And on the sixth day the LORD David Bowie created man and woman in His image. And he saw that it was good. On the seventh day the LORD created videogames so that He might take the bloody day off for once.

Press Release for episode 10! With a guest cast list like that, there are no excuses for this not being the best Sun/Jin episode yet!
Yeah, this is probably where I draw the line for myself. Your reaction tells me the surprises are gonna be worth it! :D

I'm gonna be avoiding more stuff in general from now on.

It's nothing huge; in all honesty you could probably guess one of them. The other, however, is pretty awesome and kinda unexpected!

My speculation, based on later episode titles and what we just saw in the amazing Ab Aeterno:

The flash sideways are all of the characters dying and flashing into their split timeline selves. The finale title "What They Died For" makes me think that everyone will die. It's clear that MIB is nothing more than evil and his promises are directly opposite to Jacob's.

Sayid wants 'the woman who died in his arms' back, and MIB says it's okay. Richard wants 'his dead wife' back, and Jacob says no dice.

So my theory is something big is going to happen prior to the finale where all of our LOSTies die. Perhaps it's something to do with Widmore, perhaps not. But much like Juliette dying and having a brief moment of flashing over, everyone will flash to the point that was affected most by the island. That being the plane crash.

Yes? No? Maybe?

OH!
And back after the season premiere, I read a HUGE spoiler accidentally regarding this episode. I kept posting that I wanted to share it with someone because it was so big. As the season went on, it became clear that it mustn't have been that big. After seeing this episode, it was no where close to true.

For those of you that want to know the 'spoiler', it was:

Claire, Kate, and Sayid were prisoners on the Black Rock.

Knowing nothing about the finale season at that point, it was like "OH MY GOD!!?!?"

Wow yeah, I read that spoiler as well. And it was tied in to the number as well.

Glad to see it turned out to be bull.

Regarding episode 16
what they died for
I have a feeling it will take place
entirely in LA X, or at least the majority of it will
So that is pretty close to your theory.

While I feel like we know the overall arc the story will take regarding good vs. evil, I have no clue what's going to happen next :lol

I think this episode was probably the biggest indication yet as to why we're seeing the flashsideways.

I really, really want to see MIB off the island, just strolling around causing problems for people :lol

I remember reading a huge spoiler accidentally last season which turned out to not be true, but I was mega pissed off at the time, but still all "HOLY SHIT!!!". It claimed that at the end of episode 13 of Season 5 it would cut to two people (a girl and a boy, about 30 years old) talking to each other on the beach, actually eerily similar to Jacob and MIB in the finale which I of course didn't have a clue about at the time and at the end they'd name drop one another -- Aaron and Ji-Yeon.

That was in the rumour section of DarkUFO (which I never read, as about half of them come true), but one of his trusted sources who has given him true stuff confirmed it so he put it in the confirmed spoilers section but didn't edit the title of the spoiler which essentially gave away the whole thing (Something like "Aaron and Ji-Yeon 30 years in the future on the island") and that popped up in the RSS feed at the top of the site even if you were in a spoiler free section. Since then all spoiler articles have censored titles in the feed, but I'm glad it wasn't true (just 'cos it would have ruined the surprise) but it's also good to know that even his decent sources drop him some foilers from time to time, so we can never truly know whats going to happen until it airs.

I have to wonder if they shoot extra 'bullshit' scenes, or at least throw characters who aren't involved in a scene, to throw off everyone.

I think back to the Sawyer/Locke/Desmond in the coffin scene.

First impressions of the finale script from Nestor Carbonell. No real spoilers, just his overall feelings on it --

The writers, yet again, just knocked it out of the park with the series finale. You'll see it as the season progresses, what they've come up with is pretty mind-blowing. I'm definitely very fulfilled not just about my character but with the whole show in general. It's an incredible task and they blew me away with what they come up with.

I got the script late, it was like 10 something at night, and usually I go to bed fairly early because you've got to put the kids, but no, I was up at 12:30, pouring through it, reading pieces of it again. There's a lot of tight security as far as scripts—we all have to be there when they're delivered, but I was really, really, thrilled to get it, and again, just blown away with what they wrote. I'm anxious for people to see it and we're in the process of shooting it now.

There's going to be major heartbreak, there's going to be some very emotional stuff coming down the pike. But the emotional stuff, the payoff will be great. When you see it, and as I read it, it made complete sense what they were doing, and they're doing it in such a beautiful way, what it needs to be. And again, without giving away too much, I think people will be fulfilled even as they may be crying.

holy shit, I remember stumbling on that too and being really pissed about it. And then I think Kristin from E said that the finale would feature a wedding, I thought "fuck, that must be Aaron and Ji Yeon's wedding", but it was just Jin and Sun. :lol

I heard that the Losties were going to go to the temple and find and aged Pierre Chang leading the other there :lol

I just really wish that
Claire will go back to her normal hot mode, everytime I see her not being hot and fappable a part of me dies

You just reminded me of one of the strong rumours I read, that the Temple was going to be ran by really old versions of all of the losties. Would have been worth it to see Hurley as an old man.

I like the finality to it, and the fact that it's surprisingly unsurprising. Obviously it's not blowing my mind, but it doesn't intend to.
That's a great way of putting it actually. I would like them to change it, but what else would they change it to? It's is fitting, I guess.

Oh man, just actually reading the name of the last episode is almost making me shed a tear.

This really is it. Lost really is finishing. :(

Crazy...

It's tough to rely on NC for an unbiased look at the finale script. He is a well paid actor on the show, wouldn't want to upset the bosses.

Works for me, I guess.

"It Only Ends Once" would've been more distinctive though, and also carry the same meaning.

Nailed it. It's so...obvious that no one thought of it.

It's only "perfect" 'cause Darlton said so :p

damn Sayid.

That Sayid shit looks very interesting... next episode already redeemed? (I have a feeling since forever that next week's episode will suck).

Also I found out something about Lock in the alternate timeline... not really a big spoilarz just something curious (maybe better if you don't know before hand, but you'll probably know by the beginning of the episode, it's from ep. 14 btw):

Poor Jin and Sun. Probably second lowest on GAF's character-centric totem pole. :lol

Solid Moustache, that's not suitable for this thread, and I'm angry and bitter for being tempted in that way and having it spoiled for me. BITTER.

*edit* Actually, I misread, so it's not AS bad :p

That's why I hesitated before quoting him, didn't want to risk seeing it without the spoiler tag. Had to manually copy/paste instead.

Meh I kind of like Jin better than Kate, Jack and Hugo. If you can count previous characters too there are even more worse than them too (Charlie, Shannon...).

Sun and Jins episodes sucked pretty hard in the beginning but they are fine now.

Sun and Jin have no purpose on the show other than to eventually get back together. Take away that and they may as well not be there. It's hard to get excited for them.
