How can you hate someone who did this:

"Went to Costa Rica on her honeymoon. While there, she and her husband helped newly-hatched baby turtles crawl from their nest to the ocean, ensuring that the group survived instead of being attacked by predators."

From imdb.com
While I personally don't think there's anything truly wrong with doing that, as baby turtles rock, aren't you not supposed to do that?

This is the best show I've ever watched. Every single episode was quality television. Every single one of them.

Huh, wonder if this is a coincidence

http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200504/s1340116.htm
Seven baby turtles were found dead off the coast of Costa Rica yesterday. Investigaters suspect they were drowned to death by unknown assailants. The death toll is expected to rise.

SPOILERS FOLLOW!!!

blatz,

Jack is calling Boone's death murder based on the sentence fragments Boone uttered?!?! WTF Jump to conclusions much?

I'm guessing it has more to do with Locke's behavior. For one, Boone's fragmented description of the incident made it obvious that Locke was lying. When you couple that with him running off, it makes Locke appear more than suspicious. The fact Jack was asking for specific details of the accident - in order to help assess Boone’s injuries - when he ran off, only furthers the case against him.

It would be going too far to assume Locke left specifcally with the intention Boone couldn’t recover without said details, but from Jack’s perspective this is just another fucked up action to add to the list. Yeah ... it wouldn’t have mattered. Boone could not have survived the injuries on this island, but it’s still a dick move. Really, the timing of his exodus doesn’t matter as much as the lying and the leaving in general – but still, imagine getting hit with all of this at once. Then, you're trying your damnedest to save Boone, going so far as to promise you could save him, but have to finally let go for the first time in your life.

Well, at least that we know of. The marriage thing looks like Jack couldn’t let go – so he went through with the marriage – and then it fell apart. If that’s true, then letting Boone go was a huge thing for Jack – and he’s probably in a bit of a fucked up place right now when you add it up.

Great episode, although not as good last episode (the final sequences were incredible), it was still a very moving episode.

LOST IS AWESOME! AWESOME IS LOST!

My friend missed it and made me watch it with him again.

I still got a little misty eyed. I think it is the music, it is so damned moving. Or maybe I'm just a sensitive wuss.

What do they mean by special one hour episode? did they mean two hour? Or did they mean one hour total not counting commercials?

From thefutoncritic:

ABC will air a one-hour "introductory guide" to Lost. The special is designed to help new viewers catch up on the series' sometimes dense mythology as well as act as a refresher course for regular fans. The "Lost" special, set to air on Wednesday, April 27 at 8:00/7:00c (the show's regular time period), will focus on the characters of Jack (Matthew Fox), Kate (Evangeline Lilly), Locke (Terry O'Quinn), Sawyer (Josh Holloway) and Charlie (Dominic Monaghan) and retell their respective backstories in a linear fashion. It's unclear however how the clips will be introduced and if the hour will include any "behind-the-scenes"-type footage.

The moment when Boone told Jack dont save me with the music and breathing I LOST it. Without even thinking the tears started flowing. Not since the end of Buffy Season 5 has a show made me cry like that

In Closing.

^AWESOME !

Finally got round to watching it.

I thought they were saving some sort of hatch-revelation for the very last scene and was pissed when they didn't show it! :lol I mostly agree with what was said above - a good to great episode but not as good as last week.

The music in the show is awesome, in an earlier thread someone said it should get some sort of award, I agree, it's awesome and there was some great music tonight.

I'm guessing everyone's seen it by now but if you haven't, SPOILERS AHOY!

I thought the bit at the end where Hurley pointed out Sayid and Shannen walking back all lovey-dovey... See, I knew it was coming but it was done well, I couldn't help but let out an "Oh shit...." because of what was coming. I think Boone wanted to say "Tell Shannen I love her" - it would've tied in with her telling Sayid about his feelings for her earlier on.

Didn't see the preview (curse you lot for posting details... and my inability to avoid reading it ;)) but it sounds like Locke's in for some shit. Not looking good from Jack's perspective!

But 4 weeks? I am cry. I'm not used to watching TV like this!

I'm curious you guys, what genre does this show fall under? SciFi? Horror? Mystery? Drama? Suspense? Soap Opera? All of the above? I've been trying to explain what kind of show it is, and the only thing I can come up with is fiction, without going to much into detail without ruining the show.

Drama with SciFi and Adventure influence. If you make it out to be SciFi, the back stories will seem boring, but if you don't emphasize the occasional SciFi and Adventure elements it seems less interesting.

Why, Survival Horror of course! :D

So, i'm watching Desperate Housewives(save the snickering)...and they're showing promos for LOST, and they show the part with Boone saying he's a surivor of oceanic flight 185(or whatever)....someone in the other thread said that the person on the other end of the radio said there were no survivors, but hearing it again(and again), it sounds like the person says "We're the survivors of flight 185".

"Where are" ?

Ok, LOST nerds, it's time for some major factoids.

In LOST Episode #19, at exactly 33 minutes and 32 seconds into the show, you see Boone look through the Beachcraft and find the radio intact. If you look at the dials on the radio, you will see that the clock, in analog format, is at 20:15. If you follow the show, you will notice that this time/number is of significance. The watches, the flight number, etc.

