Casual deck help time :
3 years ago, one of my buddies decided to slowly start building an Angel deck. I always said that it was a false archetype since the only way he got them out was by cheating them into play.
With AVR coming, it's Angel galore and lo and behold, some support for an Angel deck also appears.
I always mused about creating a Demon deck just for the whole thematic rivalry, and this seems to be a most appropriate time to do so.
How would you guys go about creating such a deck, keeping in mind I want to stay as far away as possible from cards like Quicksilver Amulet or Call to the Kindred? But cards like Heartless Summoning are A-OK in my book.
R/B? Pure Black? Grixis?

Angel deck? Rival deck? Playset of Dark Ritual & Gloom. Aggresive mulling, and I'm pretty sure he will have a very hard time even casting anything. Very extreme though. LOL
I would do red black with heartless summoning I would think.

Basically if it was destroyed and it regenerates. If an opponent casts a spell that could destroy it, does it still stay on the battlefield or is it exiled?
EDIT: Oh and what about cards that add mana to your pool? For example, a card can add 3 mana to your pool; can you decide what color/type they are, or are they 'colorless'?

The wall stays in play as long as you are able to pay the mana to regenerate it (as well with any other creature with regenerate).
If something exiles it or removes it from the game, regenerating it will not save it.
As far as the mana being added, it depends on the card because there are cards that do both.
Black lotus added 3 of any single color. Others will say only colorless. With these the card will always dictate.
I have a set, not really lookin for too much right now though.
The same people who can't stand Morrigan in UMvC3 are the same people who can't stand playing against Control.
(That having been said, Snapcaster/Geist/(Delver+Ponder) are absolutely ridiculous.)
Regeneration is a replacement effect, essentially a shield. If the creature would be destroyed by any means, the shield is broken and the creature is tapped but survives, remaining in play. Regeneration does not protect against 0 toughness (say, if that wall were given -4/-4, it would die), nor against exile (so something like Path to Exile will still rfg it).
The card will explicitly show what kind of mana it generates. So, something like Thran Dynamo only makes colorless, whereas Llanowar Elves only makes green mana. If you are given a choice (say with Horizon Canopy), you must choose between the options (so that will make a G or a W, but never a colorless).
I keep telling a friend of mine we should draft with the remaining Italian Legends packs in my local store but to no avail
The best control deck right now is more tap out than using counters. Tempo decks use mana leak but they only run them because otherwise titans fuck them up. The break out delver spirits deck at the PT only had 2 which is why they didn't win as there wolf run match up wasn't great
The problem is if they drop prime time (or any titan) the damage is already done.
For fairer creatures you are right, which makes the blue hate even weirder as there is no difference in countering the hero of blade hold (which you have to answer or you're probably dead) to doom blade. In fact you don't even need to leave mana up for doom blade you can do it after. I don't see what's more frustrating about having something countered to having it destroyed.
My opinion, since you mentioned Heartless Summoning?
Make a Rune-Scarred Demon - Heartless Summoning - Phyrexian Metamorph deck. You just chain one into another and end up pulling demons out of your ass. It's ridiculously fun.
As a casual deck B/W with tokens and the sacrificing Demons could be fun. There are a few new powerful black Demons that are below the curve with some conditions that shouldn't be hard to fill with Gather the Townsfolk and Lingering Souls.
Well, Titans are a mistake that shouldn't have been printed. I was only half joking when I said of the "Exile target Giant spell with converted mana cost 6" for phyrexian U.

LOL. I wish I could do that. My friend is a rager though. He rages when someone cast a Destroy Land on his Fertile-Grounded Superland because "no one in our group has something against that"...can't imagine how much he'd rage if I play Gloom, which'd be a pretty apparant way to hose him and him specifically.
I do like the idea behind, though. Demon, taxing, fits in the lore. Is there similar black or blue or red spells to taxes opponent that I could use and be less apparant about Angeldeckhating?
Unless I'm not seeing something here, to pull them out like that, I'd need the RS Demon out first, fetching a demon, then Metamorph it to redeem another demon...or another RS? I dunno. How is having the Metamorph there any different than going to fetch another RS Demon?
EDIT : Read up a tiny bit on it. Interesting. Phyrexian Metamorph is a wee bit expansive compared to Clone though!
Must have many use in the current meta. I'm only seeing Ravenous Demon as the one who specifically needs human to sacrifice. Demon of Death's Gate can make use of black creatures to come out faster. And then the usual Lord of the Pit-like-creatures that bones you unless you sacrifice someone at upkeep start.
Which leads me to Eon Hub instead, and that is brilliant as well!

Found out there is a Magic store not too far from me over in Liverpool (Scythe and Teacup gamer cafe). Relatively new place, but it looks pretty good. Would love to go next weekend for the Avacyn pre release and learn to play properly, but I just can't with real life stuff. Looking to go the 2013 core set events though!

I'm in Leeds, there is quite a big group around a comic shop here. They are doing 4 pre releases (one midnight friday, during the day on saturday sunday and THG on sunday afternoon). There was a GP in Manchester this weekend as well but I couldn't be bothered to get the train.

I'm guessing you aren't sticking to a specific block? This deck would be quite expensive but I figure I'd throw out an expensive option out there.

Ideally you would turn 1 : dark ritual, sinkhole, thoughtseize (or even better add a cabal ritual to hymn instead of thoughtseize). Opponent is now behind a land and two cards. Turn two heartless summoning, turn 3 remove your graveyard for a tombstalker or put out an ob nixilis/halo hunter/bloodgift demon. You have the power on the board and your opponent is playing from behind.
Now just go find an absurd amount of money and you can have this deck.
Also while I was in Seattle I found a store that had boosters from every single set from Unlimited up (with only a few gaps here and there). Went nuts and bought urza block, mirage block, ravnica block, and tempest block stuff. Got absolutely nothing except a rancor out of it lol. Oh well, boosters are always a gamble.

Dark Ascension Booster box about to go for £71 with postage on Ebay. If it wasn't for the impending release of Avacyn, I'd be grabbing that!

Edit: £71 is about $115. And I've read in the past of booster boxes in the States going for $100, which is just over £60! Booster boxes are normally £85!

Alright, so the last time I've played Magic, I was in high school, and pretty much just dabbled in it. A friend of mine at the time just gave me a bunch of cards to play with, and I just held onto them and never played that much. So I would like to sell them. The following is the list of cards that I have. I don't know what pack they are from (I haven't kept up with the game at all, and only started playing Magic 2012). I figure I would post if here in case any of you guys would like em.
Please keep in mind that I would like to try and sell everything at once if possible, and not just ship out a single card or so. Also keep in mind that these cards have been sitting in a box for over 15 years and have never been touched since then, which means they are in very good condition. That should give you an idea of what pack they are from I guess. I can take a picture of some of the higher priced ones if you wish.
I also have no idea how I would ship them considering I would like the cards to get to someone in the same condition they are in now.
Please let me know what you would pay for it since I have no idea what each one costs. If you say a reasonable price and I trust you won't rip me off, then it is fine. I just want to get rid of them, and hopefully have enough for Diablo 3

Nice! Whenever I start like that, I get cut off from green completely or something at that point, haha. Every time!
Ended up with absolutely no removal (except for a blasphemous act and an into the maw) , splashed white, and got my vorapede stolen from me twice for a round one loss, breaking my winstreak.... So yeah, that happened to me too.
