New Additions:

Michelle Rodriguez

Damon Lindelof on new cast member Michelle Rodriguez:
"We know she was sitting in the tail section of the plane, so we know that there was at least one other survivor of the crash who's been out there leading this sort of Tom Hanks-ian castaway existence by herself. [...] But I think people are really compelled to see what's been going on with her for the last 45 days. She's had her whole own second show going on, we just weren't watching it. So, when she joins the cast, she has two backstories: (1) everything that happened pre-crash, and (2) everything that happened between the crash and when we meet her. We're gonna tell that story in one awesome concept episode. I'm not gonna tell you when, but we haven't talked about it with anyone before you, so that'll be pretty kick-ass."

Cynthia Watros

(i think that's her)

She joins as the (much needed) Island shrink.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Say that 5 times fast, hell, say it once slowly and i'll be impressed)

adawale.jpg

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje was recently added as the mysterious character Emeka, who suddenly appears on the island

And many more apparently

First four episodes focus on:

1. Jack
2. Sawyer, Michael or Jin (one of the raft crew)
3. Locke
4. Hurley (HORAY)

Episode 1:

# Jorge Garcia (Hurley) revealed: "They go rig right in with the creepy Twilight Zoneness and everything. It's all about goin' down that hole." "It's on the level, of like, Locke in a wheelchair," Jorge Garcia (Hurley) says. "The great thing about it is you learn a little bit about what's in the hatch, and as you go through the first few episodes, more comes together, and you realize that it's a much more significant thing than it was at the start of the show." According to Dominic Monaghan (Charlie), we won't miss a beat. "I think between the end of the first season and the start of the second there's about 35 seconds," he said. "So, you're right in the midst of this action."

Sounds awesome.

Theres loads more spoilers and possible discussion points, but ill let others post them as they like.

Theres also new stuff on oceanic-air.com including new season 2 clips.

Heres some more for this thread that havent been posted yet.

During a radio interview for L.A. rock station KROQ, J.J. Abrams said that the network and one of the actors on the show couldn't agree to terms on a new contract and therefore the actor will be payed his desired rate for one or two episodes and then he said the actor will be killed off the show and won't be featured in any flashback sequences. Abrams also talked a little bit about the Ana-Lucia character and he confirmed that Michelle Rodriguez would be a full time castmember in season two. He said a writer named Carlton Cuse was researching Che Guevara because of Ana-Lucia's leadership storyline. The only other thing he mentioned was that the characters on the raft eventually return to the island but it's not the part of the island they were hoping for.

ok, Michelle Rodriguez being a full time cast member has pretty much killed my interest in season 2. and mind you, i REALLY like this show.

let me guess, she's going to play a tough chick that can kick butt? someone fucking kill me.

I've just this moment finished watching the final episode of season one (slow day at work) :D

Didn't even realise there was a season 2 until I saw this topic... although I kinda realised that something was up when there was only 20 minutes to go of the finale, I was thinking 'There's NO way they can tidy up all these story theads before the end of the episode'.

Anyway, now I'm hooked, can't wait for season 2 to start, I need some answers damnit! And Curb Your Enthusiasm can't start soon enough either!

Ummm... Lost was in the Top 5 as far as ratings last season, and you didn't realize there would be a Season 2?

Anyway, thanks for the updates and spoilers that teased a bit of info as well. Can't wait for the new season to start either, and the new commercials they're running are really getting me anxious for new epsidoes.

Re: Michelle Rodriguez

#1- I think "girl power" might still be a big draw for the female audience

#2- You can't underestimate the allure of a love triangle

I'm not saying its a difficult choice (obviously opinion) but my bet is that Michelle will try to make the move on Jack and with Kate's increasing distance.. emotional fireworks.

i cringed when i saw her scene last season. this is like the worst thing ever. :( i'm seriously going to have to mute all of Michelle's scenes.

Christ she's annoying.

That'll be because I'm in the UK ;) We're very far behind you guys, I think we're only on Ep3 or 4 of Season 1 right now... thank god for newsgroups/bittorrent!

Ahh... ok. Well, that's a good enough excuse than! :D

Anyone think that Rodriguez's character may replace Kate? Perhaps she is the one who is demanding more cash and is getting written out. Jack and Rodriguez were already flirting with one another in the flashback scenes and she seems to have an edge to her much like Kate. I hope I'm wrong, as I like Evangeline Lilly, and she did a great job in season 1, but if you saw the commercial last night during the football game, it makes you wonder.

# 08/29 - About the Lost death: Female. October (I think, at least that was the original plan). NOT at the hands of the “monster.” And also … another one bites the dust ... a male cast member is leaving the show for good. But this one WON'T be a death. I hear [there will be about] 5 to 8 [new characters], and some (most?) of them are buddy-buddy with Ana-Lucia, who’s living a harsh existence elsewhere on the island. I also hear that our raft friends will be separated from the rest of the bunch for the first third of the season, but they will be interacting with others (possibly The Others, or other others). Also, Kate is going to run into a bit of life-threatening peril … but you knew that already if you watched the clip on oceanicflight815.com.One of the storylines will leave you STOWked. # 08/25 - At long last, you'll find out what's inside the hatch, as will the three survivors who venture inside. "We made a bold choice," says executive producer Carlton Cuse. "It's something we ourselves felt was cool." Not to mention freaky and thrilling. As for the guys on the raft? "Those who survived are seperated from the main group for the first third of the season," reveals executive producer Damon Lindelof. So not everyone survived? Lindelof won't say -- he's more willing to discuss who's coming than going. Jack's wife, Sarah (Julie Bowen), returns in the premiere, as does his father. And at least two actors - Michelle Rodriguez and Oz's Adewale Akinnyoye-Agbaje - join the cast. Rodriguez reprises her role as Ana-Lucia, a passenger who crossed paths with Jack in the Season 1 finale. Her arrival on the island will turn the Jack-Kate-Sawyer triangle into "a romantic trapezoid," Lindelof says. Akinnuoye-Agbaje will play Emeka, a Nigerian character living on the island. Hmmm... might he know something about that Beech-craft plane full of heroin and the bones of Nigerian drug smugglers? Source: TV Guide (Printed edition)

I hope Charlie isnt the one with contractual problems but he seems like the most likely suspect imo.

What's in the Hatch spoilers:

In a way, it's something you've never seen before. But in a way, it's something you see every day and are probably seeing right now. Okay, another hint: It begins and ends with the same letter

Lines from Ep1:

LOCKE: "You're lighter. I can belay you down and bring you back up just as easy. Shaft may be narrower down there, too."

KATE: "You left out the part where you just wanna see if I'm gonna be eaten by something."

In other Hatch news...Terry O'Quinn(Locke) is worried that what you see in Ep 1 is "Not huge enough".

In Raft related news:

Jin has flashbacks in 2.05, so he must survive at least that long

And That would mean 2.02 is about Michael or Sawyer, Im thinking probably Michael with the whole Walt situation. Does that mean...Sawyer dead? That'd suck.

In other news, Shannon will see Walt in the forest in 2.01 (WTF).

p.s 20 DAYS TO GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I hear the real impact and consequences of what's in the hatch isn't fully revealed until the third episode.

How would a character leave the show permanently but not die? That would have to involve the guy getting off the island, right? It'd be kinda lame if he simply ran off on the island and was never heard from again.

Guess we should just wait for the show to reveal itself. Sounds like there are significant events in the works though.
