[Musashi Wins!]

...Something that covers the history of adventure games. I'm interested in learning more about Sierra and LucasArts, etc. kind of the golden age of PC gaming (ok, not to everyone). I'd like to learn more about the creators of King's Quest, Gabriel Knight, etc. etc.

I've read a few books that gloss over these things but talk more about the multiplayer giants or shooters. I've read some about Ultima, Doom, etc. Is there any titles out there that focus more on this particular genre and it's rise and fall?

I dunno if such a book exists, but if you go to Adventure gaming forums like JA (I read occasionally, the forums move slow there) you can find out quite a bit about the older games just by reading and whatnot...

But as for actual information about the creators of GK/KQ and other series, I'm not too sure myself.
