Supersonic, idiotic, disconnecting, not respecting, who would really ever wanna go and top that
I'm one of those weirdos that doesn't skip commercials 90% of the time, even when the show has been sitting on my dvr for awhile. When I watch a show live, I usually get on my computer and look at the reactions from people here.

I skipped all the commercials last week though, I started watching the episode 10 minutes late and had to fast forward through the ads to "catch up" to everyone watching live.

It's soooooooo obvious they used a body double for Hendricks during the Johnnie Walker Black commercial.

I have a season pass on Amazon and watch the show every Monday without even bothering about FF through commercials. Oh and I don't get those annoying A&E ads on the screen all the time (if A&E does that, haven't watched an A&E show on A&E in a while to know).

Mad Men airs on AMC lmaoooo

I watch live, but I mute my tv and do other stuff during the commercials, so I wasn't aware of which ads were running during MM.

you're missing out on jon hamm narrating everything!

But yeah I'm blown away that anyone in this day and age of computers smartphones tablets and so on actually sits there and stares at the screen during commercials lol.

Definitely, though I do need to cut down on my 'distracted viewing' on some of the higher level shows like Mad Men. It's not a problem if I'm watching something like True Blood, but I miss more than I should if I'm watching MM and trying to post on GAF at the same time. During commercials isn't a big deal.

The tv I watch shows on is literally right nexty to my monitor I barely even have to tilt my head to watch so that's why I'm able to post REAL TIME CAPS LOCK REACTIONS without being distracted.

But yeah I've watched mad men without doing anything else a few times and I've still missed stuff. It's just that kind of show. Too much to focus on.

I sometimes watch with my laptop, so it's not a huge distraction to post occasionally. Nonetheless, it feels like a disservice to a show like MM that's so well crafted. Just my personal Weiner-guilt or something.

I usually end up watching 'em twice to make sure I didn't miss anything.

Am I the only one who starts watching the episode twenty minutes late just so I can fast-forward through the ads?

I couldn't imagine watching television in any other way. I haven't watched a show on time since I got my first Tivo back in the day. I watch so many shows and being able to shave 16-18 minutes off anything on an ad supported network is a great. Hell, even premium cable dramas don't usually start until 3-5 minutes after the hour if you skip the 'previously on' and opening themes.

Finally saw the last episode. Some thoughts

-Don was right
-Peggy was wrong
-Ted was wrong
-Matt Weiner forced his son into the show for no reason
-Some great Betty scenes this episode

What was Peggy specifically mad at Don about at the end of the episode? Was it that he brought up Frank Gleason, or did she understand that he was talking about her and Ted? Ted was choosing Peggy over the client, he's married, he's overly competitive about the juice. I hate him.

Don was right, but he was twisting the knife hard at the same time.

I typically have my phone out and mainly post during commercials when a show is live. This past week I watched the episode on DVR though - was really tired and fell asleep before it was on.

Beat EviLore at pool.
Oh man tomorrow is the last episode of the season, kind of hard to believe. And then there is only one more season to go.

Yeah it sucks but it worked out for the best. Dexter next week then chances are when Dexter is at the end Breaking Bad comes back and ends. Gonna be odd next year.

I think she understood that Don was scaring Ted a bit in the meeting, since everyone except for the hospital client guy was expecting Don to say that Ted's motivation in the big budget increase was Peggy. And then when Ted went home early Peggy realized that Don probably spooked him and most likely ended her relationship with Ted. It's why she said that Don "killed" Ted and "killed everything". He made Ted see that getting involved with Peggy could jeopardize future business.

I agree that Don was right (even if he was sort of a dick about it) and that Betty had some great scenes. January Jones is flawless in that role (and looking super fine again).

But you don't like Glenn?? His character is really awkward sometimes :lol but I think he makes Sally's plotline a bit more interesting.

bitch I'm taking calls.
Maybe. Weiner said on the record Megan will not die and I'm pretty mentioned there may not be any death at all. My bet is on something worse than death happening.

So guys, 'simple' question:

Will someone die in the finale? Yes or No?

I don't think anyone will die but I still stand by thinking something huge will happen. And I mean other than Don and Megan coming to an end. Right now I'm leaning toward Don quitting the agency or moving away or something along that line.

There's definitely a chance for death though, wouldn't put it past Weiner. The fact that he spoke on the megan rumors makes me suspicious because it seems like something he'd never do so he could be trying to fuck with everyone lol.

i remember weiner saying nobody would die.

anyway... kinda bummed there's only one more season left. i know it can't go on forever but i feel like the show finally hit its stride vis a vis the late 60s. feel like there could be another season before the final one to iron out some story arcs. but whatever i'm sure it'll get a proper send off

I agree. Already sad to think about next year being the last season =[ this one has been great in my opinion.

good article. Does anyone really hate Don though? I know I don't. I feel bad for and pity him if anything. Dude has had a pretty traumatizing life and is stuck digging his hole deeper and deeper because he doesn't know any other way.

Would be interesting to see real growth now that that everything has gotten a lot worse.

Also Weiner ethering twitter critics lol.

He does cheat in his relationships, messes with coworkers lives, is an asshole in general and lashes out at everybody who care about him. Still, I can't help but love the guy.

I definitely don't hate Don. I probably like him too much actually considering I still root for him even after all the bad shit he's done.

It's sort of like Tony Soprano. I rooted for him until the end even though he could be despicable at times.

(to be clear, some of the shit Tony Soprano did was way way way worse than the type of shit Don does)

The point of the Sopronos is being tricked into rooting for the bad guy.

I don't think that's true with Don. That doesn't mean you hate him, but I don't think you're supposed to root for him in everything, either. I still think Peggy is the one we're supposed to be rooting for.

It's one thing if Don was a dick to people and enjoying every second of it but I don't think anyone feels worse than he does when it comes ot just about everything he does in his life lol.

That's why I just feel bad for him. Yeah it sucks people get caught up in his tornado of fucked upness but what can you do.

The shock will have something to do with the neighbors. It's been been a useless plot otherwise.

Or the episode will surround a silent Don with things going on around him. Lost in his thoughts, Don does something abrupt that negatively shapes the lives around him.

Or Don is so touched by the moon landing that it further exemplifies his existentialist view on the world. This brings him temporary peace as he finally gets a chance at Hilton's business.
