Machinegames doing Indiana Jones for Bethesda

Xbox ecosystem exclusive means Xbox, PC and Xcloud devices via Game pass
dont switch jargon around sir, exclusive means one platform. there is no such thing as an "ecosystem" in gaming. Its either exclusive or it's not. Why is it xbox dudes always try to come up with a new definition of what "exclusive" is.

I've seen many people here comment that Wolfenstein 2 was a bad game, can someone explain why that is? I thought all the interactable characters were well-written and different from any other FPS in recent memory. The gunplay wasn't bad aside from just being repetitive, but that's something every FPS struggles with inherently. The story was crazy and went directions I didn't expect. I personally gave the game an 8/10, but it' weird seeing so much criticism.

There was no such thing as ecosystem in operating systems either until Apple made it a unified experience across PC, smartphones, Tablets, watches, etc. Microsoft is doing the same for gaming.

Just to make something clear, Disney/Lucasfilm don't dictate the platforms for the games, everything is up to the publisher/developer, it's not like they said to Bethesda that they have to publish Indiana Jones on PS5, XBX|S, PC or they won't get the license, that's not how these deals work and they never worked like that before, platform strategy and releasing schedule was always up to the publishers or LucasArts when they were publishing the games.

Several Star Wars and IJ games title skipped all sort of platforms back in the 90s and 00s, even stuff published by LucasArts

Interesting quote i read from Era. What he saying its indeed true

Todd Howard is behind this?

Its bad now coz they under MS?

Seriously, how anyone can call modern Wolfenstein 1 and 2 games bad?

I think Xbox should change their marketing from console exclusive to "not on PlayStation/Switch"

I heard the Bethesda, initially, wanted to develop a National Treasure game fully voiced and mo-capped by Nicolas Cage but with sadness they had to settle for Indiana Jones.
Maybe Nintendo could get the license now.

"Late last year...."

Phil Spencer said the exact opposite in October....3 months ago.

to sum it up "We didn't pay $7.5 Billion dollars for timed exclusives. Timed exclusives don't help us recoup our money"
"But I can't really say this right now, because TECHNICALLY we don't own them yet, but please get a clue guys!"

Machine games, you say?
Oh my! Can't wait for gender fluid Indiana Jones whiplashing nazis and destroying the myths of patriarchy.

Although I have no doubt all Bethesda will be exclusive, I'd imagine to obtain a license like this they would need to release on other platforms. Kinda like how the MLB granted Sony it's baseball license but they have to launch it on Xbox.

I really hope they set it during the actual Indiana Jones years, and they don't make it some kind of "young indy" game.......

Overall, I'm hyped though!

It's bad because now it's made by a MS studio.

Interesting, have any games actually made a game with a good whip though?

Maybe lords of shadow? Threaded cane is a no before anyone suggests it, and I mained that weap. Darksiders with the whip - eurgh.
Magic electric whip count ? (Dragon's Dogma - Brontide)

Raiders of the Lost Ark was Nazis
Temple of Doom was the Thuggee Cult
Last Crusade was Nazis
Crystal Skull was Soviets

Only half the time does Indy confront Nazis.
And that is the most overused enemy in all of gaming. Time for something new.
  • Wolfenstein: The New Order - - stop nazis take over world
  • Wolfenstein: The Old Blood - find nazi zombie gas
  • Quake: Dimension of the Past (expansion) - not nazis
  • Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus - underground resistance fight back against nazis
  • Wolfenstein: Youngblood (co-developer) - resist future nazis in europe
Starting to see a pattern - maybe that's how they got the gig ?

Machine Games? Hmmm. Machine Games are known for visceral, gore-fest, smash-em up guns ablaze, brutal fps games. But hey, whatever it takes to keep the relics out of dirty Nazi hands.

Don't worry. It's the "now Bethesda has become exclusive it's shit". People also said that about elder Scrolls and Fallout when the news arrived. Hilarious and sad.

Asobo made plague tale and then created 90 + Metacritic flight simulator.

So why you doubting Machine games?

This is MachineGame's chance to redeem themselves after all the crap they've made recently. After TNO it was nothing but a slide downwards sadly.

Copy pasted from Era. I posted it but in quotes giving credit to original poster. Lol

Last time I heard - exclusives are good. So all good here.
While I understand people complaining about a multiplatform studio goes exclusive, then the only reason I see people be really bitter about it is because they simple just want it on playstation.

With Microsoft we have pc xbox and xcloud to play on while with Sony it would be PlayStation only, so more people will be able to play the game versus only on playstation.

You: Oh man is it xbox exclusive?! Will it be on GamePass?? Is Indy going to be a female?
Me, an intellectual: *Make whiping noises with mouth*

Not that the jargon matters to me, but...

PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale was on PS3 and Vita. Was that not a PlayStation exclusive?

Killer Instinct was on SNES and Game Boy. Was that not a Nintendo exclusive?

(Or do the terms "Only On PlayStation" and "Only For Nintendo" only count as their own exclusive jargon?)

If it has to be 'exclusive' I'd rather choose MS than Sony just for option to play them on PC.
