The Constant is great, so is Richards Episode, teared up in both. Eko was a fine ass character. Season 3 finale was :O. Daniel Faraday and his skinny ties <3. Ben is great.

I loved season 5, that finale shocked me more so than season 3.

Fun show but flawed and kind of laughable when you really think about it. Still, I get urges to rewatch it all the time

S1: amazing
S2: great
S3's first half: horrible S3's second half: good
S4: amazing
S5: meh
S6: arguably the worst final season of any show outside of Scrubs

Its another way of saying, it got to hard for me to understand.

Before I hear bu bu bu

Why is it that I understand it all, if its such a clusterfuck?

You do realize something being a clusterfuck has absolutely nothing to do with whether one can understand it or not, right?

Oh wait, you don't. Your mind can't comprehend that some people understand the final season and just think it's shit so you have to tell yourself that they must be too dumb to understand what's going on. In other words, you're 12.

I liked it, I watched all 6 seasons over the course of a few weeks last year. Watching it back to back has the huge advantage that you don't think too much about what might happend next or how it's all gonna make sense.

There definitely were some WTF moments but I liked the show in general.

This is the moment I knew we were in for a hell of a ride.

Also...

Sound bytes are used from the PC game Half-Life 2: When the plane's engine explodes and debris rains down, a man is hit by a piece and the sound produced is virtually identical to that of a Combine soldier dying. The sound of the debris crashing is also identical to that of wood breaking in the game. This is one of several allusions to Half-Life within the series.

Didn't know that.

I am a huge LOST fan. I own the blu-ray box set. I have the LOST Encyclopedia. I loved the show from beginning to end, and still do to this day. HOWEVER, I freely admit the show had it's fair share of flaws. Questions left unanswered, other questions answered poorly. The show is full of let downs and plot turns that could have been handled far, far better. It's full of shitty storytelling. And I honestly agree with a lot of what Erigu has talked about ever since the show went off the air. It does seem like a lot of it was made up as they went along.

Still, all of that being said, I personally feel that the show's positives greatly outweigh all of that. When the show hits on all cylinders (and it does often) it is one of the most fantastic TV experiences I have ever had. LOST has some of the best characters ever portrayed on TV, even with the plot holes and character flaws and writing. The ride is worth it, all the way from beginning to end, IMHO.

TO THE OP, my advice to you, watch the entire show, all the way through, and form your own opinion. Also, avoid all LOST threads on GAF and avoid all spoilers until you watch the final episode. Whatever you feel for the show by the time it is over for you, the ride, for good or for bad, is worth it.

I'm rewatching with my gf (she's never seen it). In the middle of season 2. Damn, that season has some filler episodes in the first half. Starts to get good when Ben is found though.

I still speculate if the original idea was that
they were all dead from the very beginning and they decided to change it as everyone guessed it. There was just so much pointing towards it and with the end they went for kind of the ending they had planned all along but with the twist of the other timeline/purgatory
.

Agreed. It's pretty clear that's what happened.

Lost would have made a fantastic mini series, centered on a small group of well written characters involved in a simple but satisfying mystery that was resolved in 10 episodes. For me, the premise and characters weren't suited to being stretched out across 6 seasons.

I remember after you finished watching the finale you asked: "So what's the island, they never answered that"

Agreed. It's pretty clear that's what happened.

No I dont think so.

On the behind the scenes of "White Rabbit" (S1E5) the writer of that episode is on the set as its being filmed and he basically says the island is not purgatory although it has a purgatory feel to it. So that discussion happened before the show even aired its Pilot.

Edit: In fact here is the vid http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QtAoY7a1y4

Its 0:45 - 1:10

That song during the opener.. fuck! That was amazing.

S3's first scene was just as good too.

Season 2 opener is one of my favorite TV moment ever. There were a number of great episodes like The constant and Ab Aeterno but Desmond's intro was the best.

Great show. No matter how anyone feels at the end the ride is unparalleled.

It's
a Cork!
But then,
it has a cork.
And we were told the island was keeping "evil" trapped, whereas the physical cork we end up seeing is in a cave that contains what's described as a beautiful, warm light.
So er. Yeah. Nicely done, writers.

So I'm on ep 8. Show is pretty interesting so far and Kate is beautiful <3

One issue so far though. They all know there's this thing in the woods yet they keep walking around casually and many times alone? C'mon lol

love characters not the story.... also
;)

The Constant was fantastic, but I will always have a soft spot for Walkabout. That episode was where I got hooked real bad. Dat ending when it first aired. Totally out of nowhere, yet it was so obvious from watching the episode.

There are so many great parts and things in Lost, but the final episode just diminished the entire series for me. The journey is incredible, but the destination is a profound disappointment.

I was maybe 16 when I caught that episode. It was the first time I'd ever been on the ground floor of a television show and something about the quality of the writing and acting captivated me unlike anything else I had seen up until that point. I obsessed with this show for the next 6 years through the ups and downs.

It's far from perfect, and depending on your viewpoint the ultimate destination can be disappointing, but as others have said, man is it an awesome journey, and a world filled with rich, interesting characters.

Another unrealistic thing. Why is Shannon flaunting her sweet ass all over the island? Especially after
Claire got kidnapped?

Seems like possible rape would be a big issue on an island filled with horny strangers. I know she made the rape cave joke but she still acts like she's on a regular beach so far (thru 11 eps)

I know I shouldnt really be in here, but I just wanted to comment on the show so far. I am very LTTP on this, and am watching it on Netflix.

I am on s4 e09. So far the series has been fun to watch because the writers throw in as many plot twists as they can, but I still want to know what happens to the characters. I don't think the show is a masterpiece yet (and will it ever be?) but it's fun actually wanting to watch the next episode because it still has that mystery to it.

Thru 21 eps, I'm enjoying this quite a bit. It is really good for a network tv show. I used to work nights when it started and missed it. Hurray for netflix

Ps: Kate, Sun, Claire and Shannon are all so hot :D

They were pretty good about not drawing out the "reveal" after cliffhanger endings in S1 but the beginning of S2 is kind of annoying

They went through the entire 2nd ep w/o showing Desmond's reaction to Jack. WTF

I hope this isn't a sign of things to come lol