Also, same episode, at exactly 34 minutes and 27 seconds, you hear the radio dispatcher say "there are no surviving people on Oceanic Flight 815." I played a 10 second clip back and forth about 20 times and the guy on the other end definitely says "there are no surviving people on Oceanic Flight 815."

Check it out for yourselves.

I saw the same promos twice tonight for LOST and I heard the same thing, "We're the survivors..." Odd? Or maybe he was repeating the message back? Best show on TV by far. Used to be 24, but LOST is easily my favorite show this year. And Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy are damn good too. ABC is where it's at.

Where did you download the clip? I do want to check it out myself. :)

I checked out abc.com's Lost web site and they have forums there as well. It's confirmed by many people that for some strange reason the voice-over was changed for the commercials. Interesting that they'd decide to change a plot-point like that. So instead of saying "There are NO survivors of flight..." it now says "No, We are the survivors of flight..." Many speculate it could be the "tail section" of the plane survivors talking back? Who know :)

Ahhh, so i'm not the only one who heard that...weird that they would change it on the promo...and yeah when I heard that I thought the same thing as you, that it could be people from the other part of the plane from another part of the island(or another place altogether)....or it's some weird time-paradox crap ala Dennis Quaid's "Frequency". And yes, Desperate Housewives is a great show :D

Lost creator Damon Lindelof talks about the the last few episodes and the finale:

-- Early on, Jack found some skeletons and a pouch containing black-and-white rocks. Explain.
''The black-and-white stones have been a recurring theme in the show,'' says executive producer Damon Lindelof (e.g., Locke's favorite board game, backgammon, and the mysterious Black Rock). ''We know who those skeletons are, what their story was, and what they were doing with those stones. But that's a question we won't be answering this season.''

-- Sawyer's backstory intersects with the Jack and Shannon/Boone histories. Does his pre-island life converge with any or all of the others? ''No comment,'' says Lindelof. ''But we'll see, before the end of the season, why he popped up in Boone's flashback.''

- - Earlier this season, someone knocked out Sayid while he was trying to operate the plane's radio. Who did it, and why? ''You will find out within the next three original episodes, definitively,'' Lindelof says. ''They will find the person, and that person will confess to having done it.''

- - What's Locke's motive for keeping the hatch secret from the other castaways?''His motive is revealed soon,'' says Lindelof. ''Everything Locke does he believes is in the best interest of everybody. That's all I'll say.''

- - Will Michael's raft set sail by season's end — and who will be on it? ''All I can say is, how much would it suck if it didn't set sail?'' asks Lindelof. ''Wouldn't you feel ripped off? I sure would! As to who is on it? Well, the roster ain't set. Yet.''

- - Charlie was hooked on heroin. Recently, Locke and Boone found heroin on a plane. Discuss. ''One of the things that has made Charlie's ability to kick the habit so easy is that he hasn't had any temptation,'' says Lindelof. ''Reintroducing temptation is part of our intent. The good news, for now, is that he doesn't know that the plane is out there.''

- - The lotto numbers: What the hell? ''Trying to find greater meaning in the numbers is the direction we are going to continue in for the rest of season 1,'' says Lindelof. ''Hurley doesn't know that the numbers are on the hatch — what happens when he finds out that the numbers are on the hatch should be interesting. Wouldn't you think?''

- - Jin worked for his brutish father-in-law; what exactly was his job title? ''He was the executive assistant in charge of finger breaking,'' jokes Lindelof. ''People always ask, 'What's Jin's problem?' There are a few missing pieces that will make it even clearer by season's end why he's acted the way he's acted.'' Source: Entertainment Weekly (Thanks Sienna for the tip.)

# 04/08 - During an interview, Ian Somerhalder (Boone), the actor made a few revelations about the monster. He said something that can be resumed to: "You will see a piece of what it is during the 2-hour season finale, and it should clear up some questions" One other detail he let slip was that his character shows up one more time this season. I'm hoping it will be in a flashback, not as a corpse in a funeral scene. Source: Live with Regis and Kelly (Thanks Chris and Bob for the tip.)

# 04/08 - Death is "in the DNA" of a show with so many regular characters and an air of imminent danger, Lindelof says. He and fellow executive producer J.J. Abrams decided to have the death come now so that the ramifications could play out leading up to the two-part, three-hour season finale (May 18 and 25, 8 p.m. ET/PT). And "that's not to say Boone is the only character who dies this season," Lindelof says. Source: USA Today (Thanks E Rabb for the tip.)

So, who else is going to kick the bucket. I don't think it'll be Locke, even though they teased at it in the upcoming preview.

It sounds as if they're not sure themselves if another character is going to die, since his statement is kind of vague. Although, I'm pretty sure they have everything filmed by now, so maybe they have a few versions filmed and have yet to decide.

I dunno who they'll off, though (if they do). But I'm sure it won't be Jack or Kate, who are (arguably) the two main characters of the show. I also doubt they'll kill Locke and Sawyer, who are pretty big fan favorites.

Wow, looks like we'll be getting some answers soon

Yep, and I'm happy about it! The info I posted above is from the 4/15/05 issue of EW (article can be found here at lostmultimedia. In it, they say they've learned from the mistakes of both Twin Peaks and X-Files: Questions must be answered and there can't be too much 'mythology'. Both of which I was VERY happy to hear! One of my biggest fears is that it could end up being 'X-Files on an island'...
