Probably all 3 tbh. - except the probably lack of funds on the 24th as below :(

What's the plan?

We'll sort out the plan when we have a definite date and better idea of numbers.

But the consensus on Saturday was possibly a night out in Shoreditch.

Shoreditch? Stay foolish!

Sounds good - what's in Shoreditch?

24th is my birthday. If we do it that week you all have to buy me drinks.

But I can do any of the three.

All three are okay, but of course it is around the time of XMas parties at work etc. so I won't know for definite until much closer to the time.

aww, man. sucks that I missed this. Came to England recently for some family stuff on the 14th, but I wasn't able to really check shit online till now. Anyway, now that business is taking care of, and rather than make a new thread about asking GAF on what cool shit there is to do in London, I thought I'd ask here.

I'm in harrow at the moment and I can kill two days just doing nothing, and I really don't want to just spend it at home. Haven't been here in 4 years or so, so I'm pretty clueless. Anyone got any advice on what I can do in London or something? I'll just be rolling on my lonesome.

More of UKGAF will be more likely to see this if you post it in the UK thread

Good luck, chum

Thought this would be the moat appropriate place to share this funny thing that just happened.

I was having a pint at my local boozer, the Slaughtered Lamb. This girl comes in, walks straight to me, says "hi, Metafilter, right?". I am completely lost, no idea what Metafilter is, but suspect that it relates to the massive geek riot that just minutes earlier stormed into the pub. The guy next to me thought I should have just said yes and played it from there.

It turns out that they are having their London Meetup, and their version of Xun had arrived just a bit earlier, sitting also by the door in a red shirt, like me. So the girl was sure I was the guy who posted being in the pub wearing a red shirt. Most of the people were meeting for the first time and doing the wonderfully awkward "forum handle, real name routine" we did in our first meet. I did a bit of research and it turns out that Metafilter is this NeoGAF Off Topic style forum, tiny in size (12k active members according to wikipedia) but they had a huge meetup regardless. Sounds like a pretty interesting forum in fact, and the members seemed like nice people.

Very bizarre, it was like watching an uber geek version of NeoGAF London Meetup from a third person perspective. Definitely need to make the next meetup, whenever it is.

EDIT - Musha Soturi, last week Nov or first Dec works best for me, I will be in Australia before and Mexico after. Woo Shoreditch, walking distance from home!

Nice story! But are you saying these people are more geeky than us? And they have girls? I may have to check this Metafilter out.

Ok dates noted, it's looking like it'll be 1st Dec at the mo. Be good to see you there dude, missed you at the last couple!

Seemed to have a more even mix of girls than gaf, and yes way more geeky than gaf, with a big margin - in fact if someone would have told me they're LARP or MTG, I would have bought it. I was actually suprised how regular people gaf are. Well, the MeFi people seemed like nice and smart people anyway, and their site looks pretty interesting - it's self-curated and self-regulating really well.

I used to play MTG. It's not that geeky :p

Bumping in case anyone is still subscribed to this thread, still need to know who's coming to the next one and what dates you can do out of 24th Nov, 1st Dec and 8th Dec. Will be making the official thread soon!
