NFL Superstar Mode: This entirely new single-player mode allows you to experience the life of an NFL player by earning one of more than 60 Personas ranging from MVP to Movie Star. Features include:

* World Map: Navigate real NFL city maps as you visit destinations like the barber shop and tattoo parlor.
* Personas: Define how you live your life on and off the field.
* Agents: Hire your agent and watch him get movie roles and endorsements for your NFL Superstar.
* Create a Star: Choose your parents, fill out an NFL combine registration form, and take the IQ test.
* Import Players: Bring your NCAA®Football Legend or NFL STREET 2 player into NFL Superstar Mode to give him a head start.
* Deep Storyline: More options include your house, My Web, endorsements, persona-specific attributes, mini-games and events, and the web.

Ill probably rent this game just to try this mode. Hopefully it's better than MLB 2006 career mode. When does madden come out/
 
I don't know how cool this really is. Just seems like some crap I will never touch. I just want football, not the EA version of the Crib Mode.

It's pretty much franchise mode, but with a player instead of a team. I'll probably play it if I make my Heisman player in NCAA 06.

Too bad the NFL wont let EA go all out with it, I want to have my Ray Lewis moment :(

Heh heh, looks like EA put the cribs mode in too :P. j/k. But still that barber pic is kind of reminiscent of VC silliness.

Regardless, this is the new Madden mode I'm looking forward to the most.

I didn't know the preorder got you a free Fantasy account. No way in hell am I going to pay extra for something that should be included in the game for free, especially before I know whether it sucks or not.
 
That player model reminds me why I'm waiting for the 360 version. I always hated how the players looked with cornrows, it's like play dough on their heads.

And show Troy Williamson, trying to catch the ball like Randy Moss, but then he remembers he's not Randy Moss... oh....travesty
 
Well since they are using useless features from the NFL 2K series (Crib) lets hope they borrow a few of the good ones like the VIP system.

Amen, about the first part that is. Anyway, the idea of building a player is kinda cool, and I might actually try that, but madden is about the gameplay, and I'll be playing hundreds of games online, and maybe 5 offline.

Honestly, when we had league for 2004, I was so horrible the first time, but DSkillz helped me learn a bit. I didn't really improve until I learned how to read plays offline. I'm on year 13 of my franchise, making close to 50 million a year in profit, skating just under salary cap, and have turned 2 Mr. Irrelvants into Pro Bowlers. If I can't play Franchise Mode in the same vein, I'm going to be very disappointed.

Oh well, the Hip-Hop McDonalds generation will eat this up.

Hopefully I can buy plenty of Bling and gold toilets for my Santa Monica crib after I've made my 7ft 400lb running back! :D

It shouldn't be surprising that one of the people who was partially responsible for the Cribs crap on ESPN left VC and went to EA to work on Madden...and look what we get.

It's also in NBA2K6 this year, seems that both developers think people like to have virtual homes in sports games -_-
 
in Madden 2008 there will be a GTA-esque mode where you can drive around cities, go to clubs, shoot your limo driver in the face with a shotgun and not get convicted for it.

I can't wait.... to be a Professional Athlete/Superstar!
 
Meh @ all the haters. This mode alone got me to buy the MLB baseball game for PS2. I'm amped as fuck for this

I like the idea of the NFL career, but the haircut and Crib stuff just seems blah.

The positive though is that if you dont want to play it, the game wont bug you. NFL2K5 on the other hand had celebs call you every 5 secs when you were on the main menu screens. -_-

It wasn't as bothersome as many say it was. I have the game. I just went straight into franchise mode or online.
 
It's stupid. I bet focus testing showed them that people wanted to do this Cribs junk...No real football fan gives a shit. Unless you live in a box in a filthy alley, you're not going to care about decorating your player's virtual home. Then again, if they're keeping the great owner mode, which I have to assume they are, this isn't taking anything away......well, other than the dev team's time, which would be better spent working on animations.
 
Thankgod I love the gameplay so much,this is the type of shit that just bores me to tears.I get no joy out of getting a virtual haircut or having virtual parents....if I did,I would play sims or buy one of the espntamagotchidogs games.
