i don't see hand waving with fucking IT WAS ALL GOD's PLAN.

An entire season of side ways universe retelling the most important connections and relationships is a fitting end of the show.

THIS IS SO MUCH BETTER BSG's bullshit ending.

I was more referring to feeding us this overly religious bullshit.

The island wasn't purgatory. The alt timeline was. They all were there waiting. They couldn't move on without being together

We're really getting down to semantics now. They were basically "waiting" on that island, and they had to die there to go on to "heaven". The alt timeline was essentially the bridge (or is "heaven" itself). The island was purgatory (notice how Michael is still stuck there). Outside of the island was the real world.

I don't mind it. It's fine. But that's what it pretty much is.

That was absolutely great.

Some questions and things were left unanswered, but they did a GREAT fucking job ending the show.

They really outshined BSG, which ended with questions but didnt manage to pull it off as well. This was done REALLY well.

Best finale ever. And some weren't there because they weren't ready yet. Kind of weird that they went with purgatory since that was speculated for a long time.

Watching the news and Jesus fucking Christ are people dumb. They didn't die in the crash and not from the start, gahhhh

You could see it coming when Hugo told Ben that he was a good #2 and that Hugo was a good #1. Damn what a freakin legendary ending.

I don't get why people think it's Purgatory. Everything on the island happened but this fake reality/heaven was created so they could all find each other after they died.
Yeah I don't think it's purgatory. I think everything that happened happened and season 6 was just Jack's consciousness forming a heaven.

BEST EPISODE OF LOST
BEST END TO ANYTHING EVER

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Seriously

I never expected an ending as perfect as this.

Im so happy, yet I'm still in tears

Yeah, let me clear things up for people:

The island was real.

You hear me?

THE ISLAND WAS REAL.

It was the X-Verse that was the afterlife.

So, in the real world we had Lapidus, Miles, Richard, Kate, Clair and Sawyer flying off to civilization. Did they make it? Who knows?

Hugo was left in charge of the island. Who knows how long his reign was?

But, once again:

THE ISLAND WAS REAL. THEY WERE ALIVE ON THE ISLAND.

No, only the flash sideways was purgatory, everything else actually happened.

Yep this is exactly what I just told my wife while walking up the stairs to get on the computer to see the forthcoming meltdowns.

This is the exact same ending. The ending didn't do anything to explain mythology. Hell most of the "mysteries" of Lost can be explained by Jacob did it. How is that any different than God did it? I really liked them both.

Fantastic episode until the last 15 minutes! Whyyyy!!?! Of course Lost couldn't end without raising one more question :lol

Still, a great series, and that was about as good a finale as I could have hoped for.

So, can one assume the last shots of the plane debris while the credits ran insinuates that they all actually died during the crash?

Everyone keeps saying "no, the island was real" but then why in the world did they show that last shot?

People die in your timeline all the time but in yours you are still alive. They're all still alive though brotha...I fucking guarantee it.

:lol

And here come the butthurt "But this entire show has scientific explanations!!!!" crowd.

Ben didn't "move on" with them because he still felt that he had repentence/atonement in the "purgatory/alt world". I'm guessing that he wants to live that life with Alex for awhile.

Maybe Ben is the one that wakes up some of the people left behind?

PERFECT ending!

Fantastic.

They made us relive and re-experience all the great moments and characters in a way that didn't feel forced or fake at all.

The entire time I was holding my wife I was fighting back tears.

Great job, guys.

Loved it.

But, I can't discuss what I want to discuss with anyone right now. Any brits out there know what I'm talking about?

Seriously, if you do - PM me. I want to talk about it.

Christian said "Some of them died before you, some long after." They didn't all die in the crash, the whole show wasn't purgatory. I expect this post to be ignored.

i read it, thank you.

Are you being sarcastic? Please tell me you are being sarcastic.

Heck no. Season 2 was awesome. So what if it was slow, it was very good. It definitely gave the most impressions considering all the great shirts and posters that came from it.

Like Christian said "there is no now".

Whenever they died in real life they entered this purgatory/alt-timeline. Before they could all go to Heaven they had to wait for everyone to remember and meet up.

I loved the finale, pretty much redeemed the entire season for me...until the weird twist. Oh well! Goodbye Lost, it was great.

Without question one of the best series finales I've ever seen.

Using the sideways as an allegorical remembrance of the series is so brilliant I'm astonished. And I'm super happy they didn't retcon the entire show.

And best of all, Jack fulfilled his desire to fix something with no regrets or remorse. Best written character arc on TV in a long, long time.

Once shock and awe wears off, this finale will go down as one of the best ever, calling it now.

No! Everything that happened after the crash happened!

The characters that died, died.

Hurley and Bens conversation implies that they went on as a team for some time.

The heaven that they were in was years ago, after ALL of them had died.

oh snap.
