I think he cares about work. He uses it as an escape pretty damn often from his personal life so he must value the workplace at least somewhat. But obviously it's not giving him any happiness.
peggy calling don a monster was kind of melodramatic
So, we're all in agreement that Dawn only exists for the "race" episode, right? Another episode where she is m.i.a, no?

Peggy's been like that all season. Making everything Don does be about her. She is becoming very narcissistic.
Caught up, a day late. Not sure all the turns in this episode totally worked. I'll need to rewatch the scene to figure out Pete's motivations in not dropping the axe on Bob. I'm glad Bob will stick around and not be cast out like poor Sal, but I still don't totally get why.
Peggy's "monster" line also seemed a little harsh; Don's dicked her over plenty worse in the past
I'm hoping the finale brings things to a head a little more. But I strongly suggest nobody, including me, get their hopes up for a super-dramatic episode
Pete has multiple motivations.
- He tried this before and failed
- He realizes that he hired Bob, and will look bad for it (he asks right near the beginning of the conversation who hired Bob)
- He realizes he can manipulate and use Bob rather than get him booted out. Bob is his now.
I also liked, acting-wise, how James Wolk has essentially been smiling or smirking in every scene all year, so when the smile faded in this episode, the viewer really noticed.
For some reason the show has really been depressing me lately. Marathon'd the last 3 episodes last night and I just cannot see a shred of hope for most of the characters on the show. Yeah I know, 'what show did you think you were watching?' but it has been particularly sad lately I think in regards to Sally. Don has lost her for good I think and she was really the only character that still held some small amount of love for him.
Don is truly fucked and doomed to a short, loveless and lonely life, as are we all in many cases...
It's all buildup to the huge life decision Don will inevitably make in the finale next week. Book it.
I meant to ask, are Don and Megan moving? it looking like a bunch of furniture was missing from the apartment.
Did anyone else pick up on this?
It's felt like the apartment's intentionally being shot to look like a hotel room at certain points.Did anyone else pick up on this?
Don and Peggy are going to stop be tusandare and get I on int he finale
Book it

Peggy will stab Megan in the middle of the night (accidentally) after Don gets her pregnant with a child she won't tell him about. This series of events causes Don to go on a downward spiral and eventually drops out of his life again to recreate himself a second time to end the series.
What would GAFs reaction be if they find eachother alone somewhere and once again start another fighting match with each other and then it just ends with super intense shmex.
That would be really dumb. What would GAFs reaction be if they find eachother alone somewhere and once again start another fighting match with each other and then it just ends with super intense shmex.
I'm going to need Sally to clock her two basic roommates during the finale.
A spiritual successor to Mad Men following Sally would be really cuteYes but she has been slaying. So happy, I was worried she was gonna be forgotten this season. And it seemed like the blond one accepted her at the end. Who else but new Betty?

You're a monster, Cornballer.
He's been hilarious whenever he's guest starred on 30 Rock, Todd Margaret, etc...Jon Hamm need to be in a comedy show asap.
It's a 65 min time slot, but that's pretty typical for this season. I haven't read anything to indicate that it's limited commercials - Weiner probably would consider that a spoiler. Are they doing anything special for the finale? Limited commercials or anything like that?
- AMC put up the rest of the still photos from last episode
Can we have Ken do his dance routine again with the eye patch on?

and now Don has alienated both of his "daughters": the real one (Sally) and her daughter-figure/protege (Peggy). Damn.
It was a great episode, can't wait for the season finale. Some things are falling apart.
Mad Men's non-consensual encounter between a young, frightened Dick Whitman and a prostitute didn't generate as much chatter as its gender-reversed scenario might have. Why?
To my surprise and dismay, I found that the vast majority of responses (including The Atlantic's) glossed over the encounter, benignly describing Dick as "losing his virginity" or having his virginity "taken" by Aimee. Even more disturbing were those that portrayed the exchange as something positive, even empowering. According to one participant in a roundtable discussion at The Wall Street Journal, Aimee "guides [Dick] through his first sexual experience." A recap at The Daily Mail, despite recounting Dick's protestations, underplays the interaction as a mere "tryst."
The Atlantic: Don Draper Was Raped
See a lot of threads about issues like this lately and while I understood that the encounter gave insight to Don and his sexual hangups, I must admit I glazed over the fact that it could be considered rape.
