Lttp: Burnout Paradise

Quite possibly my fav game of this generation. NFS Hot Pursuit's poor sandbox mode made me want to play it again, even the Most Wanted remake isn't looking like a step up from Paradise :(

Just want Criterion to make another Burnout

I have never played the old Burnout games, so maybe that is part of why I liked it more than some do - I don't miss things that are different or missing from the old games.

I absolutely loved Paradise, and it would be great if they made another one. The DLC was worth it (that's always subjective, but for the amount of time I spent playing it, it was), and there's so much to do. The seamless nature of online (PS3) was a big part of that, too. And going to change your car in the middle of a challenge is great. Barrel roll challenge? BRB, gonna go get my [whatever].

I wonder if the game's online still works, and if there's any community. I wouldn't mind jumping back on.

I absolutely adore this game. No wait, I absolutely fucking adore this game. Oh the hours I spent in the quarry...

Plus it introduced me to the goodness that is Brand New.

Seriously one of the best games of this generation. I haven't played it in forever, but I remember it extremely fondly. Fun soundtrack (Hey hey, you you! I don't like your girlfriend!), amazing visuals, and seriously just ace gameplay.

Most game ever.

One of the most progressive and under rated games of this generation (even though it's rated pretty highly).

If you haven't played it you deserve to be crucified.

I've played it yesterday and god how could I forgor how fun it is to drive motos in this game. Sense ofvspeed, sound... pure awesomeness. Please give me a sequel EA
with dirt bikes :p

i read some content is blocked/not accessible on PC version. is that true? i'm planning on buying it. I hope the community is still active...

Split/Second is an enjoyable experience, but nothing to come back to. You also need to race in bumper cam to get any feeling of speed thanks to the (slow) 30fps that it generates. THe later cars feel fast, but not the blistering speed you'd expect from other arcade racers.

Unbounded is a lot of fun but the difficulty really spikes up quite substantially in the last 25% of the game. One of the few arcade racers I enjoyed but gave up trying to finish due to this.

You weren't kidding. Jesus Christ. I love a challenge, but the latter cities are just straight up impossible. The rubberbanding is by far the worst I've ever come across, far exceeds Motorstorm levels....which I thought would never be possible for any game, ever.

O_O

Still working on getting the video of Burnout 5 up again.

But for now, have this:

Thread reminded me that I had it sitting unplayed in my Origin account that I set up last year when it was given away for free, so thanks for the reminder. First impressions are good although I haven't played anything in the genre for ages to compare it too.

Just spotted the thread ...

Burnout paradise made the right choices ..
i will not sell this game anytime soon..

Vanilla game was very good ... but the game became godly once it added day/night cycles and bikes... and then became legendary with legendary cars and big surf ..i paid because that was good stuff and the amount of things i got for free before...

Dj was awesome , custom soundtrack was impressive ..i can't have more praise for a game..

When you can have fun in a quary with 7 people just doing backflips and mid air crashes ...you know something is great...

TAKE ME DOWN TO THE PARADISE CITY WHERE THE GRASS IS GREEN AND THE GIRLS ARE PRETTY OH WON'T YOU PLEASE TAKE ME HOME

I picked this game up for $4.99. It has been my favorite racing game of the generation. The driving is great, not to mention stellar graphics.

And don't you dare complain about the best licensed track I have ever heard in a video game.

Picked this up this week. One of the big games I missed out on during my short gaming hiatus a few years ago. (Can't believe this game is 4 years old). Burnout 3 was one of my favorite games last gen, maybe all time.

Holy shit this game is fucking awesome. I'm having so much fun right now. Can only imagine how incredible it was when the community was more active, seems like a blast. Though I've been playing vanilla offline pretty much.

I know the PSN version seems to come with all the DLC but I got in on XBL for controller preference. Really wish there was a DLC option that allowed me to get everything, like all the car packs + Big Surf Island. Any recommendations for DLC? Should I just grab BSI after I finish most of the game?

fake edit: I have something like 20/75 cars. Does that 75 total include all the optional DLC stuff or is it just vanilla? Should I check the bikes out? Got the patch, but not sure how it works. Guess you just unlock more bikes when you start using them.

I know it's not OT, but FUCK RR:U. FUCK IT, FUCK IT, FUCK IT, FUCK IT, FUCK IT. Never have I played a game where the AI cheats so blatantly or so aggressively.

Seriously FUCK YOU RR:U AND FUCK YOU BUGBEAR FOR SUCH SHITTY AI. FUCK ALL Y'ALL.
