Just got myself a new computer, able to run all the games i missed out on in the last 2-3 years :D.... SO i'm looking for a good involving rpg to play, doesn't matter if its a bit old.

For reference: ones i've allready played on my old comp:

Planescape
Fallout 1&2
Baldurs Gate 1&2
Neverwinter Nights
Arcanum
Silver

Thanks

Elder Scrolls: Morrowind + Expansions
KOTOR 1 & 2
Gothic 2
Arx Fatalis

Hmmm...

Some people liked Divine Divinity and Temple of Elemental Evil

The irony is that the PC is dead for RPG's in the past 3 years .. unless you want to suffer through a MMORPG.

::sobs::

...it wasn't too long ago the PC was an awesome RPG platform.

I agree! I would try Pirates! not a real RPG but not far off from one... and Ice Wind Dale II

If you liked Arcanum, Troika also did Temple of Elemental Evil. It was extremely buggy at release, but they've done three patches so far and it's a pretty decent RPG. It's based on a very old D&D module which has since seen a sequel.

I loved Arcanum hated ToEE... the world was so....bland

Buy a PS2, get Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. It's a fantastic game, and I promise that you might hit something besides X at least four times before the credits roll.

Wizardry 8 - old-style dungeon crawl. Combat is excessive and too slow, but there is a patch to speed it up.
Gothic 2
Freedom Force
Sea Dogs - this is a bit old, but better than Pirates of the Caribbean IMO
One of the Spiderweb Software RPGs - I've only played Geneforge, but it was well done. Very "old school".

Unless you played Morrowind to death on Xbox, I'd still recommend the PC version with expansions. Mods really make the game, the out of the box experience isn't that great.

I forgot about Wizardy 8 awesome game... a little buggy...but wonderful considering everyone working on it knew they were losing their jobs...

How about Divine Divinity? I had a good time with it and you should be able to get it on the cheap.

Never got to it, but Larian released a sequel last year too: Beyond Divinity.

Actually, it's Neverwinter Nights with Star Wars graphics :) The core engine is basically the same.

KOTOR2 (Feb 9th)
Vampire: Bloodlines

older titles you might have missed..
Vampire: Redemption
Anachronox
Deus Ex
System Shock 2

also not sure if you played the NWN expansions.. much more fun singleplayer than the original campaign

Thanks everyone, some good sugestions there...made me think about how good so many of those games were, like Deus Ex that was so amazing the first time i saw it.
Anyway cheers for the sugestions.
