Does anyone else even remember this game?

Had the game in my backlog and decided to finish it the other day.
I have to say for Sierra's last game (RIP Dear Friend), it was a pretty lackluster outing.
One of the biggest flaws I have to say is the story, it throws bits and pieces at you to keep you invested. But to me it never works. By the end of the game I really had no investment in my character and what he was doing in another timeline. Not to mention I love how the game ends with a sort of "To Be Continued Ending". I really hate when games do that, Psi Ops is still the worse of the lot when it comes to that though.

Anyway aside from the story, at least the time effects were pretty cool.
Though they start to get pretty boring by the halfway mark, and nothing clever is ever really done with them. Not to mention reverse time is really finicky on the few times you have to use it.

Last but not least the ATV sections. Im not the only one who got a Half Life 2 vibe from those am I? (Ignoring that the ATV drove like crap)

I remember playing the demo and thought it looked interesting but that was the last I played of it. Given your comments on it I am kinda glad I didn't waste my time with it.

Were there any interesting or memorable set pieces throughout the game or is it quite forgettable?

Pretty forgettable.
Hell by next week i'll probably forget I even played the thing.

All the set pieces just mesh together and look very similar.
A lot of brown and just uninteresting in general.

Also I forgot to mention the last level is a absolute joke.
It's the same setting of the first level, and for a final boss you shoot 4 turrents and thats it.

I remember liking the demo and getting it at launch for the 360. It was a fun game but I think 60 dollars was too much. My memory is a bit hazy but I think the boss was a huge pain in the ass. Wasn't it entirely possible to play that ATV level and not even touch the thing?

It kind of reminded me of FEAR.

Yeah it was, a few times I walked for a little bit and forgot that the ATV was there for me to drive.

Also the last boss was a pain in the ass, because you had to shoot the turrents down.
But when you do he retaliated with an artillery strike which was absolute luck to dodge.
Especially after you destroyed all three on him. Getting hit once could absolute kill you making you do the whole thing over again.

I quite liked it, however, you I have to admit that I do like a lot of C-list games that appeared this Gen.

The cool thing about this game was when you slowed down time , the rain effect would look amazing as you see them drop slowly.

I actually like that game, it had a weird grain effect on its textures, which I've only seen Bayonetta on PS3 use
you know like when you used to wack up the texture detail on old PC games it'll give it that effect to give more definition I guess?

Thougt it came out as pretty well designed when played on the highest difficulty.

Some cool usage of time that really boiled down to classic gameplay of figuring out weaknesses and exploiting them. Really game'y, but still fun.

I guess I just wasn't feeling the game then.
Surprised so many of you liked it.
I suppose looking back at it, it was that bad.

I guess I just had high expectations going into a 5 year old game.
Which is a bit of a a problem.
