As a kid, Riki Naoe was orphaned when his parents died. His depression slowly lifted one day when he befriended a group of kids calling themselves the Little Busters. Now in high school, the group leader Kyousuke's return marks the beginning of the group's search for the meaning of life through playing baseball. The Little Busters grow into a full-fledged baseball team with Riki and Rin evolving into the team's ace batter and pitcher. Through their battles, they meet new people, discover more about each other, and experience many laughs and tears in the process...

But to what end?

If you enjoy baseball anime like Cross Game, Touch, Princess Nine, Ookiku Furikabutte, and Taisho Yakyuu Musume then you may find this series rather enjoyable. If you hate baseball anime like Enron, you will not!

Never even knew it was an game, anyway anime is great. spoilered stuff that was from the episode...

Episode 1

Kyousuke is pretty amazing of a character in both design and personality. Somehow I thought he'd be more of a subtle cool quiet characters but the most outgoing of the bunch, and just plain divine for Riki, and the one responsible for curing his loneliness from long ago (I guess backstory episodes will hopefully explore that?) made him the best of the bunch. Kengo is nice too and Masato and Riki for second favorites. Alot of them are just over the top and Riki is way more outgoing then I thought too.

I like the plot idea, or both aspects of it, and I have a feeling it will have an emotional ending 23 episodes from now.
Or rather on the happier side, just the thoughts of the friends having to split up after this year since Kyousuke will be graduating and then eventually everyone will go there separate ways, if only they could stay together forever
.

I do hope more backstory is explored the one this episode was hilarious
The bee scene with Riki setting fire to the spray while Masato was wearing the honey, lol

bad show is bad

I'm glad that they showed us just how stupid the main characters are in the first few minutes with this little montage, it certainly helps set my expectations and reminds me I'm watching a Key adaptation where everyone is incredibly mentally deficient and that this show is certainly no exception. Welcome to Little Busters!

lb1f.jpg

The character designs leave much to be desired (as the OP shall demonstrate), the humor feels like it's trying way to hard to be funny and ultimately falls flat and the dead eyes are forever watching. The real carnival of stupid hasn't started just yet but when it does... oh boy. Let me just say that this has potential to be the most hilarious Keywreck yet if the plot synopsis on Wikipedia is anything to go by!

lb1i.jpg

wouldn't be a key anime if the protagonists didn't have a tragic past

lb1j.jpg

yet another shining example of how unfunny this is

lb1k.jpg

it's even got an incredibly lazy PV featuring sprites from the games. clearly pandering to the indie dweeb demographic

All in all, this has fairly dull animewatch and I'll have to give this 2 out of 5 toei dead eyes

I recently finished, and adored, Cross Game (anime version). I've been fiending for more Mitsuru Adachi ever since, though it seems impossible to legitimately support the man as an American fan (unless I'm missing something, do tell if so). Is this really in the same ballpark? When I saw the title I immediately thought it would have a Pillows connection, I didn't even realize it was a baseball-themed show...

Definitely not, this is in the same vein to Mitsuru Adachi as Uwe Boll is to Stanley Kubrick.;p

It's a KEY show.

I feel like I might be the target audience.

I really, really, really hate the design of the main character.

Other than that I thought the first episode was decent.

Guess this is as good a place as any to ask, as my posts go largely undetected in the general-purpose anime thread... Are there any US-released Adachi works available that I may have missed other than Cross Game? Or imports with English subtitles? I'd love to read / watch Touch, H2, or honestly anything else he's done from one-shots on up. Wish the market for things like Kodansha Bilingual was more viable or these eManga sites that seem to be cropping up could sign some reputable authors / series.

Realize this thread is all but dead, but didn't think this was worth its own topic.

i hope this is not just hype. Japan has a lot of baseball anime/manga and ive been waiting to find out which one is good enough to start cause god knows they are all very long.
