The 1GG cost is also pretty restrictive. If you're running Birds of Paradises for your mana base, chances are you won't need/want a 3cc 1/1 because you're obviously ramping up to something bigger. If you're playing G/W humans, then you'll probably be playing Avacyn's Pilgrim. Which means your second land must be a Forest/Dual as well in order to cast Champion of Lambholt on turn 2.

Champion is a pretty fair card for green-heavy (1GG = annoying cast cost) aggro decks looking to have a good sideboard card for matchups with not a lot of removal (Humans, Pod, Tokens, etc.). I don't think it's maindeck playable since it's not as universally good as a Sword or a Blade Splicer/Dungrove Elder.
The U/R Loothouse land is so awesome. I want to play it in Legacy in some kind of durdling counterbalance deck with Punishing Fire because that card's interaction with Loothouse seems pretty awesome.

I kind of love midnight pre-releases and kind of do not like them.
The last one we had a bunch of really overly drunk obnoxious assclowns show up (nothing wrong with drinking while playing, it is kind of a regular thing after hours lol but these guys were just really obnoxious).
But there was also a Bohemian Rhapsody sing along out of nowhere, and all and all the night was fun.

Wizards thinks that it will be a way to draw people in to sign up for the prerelease.
According to some people, their stores are getting higher than usual numbers for prereleases. I guess it works.
Oh I know why they do it, and I don't fault them for doing so, but they are still fun to laugh at.
Can't wait to see what they do for Return to Ravnica. Hopefully it's more interesting than just forcing you to play a specific color combo.

I think there are several "Seals" on the thing that players will get to flip open during the course of the event by completing the achievements on the cards they give out.

Some of the achievements are pretty funny too, while others are super conditional as to what you get in your packs. The person that posted that image of the helvault on mtgsalvation also posted a few of the achievement cards.
Some were like: Speak to your opponent in a scary monster voice. And, quote the flavor text of a card as you play it.
Whereas another was like: Play a Mythic rare card. (what if we don't get any? lolz)

If it is real, I can not see how it could not be legendary ( a tie in to the new From the Vault?)
I've tried it, it's a great time, but with 60+ people at each midnight one I prefer day ones so I can get some normal sleep rather than the event ending at 8 am.
We always have something available out back for us regulars (often more than just a little), but that's unfortunate that they took it overboard.

The red draw card may be true. MaRo has been hinting that red's looting (i.e. draw a card, discard a card) will be different starting in AVR. Discarding the card(s) first before drawing fits in line with what he's been saying.
