And I feel the opposite. The hardware was a bigger jump from PS4 to PS4 Pro, but when all features are considered, the PS5 Pro has been the more notable jump. It actually pushes consoles forward, solidifying upscalers and raytracing (hardware vs software, as an example) for those devices. Not to mention Wifi 7, which allows for downloads far exceeding the best the PS5 could ever achieve (and another thing that the 4 Pro didn't offer over the 4). When the dust settles, I'd bet the 5 Pro will easily be looked at as the bigger game changer.

The PS4 Pro also went up against the One X, reducing its overall impact. The latter made a more substantial dent in console gaming.

First time I'm reading this. Are you sure you don't have dust blocking the vents? If not, that sounds like a faulty console

Sounds like an issue. Not sure of your layout. The loudest mine gets is when it's revving up an inserted disc. Then it's quiet for the duration.

I think XVI goes to such low resolutions on base PS5 that aren't currently suitable for a good PSSR use. I recently replayed it on the Pro and it is a lot better than I remembered it, though. It would be the perfect showcase for the Pro, so I guess if they didn't do it, there was a big showstopper. I recall there was already a bug that crashed the game they had to patch for Pro.
FF7 Remake is also better as it keeps on the top end of the DRS, but a simple unlock to 4K would be nice.

It's a month old. I don't think dust is the issue.

I have it in my tv stand. It doesn't have a door and there is enough space for airflow. I never had an issue with the OG PS5 in the same spot.

My warranty is still good, but return window for Amazon closed last week. I guess I could contact their customer service and try to get an exchange.

Edit: I contacted Amazon and they refunded me my purchase without having to return it. I can use the gift card to buy a new one. I was not expecting that!

No, they followed the same approach. An extra 1 GB of RAM for the OS so that the main RAM have more back to games.

My PS4 Pro was considerably less noisy that my original PS4, something I can attest to as a fact given that Nioh 2's forge screen for no apparent reason was an absolutely certain way to force the fan to 100% rpm. The PS4 sounded like a vacuum cleaner whereas the pro wasn't nearly so noisy.

Horizon map screen had no fps cap initially and made my Pro beg for its life. Both of my launch units (base and Pro) were equally loud AF.

You might want to return your pro under warranty if it's very loud. I can only just about hear mine, when my ear is about thirty centimetres away from it.

On PC. Sewers run at 60-90fps. Outside tanks to 35-45 lol.

Granted, I'm playing max settings with hardware RT and 3440x1440 with DLAA, but I wasn't expecting my performance to halve.
