God damn you guys getting this. I won't be able to afford one until at least November :(

More or less the same time line for me. Gotta get a PS3 first....then the BRD version. I also gotta sell my DVD versions of S1-5.

The Wire, The Shield, Mad Men, and Breaking Bad aren't hailed as some of the best TV shows ever for nothing. They are all extraordinarily well-written, well-acted, well-shot, etc. And if you break it down, they're all considerably better shows than Lost.

Though I like Lost more than any of them
I have not watched The Shield, but I'm actually the opposite of your spoiler, since I cannot tolerate Lost
past season three
. :lol

All the other shows are <3.

I meant design wise. They look lovely there.
Ah, I agree design wise too then. Thought they wouldn't look cool, but with the memorial names and the cast photo from each season, they all look great.

Agreed. I thought it was just going to be 815 names on it, but it's EVERYONE.
"Everyone dies sometime, kiddo." *goosebumps*

Damon and Carlton already said on a podcast that there was an explanation for the outrigger shooting, but the people in the other outrigger were killed off they could write the scene.

It's nice that they at least tried to explain it for the fans that need a canon answer, I guess.

I think they were talking about the outrigger we know of, not the mystery outrigger. Faraday, Charlotte, Juliet, and Locke were all dead; they wouldn't have been able to recreate that scene.

But the diary entry talks about being shot at, right? I was talking about this scene, and this quote from Damon and Carlton:

CC: Honestly, though, the logistics of getting all the participants in the outriggers in the configuration that was on the A-side of the time loop was actually really daunting.

DL: Considering half of them had been killed off

"Except, of course, for those who get to live on forever because of the island's powers. Also, some come back to life, like Sayid, that girl in Eko's flashback... Yeah. Well."

I'm not sure I understand... Are you saying they couldn't write the scene because the characters that were supposed to be in that outrigger had already been killed off?
Come the fuck on! :lol
"Yeah, the characters were already dead. That was totally out of our hands, obviously!"

It's nice that they at least tried to explain it for the fans that need a canon answer, I guess.
But it's a shitty "explanation"...
What would have been "nice"? Careful writing. Some foresight. The bare minimum, for a show like this, but hey...

So what is on the disc?
Deleted scenes, more special features, the live scoring, and more.
I'm sure there's even MORE but I'm leaving for school tomorrow and I won't have a BD player so I'm not bringing the set. :(

Yeah, it's uncanny: that dog really has an expression that says "I can't find a way to defend my beloved show with sound arguments, so I'd better attack the guy with Photoshop!"
That, or "lol, good one, and I'll call him a bitch while I'm at it, too!", I'm not sure.
But that's the beauty of it: it works just as well in both cases! :lol

It's more like... you're the yappy annoying dog that all of the sudden hopped into the thread and wont shut up.

The big dog is mature lost-gaf(transcended long debates with participation in criticizing and defending). Even our archnemesis , pheonixdark, is less annoying and yappy than you.

You're so bitter :lol Did Damon & Carlton run over you?

Case in point. ^
Let's say you go into the NFL thread and bitch about it for a MONTH. Maybe 0-2% of the large amount of stuff you say being something positive. Your response to someone sick of you saying "sounds like the NFL league forced themselves on his monther" is "you have tourette's". That is the lamest rebuttal/comeback I have ever heard.

Whereas "word from the valley is Damon forced himself on Erigu's mother" was a great rebuttal/comeback to my pointing out a whole bunch of plot holes?

Hey, Lost fans! Let's try and explain Ilana's actions in season 5 instead!

Ok, listen up.

There has been 1009 unique posters in this thread.

You rank 42 for the most posts made.

(I'm a programmer. I can figure out this data in 5 secs by copying this and posting it in a code editor that tells you the line numbers.)

Your only the only one in the top 43 who has nothing positive to say.

You better believe a large percentage of the 967 people that posted less than you do not like the final season or a large majority of LOST.

Conclusion: You. Have. No. Life.

edit - Solo has 650 posts, wtf :lol
dude hasn't posted in weeks either. insane :lol

Somehow we avoided talking how shitty this show is after watching and debating it for 6 consecutive years. Thank god there are people out there still putting in the work to make sure we know this by simply saying it and then providing nitpicking evidence that we already talked about and moved on from. Dunno what I would do if that person were banned and never heard from again.

so, the writing is complete shit?
The premise was good (then again, maybe they're not the ones who came up with it in the first place), and there were some misdirections that I considered decently clever, in the first minutes of a couple of season premieres.
Apart from that? Yeah, it was shit. Not just talking about the mysteries either, here... The character arcs? Laughable.

So I can't criticize the show, because "it's been done already". By the same logic, I guess you should also stop talking about how good it is. :lol

Yeah, I'm sure that's it: you could prove me wrong about all those plot holes, but you simply don't feel like it because you've been there already! Naturally! :lol

So you kept watching something you didn't like to pick out plot holes right? That was over 3 days of your dedicated the screen. But, it's taking up more time than that since you've dedicated quite a bit of time to this thread the past month.

Since you enjoy it though, I'm sure there are tons of tv shows, musicians, games, movies you disliked. Why aren't you debating why they suck for a month in other threads?

everything I like gets ripped on on the internet. Star Wars. Harry Potter. Lost. 24. water. hell, I've seen the Lord of the Rings movies get ragged on. you name it, there are people who take pleasure into ripping it to shreds, no matter what. I learned how to not give a fuck a very long time ago, which is one reason why I just think all the negativity is tiresome. it's not that I have a problem with people not liking aspects. whatever. to each his own. the problem is that I feel there is tons to talk about concerning the story and the show in general that is much more engaging and productive than focusing on the negatives.

it's like, it's over, we know the story-- but we don't necessarily have all the answers, we weren't told absolutely everything, but isn't it possible there are details somewhere that help shed light on certain things? I'm pretty sure that there are. there's just so much I would like to discuss, maybe not now or tomorrow, but certainly sometime, especially if I get a thought or uncover something worth mentioning. what I do not find any sort of productivity or entertainment or anything of that sort from, though, is bitching.

I just don't understand what people get out of it. I know of posters who hate the hell out of Lost and don't bother to post here-- why would they? they don't like it and I'm sure they have more exciting things in their life to go on about. that's why I don't understand the posters who do come in these threads and just shit them up from top to bottom. there are plenty of threads on GAF about things I detest, like Halo, and while I've been in the Halo Reach topics and even posted a time or two, they weren't these huge scriptures about why I think Halo sucks and why everyone is crazy for loving it.

long story short, bitching, I don't understand.

This is basically my point. I don't understand, it benefits no one. No one's opinion is going to change with this approach, on either side. It's just a nuisance that persists for no reason.

What I'd like to understand is how it doesn't seem to bother you that, say, Ilana's actions in season 5 (latest example) don't make a lick of sense. Or did you not realize that while you were watching?
