First off please no spoilers for season 3

Wow, so I just finished season 1&2 2 weeks ago, then just finished watching FWWM 2 days ago.

Fuck Bob, and I just feel so bad for Laura, Maddie, Mr. Leland.

Any way If I just get into season three now will I be lost? Or is there more stuff to get into?

Continue on to season 3. You could also watch The Missing Pieces prior to that if you like. It's a collection of deleted scenes from FWWM.

I'd say watch Missing Pieces before Season 3. There are some scenes there that are referenced in the new season.

Hope you like it! It's different from what you can expect, but it has great highs.

How important is missing pieces to season 3? I mean is it crucial to the story?
Edit: shit I didn’t mean to double post

Yeah, just watch it. If you like TP, you're going to enjoy it.

Season 3 may be my favourite season ever of television, but yes I concur with others that is very different, so just be prepared.

I like that the movie blurred the line between Bob/Leland, since I think Lynch didn't like what they did with the reveal on the show. They're one and the same. I feel like Bob being a separate entity from Leland undermines the tragedy of Laura Palmer and what she went through.

I loved season 3 but its definitely not for nostalgia of the first two seasons
the finale had me thinking about it late at night for a week afterwards

Whatever you're expecting, season 3 is not that. It's brilliant, landmark television but it is a whole new beast.

This is pretty accurate.

One of the best series of all time. Still have to watch the last two episodes of Season 3...been waiting for a special occasion of sorts.

Thanks for the input guys, I’m gonna jump into season 3, btw is there a thread specifically for season 3?
There is two. Do not read the second one, because it relates mostly to the final two episodes.

Tonally, the Return is much more like FWWM than the original show. I am meh towards the original, but consider The Return one of the best things I've ever seen on TV. Beware of the pacing going in, however.

Oh no, don’t do that to yourself.

Just watch them and spend weeks obsessing about that finale. It completely changes the way you see the whole season.

You are in for a ride with season 3.

It might start a bit...weird but stick with it, it really starts to pick after a few episodes, some of the weirdest and yet amazing episodes yet on a tv show.

So before I completely submerge myself into season 3, how should I Watch the show? Should I just binge the entire show or wait like a day between episodes?

I'm curious how the show is binged vs. weekly dripfeed, though I'm waiting until the Blu-Ray to really dive in

I remember the first four episodes not being enough on day one though, but granted, not knowing where things are going helps

First of all, watch the missing pieces before anything else.
Second, if you're anything like me, if you don't approach "The Return" as "Season 3 of Twin Peaks" you will enjoy it much, much more. Can't really say anything more than that without getting into spoiler territory : )

Who do I listen too? Lol

Binge watch the first 8 episodes. Then it depends on how involved you get with the different plotlines.

Season 3 is more similar in tone to Fire Walk with Me and its own thing at the same time.

Completely unpredictable...

You're in for something incredible, OP.

Congrats on not enjoying Season 3 guys

Plenty of others did enjoy it

Let people form their own opinions, especially when 3 is such a drastically different thing from what came before it. It's not like the general consensus is "terrible" amongst fans, it's all over the place

Just finished FWWM: missing pieces and I ended up liking it a lot except the new actress who played Donna but wtf Bobby just killed a dude. Did they mention that in S1? Also what the fuck happened to that FBI agent in the beginning(do they talk about him in S3, if they do just tell me without spoiling a whole lot)? Man I’m getting so excited.

Hey Bobby did it in self-defense! He either shoots the guy or he and Laura die. Probably.

And don't ask anything about S3! Discover it yourself! That's part of the fun.

Also, watch 1 episode per day tops. Let your mind digest each episode thoroughly.

Season 3 is amazing. You're gonna love it. Just be prepared for a very different experience than the first couple seasons.

I binged season 3 and definitely think that would be to go. Still don't know how I feel about the season itself though. Makes you think.

I'd binge it, there's a lot of plot lines and there are some small things that you can notice if you don't wait a week between episodes, callbacks not only to prior episodes but also callbacks to the original series as well as Fire walk with me.

Just take in account, binging kind of dilute some of the things that the episodes try to highlight.

Season 3 still the best thing I've seen all year film or television. Oh man I fucked with a lot of what he was doing between the music and atmosphere of the whole thing to the end credit performances.

The comedy was so good too

So is season 3 like legion? I mean is season three unconventional and unique like legion?

This reminds me of that one article where the author swore that we didn't need S3 of TP because we had Legion being the new kind of weird.

Honestly, I feel that S3 was weirder in certain moments.

BTW, have you watched any other Lynch movies? You should watch Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet and Eraserhead at least. S3 of TP feels like a spiritual successor to those movies.
