again.

That's probably for customs and taxes, nothing you can really do about it. But charging $25 for shipping is ridiculous.

Haha, I don't store any of them underwater but the climate can get very humid over here at times. I have some 10+ year old steelbooks, which look horrible by now. :(
Gosh, that must be annoying ! I only have one steelbook so far, Bioshock on Xbox 360, and it looks OK luckily :)

Just tried preordering the Gamestop Indieboxes. It's 25$ of shipping... PER GAME. It's insane ! At that point they can't assemble numerous preorders in one single box...

Guess I'll have to resort to Shipito for the first time :s

Edit : pfff. Even with a US address it's still 5$ per game. So stupid.

does that free shipping code (SAVER) work with these?

Decided not to get The Silver Case after all, because it's just too close to the other releases from this month and I think I'd rather get the PS4 physical copy.

I'm in for Shantae though!

Same PS4 release just put the nailed in the coffing for me. NISA is famous to release collector's too, so i don't see the point to get the PC version... Sory LGR first game i didn't purchase since the start...

That PS4 announcement was really a strange timing. Hopefully not too many people will be upset or try to cancel their PC Limited Edition.

If you all of a sudden don't want the PC version anymore, I can guarantee you you can sell it for a profit on ebay. Doesn't really seem like a problem to me.

They just announced they sold 1970 copies of it, making it the second smallest LRG run, btw

Agreed, how can it "destroy" anything when it was so widely different from usual releases ?

When you do an A/B test, you change a single variable and only then : you can learn something. If you change a bunch of things at the same time, how can you claim you learned a lesson ?

I wouldn't be so sure. The PC market is very special... and now TSC competes with a physical console release, so it's less "exclusive".

Thanks for the code, but it doesn't work for preorders apparently :

But if I can use it once the game is released, then great ! :D
Two things worry me :
- how limited is this physical run ? From what I read it is limited, so will there still be some left at release ?
- will this be ever released in Europe ? Hard to say with Gamestop... but if they end up doing it, I know I'll instantly regret my US purchase.

It really is a tough call.

EDIT : well I've tried with a pair of Duke Nukem (in stock !) but it doesn't work either. Too bad :x

Hyped game, released almost the same time that the digital version, biggest platform, etc.

"hyped game", I mean c'mon. It's super niche.
It's really only for hardcore Suda fans who wanted extras.

Everyone else interested in the game got it on Steam already for much cheaper.

Hyped game ? Just look at the number of reviews on Steam. The Silver Case is borderline confidential.

At the same time that the digital version : well I'd say it's a drawback since nobody can be sure what to expect from this game stability / quality wise.

Biggest platform : not for physical games, at least. How many PC players don't even have DVD Drives anymore ?

Only 1970, huh? What happened to the "oh yeahhh we will port it if it sells 100k!!" I don't trust what a lot of Japanese companies say when they pull out things like that. Well, neat to know that it'll still be one of the rarest prints around.

Silver Case was hyped more than all the LRG earlier releases, at least. And sold less than Futuridium.

I never bothered with it either, not too interested in physical PC releases anyway but it was a high price to just impulse buy especially at a time when it's already been quite expensive with the amount of releases LRG have pushed out and have planned in such a short time.

Wow, only 1,970 copies. That's crazy. I really thought it would sell more.

Oh well, I'll have one of those! Should be in the first couple hundred, too.

I've tried ordering the GameTrust games from GameStop about 10 times and I can not get checkout to complete.

I'll probably be doing in-store preorders at this point.

From my Amiibo hunting days, I can say: In-store preorders are generally the way to go. As long as you don't get a shady GameStop clerk who's trying to preorder a rare thing for himself before he does it for you.

If somebody planned to preorder these games in-store and were feeling comfortable mailing them to France, I'd be very very grateful to be able to squeeze in ^^

Just MP me if that's something conceivable :)

I really doubt the collector's edition for The Silver Case PS4 will be as good as LRG's but we shall see. I'll be getting that version as well, no doubt.

i was checking ebay last night for any vita games i wanted and saw one way heroics for $31.50 buy it now sealed. perhaps the novelty of limited games is wearing off and its all about the quality of the game now.

I've only read good things about it.
Up to 45$ I feel like eBay prices are alright. It's as if you'd buy one game 25$ + full shipment at 15$, it's honest.
The price you got (free shipping) is à bit abnormal but congrats :D

One Way Heroics is one of the best games they've released imo. I wouldn't call it quality as much as mass appeal, familiarity, coverage, perceived value and resale potential.

Breach & Clear is still pretty high. You can find some colorful opinions on that game. Pretty much every release is shit depending on who you ask. Even outside of collecting and physical games there's a lot of cultural media>gamer>social synergy steps in the way of being exalted as "an actually good indie game for once"

There was a lot of copies of OWH printed and it sold through slow, so people who wanted it got it. With so many releases in September, people probably told themselves they don't want it for budgeting reasons, and stay convinced of it as a result. Eventually those $30~ or less copies will thin out as late comers find out or as the game potentially develops a small cult following down the line. Then what's not already in the hands of keepers/fans will be scarcer and stay expensive for the very last stragglers.

Volume threads on here were always barren, even though the game is excellent. It will probably sell out in the blink of an eye at 5K and 2 copies per customer from the start, but all the people who sat this one out because the last few games were only selling for $30 on ebay and "weren't that good" will be on facebook saying they should have printed more.

It's just this confluence of a rubber banding effect for speculation bubbles x sometimes arbitrary apathy towards lesser known games.

Also, when the license for One Way Heroics expires in 2019 and it gets delisted from all digital marketplaces, the prices will likely rise as a result since we'll be the only US physical release.

To me the lower eBay prices just mean that more people know of LRG and demand has been mostly fulfilled by LRG directly. Which is how it should be.

The only way to scalp now is to speculate on a Soldner situation or wait a long time.

I dont think it has anything to do with OWH itself.

I forgot you guys said that too. I should also buy it digital when it's on sale sometime.

I don't buy these games to sell, but valuation is a nice side effect and definitely makes having a game I like + a collection I want feel just that much more rewarding.

I had the same problem. I had to split it into two orders of five games each and then it worked. Apparently their system thinks anyone ordering ten items at once is engaged in fraud.

First time posting here. I gotta say I'm glad I bought the Silver Case LRG, even with PS4 being my preferred system to buy for.
Though I'm a gross suda fan.

Ha I love their hints. Very subtle :P Not a game for me but that's cool.

I guess that's a Vita exclusive unless they secretly made a PS4 port

I'm surprised it's not Steamworld given their blatant hinting, but still, this makes sense for what they've teased.

We had 4 Vita games and 2 PS4 games. I'm assuming 2 of the games are Vita/PS4.

That leaves Volume and now Stranger's (which doesn't have a PS4 port) as the two extras.

Excited. If we get Munch's somewhere down the line and I have a three-game Oddworld physical collection on one console...!

My friend wants volume as well but I want 2 copies for myself. Lol. Find a convince him to take ps4 instead of vita so I can have both vita and get him ps4 later.

Yes, this is a good thing to me. My biggest hope for LRG is that they get successful enough that they don't have to try to market things by pointing out how much they will resell for in the future, or do things like mention how much the original game sells for on the secondary market like in the Shantae email I just got.
