Ghost of sparta I didn’t know this game existed and it’s remarkable I was lucky to have it on my psn account somehow which is interesting, it’s fun and it’s hard to find something wrong with it.

One of ghost of Sparta’s themes is forgiving your brother, it moved off of zeus, ares, and instead started looking at Kratos and his brother Demos.

I remember people being amazed by the psp in 2006, ghost of Sparta was the second half of the psps lifespan, Sony already made up their mind on the VITA and still released this cute story of a game and I love it more for that.

Here’s the thing, what you notice is the Arcady gameplay, I think the cutscenes are good, there’s the anti Kratos crowd but I don’t think they matter, there’s vengeance here and anytime you get a power up, or upgrade it really throttles things up and you’re in the teeth of gods like Thanatos (god of death) and this game really should be in the god of war 1-3, 2018, ragnarok conversation.

Those are my after game reports, it’s a fun little game to be embraced that should be played once every 5 years.

What did GAF think of “Ghost of Sparta”?

Working on platinum of all old GoW games. Recently just finished Ascension, next one is Chain of Olympus.

The stark contrast I found when playing those games is how gameplay took 90% of the whole playthrough, even if there were cutscenes, they rarely had more than 10 lines each. Very refreshing compared to modern games.
Now there’s another level to cutscenes though.

I bought my brother a version of GOW3 that had a code to redeem both PSP games for PS3, when he was ready to play the PSP games the codes were already expired :messenger_tears_of_joy:
There was a physical God Of War: Origins Collection release for PS3 that had Chains Of Olympus and Ghost Of Sparta on it. Can probably snag it on eBay or a used/retro game store for a fair price.

It’s a damn good God Of War game - I remember buying a PSP just so I could play these. Thanks for reminding me, I’d love to go through and replay this again.

I didn't ever care for the GoW games too much (there's other better action games), but even still it was a real travesty what became of the series.

The two PSP games were great, indeed. Glad I still have those.
Wish I still had GoW 3, but I sold it a long time ago. Would love to give that one another go, too.

I mean there aren’t any bad GOW games really, Ascension is maybe the weakest but still good. Both PSP games are excellent though so hope the rumours of a remake/remaster of the classic games are true.
