Vapor Snag > Unsummon unless this is supposed to be rotation proof.
Kind of questioning the Unsummon as well because it's more of a tempo card.

Alright, that's what I assumed but just wanted to check. It's a shame the don't sell those but I can see why they don't since they want money.

Pretty much! But if you want to win by milling, you're going to have far more success with a control shell than trying to race.
And if you wanted to make an even less competitive deck, you could pretty easily transition it to a Bant Turbofog deck. Pretty sure that's an even more infuriating archetype to play against.

I just completely destroyed that tournament @___@ Got two packs of m13 and the event deck with a Thragtusk in it for prizes!
I'd do a full tournament report, but every game went like this:

-combo is drawn-
-combos chain into each other-
-ulamog has been cast infinite times-
People were mostly playing aggro decks (Kaalia got me close to 0 once), and we emergency banned Survival of the Fittest to prevent combowhoring from happening this consistently. I had fun!
Now I have a 1k tournament this saturday, and grand prix in two weeks....

Basically that. We also have some house rules; we allow Scheherazade and Chaos Orb, and ban cards that get too degenerate.
Next time we do this I'm definitely playing a Scheherazade deck.... Probably Grand Arbiter.

So apparently I joined Magic Online before they handed out new player tickets for these Phantom Drafts. Bummer. Though I guess you can draft on Thursdays for just 5 tickets now? That is tempting. Oh wait, those are phantom too.

When they added these new player draft they also added this to the "Thursday Night Magic" thing they do on Thursday on MGO.

You can win 3 packs if you go 3-0. There is some price where I would do phantom draft even without prizes, but 10 bucks is not that price.
Phantom draft is pretty awesome. It keeps everyone honest and picking the best cards they can instead of rare drafting.
Not that I don't like to get a sweet mythic once in a while
But yeah, TNM is friggan awesome for people just getting started.
Honestly, most of us like long games, and until combo showed up in the meta, the two round tournaments lasted 3+ hours. I suggested the card, and people were excited as hell about subgames; probably because ending commander games on turn 4 isn't fun, even if it is for prize. The life loss also gives aggro a fighting chance in MP.
Wildly depends on playgroup though. I can see an all-combo or all-control playgroup getting really pissed about it, especially if the card is getting abused (copied multiple times, recurred infinitely, etc.)
Multiplayer ban list +survival -Shahrazad -Chaos Orb; two 4-player games, top 2 from each play another game, and the top two from that get entry fees in store credit in a 70/30 split.

That's what I thought. I don't care about keeping the cards, I mostly want to practice so I'll spend $5 over the cost of actually buying packs and drafting. $5 seems like a nice spot for that. Pretty cheap to have fun for most of the night.

That Animar deck sounds super solid. The only one I've gone up against has been pretty casual. Although it blew my Vish Kal deck out of the water for obvious reasons.
I sometimes think I like to build decks more than I like to play. Last week, I had two decks, this week, I have 4 completely different decks. I can't make up my mind on what I want to play. Its the best part about commander, you can just throw some good stuff together with a fun legend.

Most bots sell at about the same price, with one exception: PennyBot. It has nothing but super-common commons, but it sells them at one penny apiece - so 1 event ticket gets you 100 cards.

I went 2-1 last night on TNMO. Felt good to play 3 fun games and earn 2 booster and a promo for only 5 tix.
I went Bw with 3 Tormented Souls and just buffed him up. A few buff enchantments, some removal and protection and a few other chump blocker creatures. Easy wins.

I actually got to get into a Momir Basic queue last night. Went 1-2, and I don't even care because it was just too much fun.

Yup. My problem is, I'm not much of a collector. I want to nab some of the cards out of these for Commander or Legacy decks, so the higher price tag becomes a lot more difficult to justify since the cards won't appreciate as much in value.
