Wait, did I miss the 'miles getting diamonds' part?
Frank will hypnotize them with his chesthair... "You will not ask questions, you will not ask questions"DoctorWho said:So how does Lapidus explain the return of the Ajira flight to Air Traffic Control? Some of the people returning on that plane weren't even on it to begin. There's a whole shit storm that would happen on the mainland once Ajira returned. That would be interesting to see. :lol
LINDELOF: Right out of the gate, in the first five minutes of the premiere, you get hit over the head with two things that youre not expecting. The first is that Desmond is on the plane. The second thing that we do is we drop out of the plane and we go below the water and we see that the Island is submerged. What were trying to do there is basically say to you, God bless the survivors of Oceanic 815, because theyre so self-centered, they thought the only effect [of detonating the bomb] was going to be that their plane never crashes. But they dont stop to think, If we do this in 1977, what else is going to affected by this? So that their entire lives can be changed radically. In fact, it would appear that theyve sunken the Island. Thats our way of saying, Keep your eyes peeled for the differences that youre not expecting. Some of these characters were still in Australia, but some werent. Shannons not there. Boone actually says that he tried to get her back. There are all sorts of other people that we dont see. Wheres Libby? Wheres Ana Lucia? Wheres Eko? These are all the things that youre supposed to be thinking about. When our characters posited the What if? scenario, they neglected to think about what the other effects of potentially changing time might be and were embracing those things.
TheBranca18 said:Nope. I've seen it. Just not recently and would like to be able to review it.
Interpret it however you want, but finding continuity errors and being like: "omg they didn't explain this they suck as writers blah blah blah" is completely missing the point of the entire show. You might as well have not watched a single episode.

Not high res (I'm working with what I could find online) but a lot better than the other one.
The version on my computer is 2048x2272 but tinypic resized to 1600.

"Rendered insignificant, [in the finale], were the particulars of what they had done on the island. Pushing buttons, building rafts, blowing up hatches, living, dying all the churning action and melodrama that made Lost so addictive in its early seasons none of it was directly connected to this final outcome, beyond the fact that it constituted the most important part of all their lives."

NY Times sums it up best:
Yeah, man I just realized the significance of everything. It wasn't purgatory it was a specifically manufactured scenario in which the plane landed so they could understand how important their time on the island was.Nameless said:From back in febuary
And in the finally we see that the consequences of this were to give themselves a chance to come full circle. Which is also what LOST ending with Jack closing his eyes symbolized.

Solo said:Sure, I can go with that. Again, they had to shit out the pilot in no time at all. The fact that it became perhaps the finest pilot ever is nothing short of a miracle.
omg rite said:That doesn't sum it up best at all. It makes no sense. Why does pushing the button, hatches blowing up, or ... uh, building a raft ... have to tie in directly to the final episode? That's silly.
Of course, it's wrong anyway. "Pushing the button" and "blowing up hatches" are DIRECTLY connected to the final episode in an incredibly obvious way.

Thats probably the stupidest thing ive read in a long time. All of those things from the early seasons played a part and were connected to the outcome of the season that featured them. Was there anyone that was thinking about Michaels raft or the quest for boar during the last 5 seasons?"Rendered insignificant, [in the finale], were the particulars of what they had done on the island. Pushing buttons, building rafts, blowing up hatches, living, dying all the churning action and melodrama that made Lost so addictive in its early seasons none of it was directly connected to this final outcome, beyond the fact that it constituted the most important part of all their lives."
bachikarn said:yeah, what the hell did they expect? Another computer down there so Desmond would know what numbers to press? What a retarded quote.

I won't even bother quoting them here. Just search #LOST on Twitter and you'll know what I'm saying.

I never said you were missing the point because you found an inaccuracy. I said you're missing the point because 1. you can't get past it, you've devoted a ton of posts to a fucking dog waking Jack up and 2. you're actively searching for them like you're on a crusade.

Mr Cola said:Goddamn, ever since seeing the finale ive just had this nagging sadness about Jack, he died for his friends, he died because he believed, and he died alone, such a great arc and story for the character and in the end he found his peace.
I know its a tv show but thats what im going to take with me, this guy let go and gave everything to help out his friends and protect people, and he died alone![]()
