Madden 360 gameplay video

Dint see too much in the way of animations but it looks better than the old burger king footage and definitely better than current gen stuff.

looks a lot better in motion, that's for sure. sooooo glad to see the rubber suit bathed in baby oil uniforms gone.

the most impressive part, in fact jaw dropping part, is that stadium. holy fuckin shit on that.

they still need to work on the overthick player models. did you see that placeholders fucking HUGE arms? they are bigger than hulk hogans.
 
i think that looks pretty decent from the shitty video quality i see. id also like to see something other than selecting a play and kicking a field goal

ok just saw the bengals footage. looks good, now give me direct feed footage of a whole touchdown drive. preferably eagles on offense. im a picky guy what can i say. but its 60 bucks

Now this one shows the run animation on the kickoff and it looks..... very un-madden like.
Almost like a totally different game.

Not super impressive IMO but the visuals look good and I like the new playcalling screen.

It still looks early tho.

...with a higher polycount, better lighting, fucking incredible stadiums, a fully 3-D crowd, awesome texturing, and (I can't believe I'm saying this) excellent animation?

You don't find this impressive? color me speechless.
 
The crowd animations look AMAZING. I'm so used to lifeless crowds in sports games. So cool.

The kickoff meter completely ripped off NFL2K. I hate that meter too. Hope it is optional.

No more Madden announcing is nice, too. Is that the actual bucs radio announcer?
 
Yes, animation and presentation is MUCH, MUCH improved over any Madden I have ever seen from this early look...


For the first time in like, ever, I am totally happy with the look of a Madden game......


PS.....WTF was up with those "fat" Mike Vick screens???

Player Proportions look almost VC-quality now(i.e realistic)

no, no they don't. check out the placeholders arm when they zoom in on him. they still have some major issues in this dept.

the stadium on the other hand... did you see all the detail of everything beyond the goal posts? that is just fricken insane. i wish the rest of everything in this game was at that kind of level. just... wow.
 
I think it looks worse in motion than in the screens, though I liked the screens and you guys didn't. Soo...yeah. Although, its definitely not as bad as it could've been.
 
This might seem crazy, but on the surface it looks like this is the first Madden game that caters to the VC 2K fans as far as graphics go....

2K5 on Xbox was an awsome visual packege IMO......cool normal mapping, nice animation and lighting and, again, the player proportions just seem more realistic to me...

The funny thing is.....not only am I seeing all that stuff in Madden 360....this is the first time I have seen this exact combo (Normal Map,animation,lighting, player proportions) in *any* Madden game.....

I admit it is a very early look, but if you were to tell me this was NFL2k6 on X360 developed by VC, I would not be shocked at all (this is a very good thing IMO)


All in all, I am pleased with what I am seeing in Madden 360, and this is the first time in years I have been happy with the look of *any* Madden game...

I want to see more....
 
It does look a lot like 2K (animation wise and general player size-wise) I can't say I'm frothing at the mouth, which is good.....because it would make the wait even more unbearable. The way the camera zoomed out after the FG was kicked and the way the players look reminded me a lot of 2K5. I'm curious to see more animations.
 
the crowd is insane and the non madden commentary is refreshing as hell. the gamespot vid is :O for the stadium!!!
 
the IGN vid (which was labled as "X05: Eagles in the rain" but showed footage from a Bucs Packers game?) looked good up until the point where I saw the back of the Packers players as they ran the kick back.

something just didnt look right. when I watched the vid just now on slow, it seemed very 2kish in the way Ferguson was making his cuts. didnt seem to have momentum preventing him from making very quick cuts without loss of speed.

just watched the Gamespot vid and it definitely looks good but could use some more tweaking. I noticed differences in player models. if you watch as the RB is getting up, #60 has a big fat gut but most of the other players including other O lineman do not. the walking animations look a little stiff, almost like the VC stick-up-the-butt run animations looked like.

there was also a spot in the IGN vid where the kick returner is getting up and one of the other players is walking near him and he starts to walk in place until the GB player gets up and is out of the way. also in the GS vid when the Browns kick a FG and they show the scoreboard jumbo screen it plays a Steelers Field Goal animation. I know these are little nit picky things but damn I just saw the vids and I noticed them.
 
Better. Needs self-shadowing still, and I'd like to one-day see the players react differently after a whistle. There's still the robotic herd movement from the old games. But that's an inconsequential nitpick on a nice visual package. Animation transitions are certainly improved here, but that Natural Motion video has spoiled the next-gen before it ever began. It will make me regret the exclusive NFL contract even more, b/c I'm sure someone else would have tried raising the animation bar this gen, be it the Fever team, Gameday team or the 2K team. Fuck you EA. :( That said, this is still a ways away from the draft day commercial. Concept renderowned. PEACE.

huh the video was of the bngals and the eagles in the rain??? maybe the watch it now and download videos are different, but if you have downloaded it host it for those of us who arent insiders
 
Why must the in-game animations be so horrible? Sure the pregame stuff looks nice, but once they start hitting each other, it all falls apart.
 
IGN screwed up.

If you click the "Watch it now" button it is the Eagles in the rain video. If you select to download the video it is a different on. Bucs and Packers.
