Maybe I missed something but...

...what happened to the magical box that Ben could just pull whatever he wanted out of. He pulled Locke's dad out of it.

The box is a metaphor, Gnub. Ben said so himself.

Ben called it a metaphor a few episodes later.

So was Dave actually Smokey in disguise trying to get Hurley to kill himself? I'm going through the series again, but I think that there were important explanations late in the 5th/early in the 6th season that I missed. I'm still not sure why Ben was antagonistic toward the losties when he claimed to be answering to Jacob. I can't remember whether or not that's answered in the 5th season finale.

Because he didn't want to admit that he never met Jacob?

I finished watching this show in about a week, but I cannot say that I was entrapped or enthralled by it from season to season. It seemed to have some interesting facets but then it imploded and became a spiral leading into nothingness. In the end, there was nothing.

Then how the hell did you watch it all in a week?

I watched almost every episode in 1.5x-2x the speed using VLC. I didn't want to waste any more time than I needed. Although I was rushing through, the plot was cohesive; however, the show failed to measure up to the hype. It was meandering and paddling nowhere.
The fourth and fifth seasons were completely unnecessary and the end could have been summed up in one or two episodes.

Probably not. Hurley was crazy before the Island. However, Dave could have been a dead person Hurley could talk to. I'm leaning toward it being a hallucination considering Hurley has dreamed up weird stuff before (Like Jin speaking English).

As for Ben, at first he knew nothing about them. For all he knew they worked for Widmore. It never dawned on Ben that he would be replaced as the leader (He saw things too politacally) and also didn't know about candidates.

When he learned that Locke was the new leader it threw him for a loop again and he remained antagonistic despite the fact he needed them to get back to the Island eventually.

Ben was duped by Smokie and apparently Ben never had a relationship with Jacob, so he never knew Jacob's plans.

This is a great idea. I could listen to so much more music this way. This would be great for audiobooks too. It's good to know no integrity of the art is lost.

I'm starting to come to terms with the very real possibility that I might not make it through the imminent traditional OT(Off Topic......sheesh) lock down. Objectively I'd say there's about a 30% chance that I can browse/post on the gaming side exclusively for a week and not get banned.

There definitely needs to be a Via Domus thread made to serve as our caves.

Everyone in this thread should enter the church and be consumed by the light. It's time to move on.

Or, you know... stop posting in it

Oh shit, I forgot about that. D:

At least it didn't happen during the show's run. I think we all would have gone nuts.

Yeah I was thinking that. A "Via Domus" thread can be our safehouse.

Safehouse for what? This thread hasnt fostered any real discussion in like 2 weeks :lol

Its hilarious how LOST's final message describes what many LOST fans are unable to do.

I went into such a lost overdrive in the weeks leading up to the finale and the week after, that I can't bring myself to even think about the show now without getting really bored.

Where else will we post pictures of Kate and Juliet and argue who the hottest Lost chick is?

You guys hear that?

It's a shame John Locke never really got his true post-show Solo avatar outside of a few hours. Solo's avatar progression is the opposite of Jack's character development.

I am trapped in this form now

Why do you find so easy to let go, Solo?

It just has been :lol I havent found it myself thinking about the show....at all - since a few days after ended.
Indeed. there just isn't anything left to think about. As regular of this thread, a heavy regular at that, it's kind of weird to see this thread still percolating to the top. I'm chill with just letting this sub sink off into the deep end.

I can take it or leave it tbh. I still enjoy its presence though. Warms my heart.

You were supposed to say, "Why do you find it so hard"

and I would've replied. " I've never been hard..."

LOST.

Honestly though, I stick around LG for the posters--shocker most of GAF ain't this cool.
