Sorcery (R)
Exile target creature and all other creatures with the same name as that creature.
Flashback 5BB
Illus. Clint Cearley
115/264

Sever the bloodlines seems like a really shitty Damnation. It's great against token decks but beyond that its a 4 cost single creature kill spell 95% of the time.
If it read non land permanent rather than creature then we'd be talking.

Speaking of tokens, Falkenrath Noble should be in every zombie token deck.

Forbidden Alchemy is a fantastic card. Wish it was an instant, but I'm still very impressed; great common, especially in theorycrafting necrotic ooze/scholar/molten-tail decks! Also, think twice is a pretty powerful draw spell, and I'm very glad it's back. Happy with the previews today.

Forbidden Alchemy is an instant.

I kinda forbid myself from running curiosity in my Niv-Mizzet deck, but now that its going to be in standard again, I may reconsider. I wonder how much constructed play it'll see. Either way, looks like I'm definitely picking up a Innistrad Fat Pack.

New cards again:

Feral Ridgewolf 2r
Creature - Wolf (C)
Trample
1r: Feral Ridgewolf gets +2/+0 until end of turn.
1/2

They're reprinting Yawgmoth's Will? ;O

I think the card's not too broken. It's like when they printed Time Reversal and people thought "they are reprinting Time Twister? OMG".

- Will cost one less and was/is a format with fastbond, rituals and artifact mana.
- There's no Black Lotus to play on a Will turn then recur on that same turn.
- What you can recur and do is much worse when your deck isn't the T1 restricted list.

It might be something useful in Legacy storm, which could honestly use some help. I don't think it's going to make TES start to look more like Vintage TPS though.

Buy it anyway. You can use it with Bootcamp.
I already have MTGO on bootcamp and it's a hassle to switch over and not have music. It's one of the reasons I don't play too often. I wanted this more for convenience than anything.

The promo card can't be redeemed in MTGO, can it?

Some more new cards, blacked out for WW

Parallel Lives 3g
Enchantment Rare
If an effect would put one or more tokens onto the battlefield under your control, it puts twice that many tokens onto the battlefield instead.

Nice, a slightly cheaper doubling season that only targets tokens.

One-Eyed Scarecrow 3
Artifact Creature - Scarecrow Common
Defender
Creatures with flying your opponents control get -1/-0.
Illus. David Kendall #230/264 2/3

I really really like this for limited. Can go into any color deck and puts a hurt on flyer heavy decks.

Sharpened Pitchfork 2
Artifact - Equipment Common
Equipped creature has first strike.
As long as equipped creature is a Human, it gets +1/+1.
Equip 1

A decent enough cheapo equipment, again fairly decent for limited where throwing it on a creature turn three might make the difference.

Witchbane Orb 4
Artifact Rare
When Witchbane Orb enters the battlefield, destroy all Curses attached to you.
You have hexproof.

First ability is whatever, only good in block really. But the second is very nice. I'd play it if I drafted it.

Hmmm
Paralell Lives doesn't excite me that much, it doesn't feel quite as wacky as DS. The latter of which seriously needs to drop in price, augh

You guys rock! I'm good at scrolling past shit though.

So, what do you guys do when you get too many cards? Do you just have boxes of cards just kicking around?

Pretty much. However if I introduce another new player into the game I have waaaaay too much Zendikar with which to gift them, a result of drafting every week for two whole semesters my freshman year.

Also, new preview card today:
Geist of Saint Traft
looks extremely good in limited. Will be smashing a lot of faces at three mana.

I have a ridiculous amount of cards just sitting in cardboard boxes. Eventually when I get some time I'm going to do what my friend does and sort out all the ones I want to keep and sell the rest as bulk. It's going to be a ridiculous process though that will take more time than I am willing to give right now.

Shame it doesn't share any colors with
parallel lives.

that new card you are talking about is a surefire $20-$25 mythic. I'll be shooting to get three, but him+snapcasters+liliana+real estate is going to put a whopper hit on my trade binder (and wallet). Hopefully I'll get lucky in some prereleases.

Happy to have
Think Twice
back in the format. That's an excellent Standard format card.

Silence of Stone 1W
Enchantment (R)
Artifact abilities cannot be activated.
Illus. Wayne England
36/264

Edit:VVVVV Doh I feel very silly.

Went to a draft today, my first time really playing Magic after that Celebration event and I went 2-1! Think I drew a good deck and had quite a bit of fun.
For anyone interested my deck was

Llanowar Elves x2
Gladecover Scout
Jade Mage
Garruk's Companion
Lurking Crocodile x2
Giant Spider
Carnage Wurm
Titanic Growth
Overrun
Merfolk Looter
Lord of the Unreal (my first pick, someone else got 3 bears I would have liked!)
Skywinder Drake x3 (had one in sideboard as well)
Aether Adept x2
Aven Fleetwing
Phantasmal Dragon
Unsummon
Mana Leak x2

Didn't get to play Overrun once :(

Some new trophies / achievements too.

The new Liliana deck in this expansion is so god damn bad. Literally struggling to win a match with it. It's just a total mess of a deck.

Huh? No way. It's an awesome old-school (like Alpha/Beta/Revised) Underworld Dreams/Rack combo deck.

Expansion is out? Fucking right, downloading it the minute I get home.

Going to get back into MTG at the prerelease next weekend - I haven't played in about 3 years. Will my DCI number still exist or do I need to get a new one?

I don't think DCI numbers are revoked under any circumstances, it should still exist. You can check it yourself, though: try entering it HERE (in the "membership number" field.)

I have run through everyone with it yet, starting back at Koth and just beat Chandra.
Been pretty easy with it.

Yeah, you should be good. I took a break from sanctioned events from Ravnica all the way through Zendikar and I was fine.

Werewolves.dec got their ratchet bomb protection.

6v8ies3sq2_en.jpg

That's just asking to be broken! Free Myr Superion.

That doesn't protect them. CMC and Casting Cost while both having Casting Cost in their name are not the same thing. You can never alter the actual CMC of a card. Also, hosing your own creatures to make a creature maybe good is never um... good.

With that said, I could see it being broken in half with Myr Retriever for some kind of combo.

That's not the card that gives werewolves ratchet bomb protection. It's the full moon enchantment that can be sacrificed to regen all werewolves.

I just started playing again after a TEN YEAR break, and got a new DCI number. But last week I was looking at Event Recorder and my old DCI number is still active from the last pre-release I did...Mirage?

Nevermore sounds nice. Use that Gitaxian Probe to reveal opponent's hand, cast Nevermore, name card. Done and done.

Trepanation Blade sounds dirty too. Will put it on my blighted agent or tormented soul.

Ahh my bad, I took your post out of context.

Yeah it's a start. I just dislike the inherent weakness of the lack of a CMC in werewolves or transform cards. If I were to play werewolves, I'd play that card though, most definitely.
