And on the sixth day the LORD David Bowie created man and woman in His image. And he saw that it was good. On the seventh day the LORD created videogames so that He might take the bloody day off for once.

Sun and Jin have no purpose on the show other than to eventually get back together. Take away that and they may as well not be there. It's hard to get excited for them.
Very true. They've been non-characters to me ever since last season. Maybe even a little before that.

wow, next episode is about jin and sun?
I don't even know why they have those Jin/Sun episodes to be honest. Absolutely useless. I'll probably just skip all their flashsideways :lol

Harsh, but fair.

If you like fanfiction, next week's flashsideways sounds fun at least!

Completely agree. Sun is easily the worst character on the show and I don't remember the last time Jin was interesting. Probably when he tried to kick Michael's ass.

Daaaamn @ all of the Sun & Jin hate. I'll admit, Sun hasn't done much but ask around about Jin and stare out into the distance clutchinhb[/LIST] his ring. Still like her, though. But Jin has always been cool. He's never cracked my top 5 or anything, but I can't bash him either.

But what I can say is I really enjoy their episodes. Their on/off island narratives tend to connect & parallel in really intersting ways. Like Ji Yeon where you had the flashforward/flashback/on-island stories all coming together brilliantly or This Place is Death where the writers managed to tell a really cool love story through space & time. And Found & DOC are two other amazingly put together episodes.

So yeah, I'm excited for their ep next week. Crazy to think they've been apart since season 4.

I wish Across the Sea was going to be 2 hours, or two separate episodes. As it is now, I don't think we're going to get nearly the level of detail on many things I want, unless Ben, Widmore and Richard start interjecting meaningful information into every conversation they are a part of.

After the cork analogy, Across The Sea sounds even more epic.

It seems like I've always liked Jin and Sun episodes more than other people, so I'm pretty excited about this one. Plus,
Keamy and Mikhail are working in the X together
, and that's just ridiculous enough to warrant interest.

Why do people have to change the fucking rules all the time. MINOR SPOILERS, PEOPLE.

That's a minor spoiler... lol I knew people were going to think I was talking about locke reviving :lol but it's not that, and it's pretty much minor.

Probably. Smokey can't kill candidates and she ain't one.

And an obvious choice besides that.

Kate's a candidate.

I love Jin and Sun, and most of their flashbacks. I almost always hold stuff like this against the writers, not really the characters, if that makes sense. They really dropped the ball.

When characters that I find interesting are neglected to this degree by the writers, it's especially frustrating. Season 5 started them on their path to irrelevancy. They've become nothing more than repetitive tag-a-longs, put on the back-burner until their long-overdue reunion. Not much has been explored about them as individuals since then. "Ji-Yeon" and season 4 was their last hurrah.

I'm hoping this ep can turn things around.

Jin is an awesome character. I loved This Place is Death, mainly because of Jin.
But fuck man, Sun.. she's just hard for me to like. She's a lot more intersting on island, than off island.

jin and sun need to find each other already and have some reunion sex or something.

this has been going on for way too long.

So guys, all of the talk about Christian in the 6.09 official thread made me think we're probably getting an explanation of what he is, where is his body, etc. in episode
14
because
it's jack centric
In fact I have a little theory.. maybe the title doesn't only refer to
_____jack as a candidate
but could also possibly mean
Christian is the man in black's candidate
and that's why the EP. is called
the candidate and not the candidates
. That would be friggin epic,
father vs son
, both on different sides. What do you guys think?

In fact.. maybe the episode isn't
jack centric
as rumored but actually
christian-centric
... lol imagine the reactions (like we saw last week with this week episode being richard centric). And that's why they're holding it for now.. (but at the same time they released ep 15's press release with the info about it being
mib & jacob
-centric which is also quite revealing

If we get a Christian episode, I'll throw my hands up in the air and declare this the best season of them all. Fuck the rest of the centric episodes, Christian is the one character-centric ep everyone wants, but no one will ask for.

There's hope for your exploding penis dream yet.

Wiki doesn't have the centric characters for 13 or 14. I don't know if there are other "sources" out there with more info.

I thought "The Last Recruit" was a Jack episode?

Edit: Or "The Candidate." Can't remember which one...

I'm pretty sure The Last Recruit is a Jack ep, and The Candidate has no centricity.

Wouldn't be a lost season if there weren't multiple Jack eps!

Even if The Lighthouse seemed fairly conclusive IMO. More so than sawyer's Recon, which felt like part 1 of a 2 part story.

I'm sure they're all going to come together in the finale though, so Sawyers flash-sideways will probably pick up then.

I read that 14 has no character centricity, but I don't know if that's true or not.

If it doesn't have character centricity then it's pretty obvious the title means The Chosen one in other words we will see who will finally replace Jacob.

SpeedingUptoStop said:
I hope it's not christian, because I'd like to not have my dick explode while I'm still alive.

Hell, my tits exploded after Richard's episode... can't imagine what would happen with a Christian episode.

Jack's character development has been very interesting over the last few weeks of his life (remember, Through The Looking Glass, with him on a bridge ready to jump off and taking pills, was only 2~3 weeks ago).

Bring on the Jack episodes!

Jacob's speech to Richard:

That man who sent you to kill me believes that everyone is corruptable because it's in their very nature to sin. I bring people here to prove him wrong. And when they get here, their past doesn't matter.

And what's the first episode title after the generic "Pilot"?

Tabula Rasa (Clean/blank slate)

Lol have you guys seen the Lost Slapdown videos? :lol

In the 2nd one they say that if you take "Johnny" + 2 vowels + 2 consonants = anagram of a big lost secret/clue.

Well..

Johnny + 2 vowels + 3 consonants + anagram =
Johnny Locke

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Lol it's obviously a joke since they also said the clue was in a foreign language and "johnny locke" is not in a foreign language..

I haven't heard any casting information about it, but I read a bit more than I wanted to about 14, so I've kind of been on blackout since.

Concerning
jack ?
or
..christian?!?
or something unrelated?

Also, after reading next week's press release and knowing that it will be esentially Flocke/Sun&Jin centric (like the substitute) I'm guessing we will see young jacob again (I'm not sure if that boy was jacob but it's pretty friggin' obvious if you ask me, who else could he be?), I hope it's true, that boy looks so cute in a spoiler pic I saw *_* and in general too.

I'm hoping episode 13 "the last recruit" is a "claire / christian" centric episode. That would be pretty awesome,.

Sounds like eps. 13 and 14 are the only remaining ones that arent confirmed yet with respect to centricity. Well, eps 16-18 too, but I think we're all assuming they'll be focused on everyone.

I was thinking about ep. 16 though.
"What They Died For"
I dont think its going to mean an onslaught of death, but rather be in relation to all the Losties who've died along the way. I mean, if
Charlie and Boone are each supposed to be in like 3 episodes
, and they havent yet shown up again, I can only assume that its for the finale.

Stuff we'll get answered:

Mib's > smoke connection, etc
Adam & Eve
The locked room in the sub
Possibly why the island was underwater in the premiere

I didn't read the answers themselves just the questions that would be asnwered so I'm really excited we will see answers to question 2 and 4 and how they come up with explanations.
