There wasn't much in the way of information revealed at the Smash roundtable, so I could see this just being a remake.

They could easily have a 90 min presentation on the development of the Mother series and how this came together. Not saying it's Mother but 90 mins shouldn't change the discussion. They could make a meaty book about its development I'm sure.

90 minutes is a long time for Majora's or a Metroid game, and Bravely Default shows there's a group of people that want jrpg's on 3DS.

Well, within the last year they have released Game and Wario and Pushmo World. We have no idea how much of the workload they are carrying with SMT x FE. As for Paper Mario... the last one was only a year and a half ago. The series on average goes about four years in between releases.
"Explorers" it is Final Fantasy Monster Hunter apparently.
Adventure is a part of the Mana series, a dead IP that Square-Enix has forgotten.
