How much will it be to upgrade to Mountain Lion (UK) when it comes out?
It was 20 quid last time so I imagine it to be around that although there doesn't seem to be as many new features as the last update.

All I want is the windows snapping function for like on windows 7, where you can have two screens perfectly divide up the screen with the auto snapping
I'm using Moom for window size/position management. It does not offer the window snapping from Windows 7, however, but you can define keyboard shortcuts for that (or use one of the buttons in the Moom bubble).
So if you really want snapping, use BetterSnapTool. If you prefer fine-grained resizing/repositioning, use Moom.
Download BetterTouchTool.
Also lets you customize gestures.
I looked into that and went on the website and honestly didn't know what to DL, it was confusing
BetterTouchTool is great, thanks for mentioning these.
yup, been using it last 24hrs and I don't know how I managed without for so long
I don't either. It was my first OSX installation ever. lol. Be sure to check out their official YouTube videos. It'll probably give you some ideas on how to use it to make apps and the UI snap to your every swipe and tap. Every time I bootcamp into Windows I become a sad panda because all of the enhancements are gone. Windows is half as functional as OSX+BTT IMO. Multiple desktops+ 30 or so swipes with BTT is just heaven for multitasking.
when I "snap out of" safari it goes back to normal but doesn't with MS Word, is that normal
Do you have an Air, or a MBP that you removed the disc drive on? If the later, I found that putting the optical drive back in the computer for the install process was easier than trying (and failing) to do the USB thing. If you have an Air, ignore.I'm Googling this shit with no luck... does anybody know how to create a bootable USB with Windows 8 CP... on OS X?
I have an MBP and a Mac mini but either both drives are busted (unlikely) or I simply have bad media, because I burned 3 or 4 DVDs a couple of weeks ago but all install attempts failed at some point.Do you have an Air, or a MBP that you removed the disc drive on? Will Game center show iOS scores too?
Yes. But just wait for Mountain Lion to come out and upgrade then. There's no way I could ever go back to SL, mission control and finder replace options alone make it impossible for me.Is Lion worth upgrading from Snow Leopard to? I can't really see why.
Probably lots of feedback from people to change it after their porn sites kept showing up after quitting the browser.Updated to DP3, and as expected it is quite quick and fluid, however I am experiencing some unexpected behavior that I don't see in the Known Issues, and would like to find out if it is just my machine.
It seems that Terminal and Safari no longer save my state in ML. I get new windows after I quit and relaunch, this is different in behavior than Lion and DP1 and DP2. Anyone else have this issue? Thanks.
Edit: Turns out Apple changed the default behavior when they added the "Close windows when quitting applications" option in general. =/

Teehee, Flash tried to autoupdate from the browser but Gatekeeper killed it. Even trying to run the installer in the dmg was blocked.
You can open unsigned apps/installers by right clicking though. It then adds an exception so it always allows the unsigned app to run:
Yes, simply for all the under the hood changes made with Lion. Seriously, there are some huge ones.
But as others have said, you might as well just wait for Mountain Lion, if you want.
Safari. If you run Chrome, you won't deal with Adobe. Are you running Safari or Chrome. This is important since I believe Flash comes with Chrome standard and I want to be careful that a version not from Adobe doesn't try and run on its own in ML.
I like the looks of ML a lot though still being a Mac n00b, I am just still getting used to Lion (currently running 10.7.3 as I'm sure a lot of people are).
I would wait for Mountain Lion at this point and see the various upgrade options they offer. Not saying Lion is terrible, but the performance on my computer running 10.8 is drastically smoother.

Really? 10.8 is smoother for you than 10.7?
What hardware are you on?
I'm on a old MacBook Unibody and I think ML may be even smoother than Snow Leopard right now. It has a number of graphical glitches though, mostly concerning Safari and the MenuBar at boot. This OS is seems like it is going to be great.

Nope.So this:

doesn't happen anymore?
Yes. It's back to 10.6 level of snappiness for me on a 2011 MBP.Really? 10.8 is smoother for you than 10.7?

Still no official date? Will it be before the end of June, what do you think?
I hope so, I have a 2010 13" base model MBP, and everything was so quick and and fast with snow leopard but that changed with lionI would wait for Mountain Lion at this point and see the various upgrade options they offer. Trust me it is, at least at the moment. I've got only 2GB in an original 13" unibody 2ghz machine, and it has never been faster. Pretty much everything launches on a single bounce, iTunes is still the slowest app but there shouldn't be any surprise there.
If I were to guess why it is much quicker... it seems to me that they have been rewriting parts of the graphics subsystem moving it over from Compatibility to the new Core GL that they introduced with Lion. At the moment there are a number of graphical glitches and would not recommend installing on a machine you actually want to use, but boy does it ever run smooth right now. Your system IIRC has the same GPU as mine, so you have nothing to worry about IMO.
do you have airplay enabled on your laptop? they said it wasn't going to be available for older models
10.6.8 snappy?
I have an 07 iMac
I need a new mac![]()

07 iMac club represent! I'll be replacing mine with the Ivy Bridge upgrade when those come out, though, if there's a new form factor.
iirc AirPlay won't work on any pre-2010 model.
