Link: Some Pics I Took Today

the broadband frog is probably gonna take over these soon enough with the amount of people on the board, but i figured i'd share them for as long as they're up i guess.

anyways, i didn't have much time, there was no planning involved since it was under such short notice. because of that, i didn't quite get the look i was going for with this costume. but over all, im satisfied.

anyways....

I see what you were going for.
Although I don't think a videogame forum is going to respond to this sort of thing very well.
makes no difference to me. like i said, they're some what videogame related, so i figured why not.

nothing. it was TFP. although it cost me $6 and an hour of work or so to make it the costume.

I'm sure the homeless loved to be a part of this project btw...especially the Black guy who looks like he's about to rip out your lungs and sell your belongings for a real bed. :lol

he doesnt look like that at all. he just looks sad.

Well given that I attended a Visual Arts school for 6 years and took several photography classes my immediate reaction was to take notice to the obvious contrast you were going for between a beloved fantasy character and the stark difference of a dirty realistic inner-city. The one with the demon mural was nice since I like the mural itself and I actually think you made a decent choice for Link. He looks nothing like Link but he looks like how you would think a video-game nerd would look (I hope thats not you).

The homeless shots were the most enlightening of the shots and I've seen tons of "Artsey" photographers use the homeless as models to make some sort of political statement of our congested society but I know that is not what you were going for. Like I said the contrast is still nice to look at and photopraphs like these the last thing you need to do is take them too serious or look too deeply into them for a message that just isn't there.

Overall, very nice. Thanks for sharing that with us.

gotta love nintendo fans. cant help but wanna cry sometimes for them though. :lol

I would make the sound of a plane flying over your head but soundbites like that are not easy to come by.

Funny pictures!
Reminds me of that Simpsons Halloween episode where Homer falls into a dumpster in the 'real world' and goes into the erotic cake shop.

I like the rest of them, but the Zelda fan in me demands that this be reshot but with Link holding the empty styrofoam container like he would the dungeon's master key. :D

Other wise, nifty stuff. Having not attened any kind of photography classes I can't speak to the 'artistic' quality of it, but it is interesting to look at and provides a couple of interesting points to try and take out of them. but then I always feel pretentious doing that so I just point and laugh.

*points and laughs*

*runs away*

Seriously though.. good stuff.

Johnny, you would have been better off without Link. He just ruins what might have been some interesting photographs. :/
I agree. Those would nice photos without Link. He just looks like a homosexual elf.

:p
