I think they kind of poked fun at that with the whole "didn't you see the signs?" flashback.
I think that was more of a gag about how absolutely retarded Marge has become as a character. Either way, it wasn't funny.

They copied Family Guy too. The scene with Milhouse throwing freesbie with himself == scene when Peter falls and hurts his knee and goes 'Aaaah, aaaah, aaaah' over and over again. Totally. :)

That millhouse bit makes me laugh every time i watch it, its just so perfect, easily the best simpsons skit in years. Last weeks ep was actually good (by usual simpson stands, not modern ones) i thought.

Last nights episode was OK, Homer & Knife vs Fly was classic simpsons, as was the bite at fox. But there were problems too, theres a lot more forced comedy in it these days, like the opening 5 minutes of the show where they tried to fit a gag into every line of Bart and Millhouses conversation, makes the show feel like tripping the rift or some crap like that, desperate to get a laugh. If you took all those needless and unfunny 2 word jokes out (seedless watermelon? wtf) you'd probably be left with one of the better episodes.

Yeah...I missed the beginning of the third act, actually, but rewatched it and saw why they didn't...still lacked anything approaching funny or sensical comedy, though.

The Fox bit was great, but it doesn't change my opinion that the episode fell apart after awhile. Everything AFTER Bart and Milhouse's idiotic opening and BEFORE Patty was actually kind of good. Hit or miss, siding with miss, otherwise.
