I hate when people have to know that they are beat, yet they still take five minutes to count everything up and read everything over and over.
(Re current match on SCG)
If you are playing in a tourney like this, you know what the cards do and you should already be aware of what can happen before it happens.
Protip you may think that you are looking mysterious and keeping your opponent guessing what you had in your hand, reality is that you look like an assclown because if you could have stopped it you would have.

ATTENTION COMIKAZE ATTENDANTS! THERE ARE STILL SLOTS OPEN FOR THE ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I was wearing headphones....

Eh, I agree to some extent. If you're just dead on board that's one thing but you can definitely bluff people into bad decisions. It's when they take 20 minutes that it becomes problematic but just doing it in and of itself isn't terrible, only if you really draw it out like some do.

I've been piloting BR zombies for four months, and personally I am glad it has blown up, especially when it stomps Delver.

Get used to it, because you're going to start seeing BR zombies, BG zombies, AND Jund zombies very soon.

Tehee.

I've been playing U/B zombies, Monoblack zombies and G/B zombies for quite a while. For a while, I was the lone zombie player in a sea of delvers at the LCS around here. Then they just blew up. Now I'm not a unique and special snowflake. :(

That's okay. People mock my G/B zombie deck now. But just you wait...THE SWARM WILL CONSUME YOUR SOUL

One deck dominating is boring, I agree. But at least in my opinion, B/R Zombies is far more interesting than Delver ever has been.

Did the kid with the afro playing the White Human deck play again today after his first match? Was at work for the past 5 hours.

I would much rather watch Delver than watch Zombies. Sacrilege I know, but it's true.

The truth is that people just hate whatever's on top. I remember at Pro Tour Dark Ascension, people were cheering for the Delver decks to beat the Titan decks because people hated the Titans so much. Back then, Delver was the good guy. Oh how the tides turned...

Die a hero, or so we can get back up again, Bruce. Why so serious?

Nah man, I've always disliked Delver.

And the worst thing about Titans, in my opinion, is that they warped peoples' expectations in terms of what a creature should be and do. They upped the bar far too high. I mean for crying out loud, the term "Titan Test" was widely used for quite some time. They were too powerful, and now people expect the same power level or more going forward...and we probably won't get that. It was a mistake to reprint them a second time, anyway.

The thing about Delver is it is one of those decks that you can REALLY tell who has netdecked it and who made it their own even if they did take a core from an existing template.

To be fair, I'm noticing a lot of that with all decks. You get a good feeling for who really knows what they're playing and who is just running a pilot program.

I have never ever seen anybody else run my variety of U/B zombies, for instance. It always catches people off guard when I pull the surprise cards (2 of em) that I've never seen run IRL or on MTGO.

It's the same with any deck, I think. Some people are just smooth and knowledgeable. Some make just straight stupid ass mistakes.

I wanna learn how to gather magic.

Okay, well, you're going to want my Intro to Magic book series. It starts off at a very generous $99.00 a month plan, and based on the amount of magic you gather, there are numerous tiers to suit your usage needs. Paypal only.

Real?
Hmmmmm.
From SCG facebook.
Naaaaaaasty.

I see three possible Jund variants:

Hasty Jund: Dreg Mangler, Flinthoof Boar, Falkenrath Aristocrat, Thundermaw Hellkite, etc.
Midrange Jund: Huntmaster, Thragtusk, Olivia Voldaren, Wolfir Silverheart, Vampire Nighthawk, Rakdos, etc.
Zombie Jund: Gravecrawler, Geralf's Messenger, Lotleth Troll, Slitherhead, Dreg Mangler.

All of which use burn spells, Rancor, Abrupt Decay, etc.

Depending on how hasty jund's manabase goes, they may want Ash Zealot

Falkenrath Aristocrat is THE main reason to splash red in zombies.

I don't know, I think just having access to burn is reason enough. Even just watching the matches today on SCGLive, I don't think I saw any Aristocrats. She's great in the deck, but I don't think you need it.

I really liked Patrick Sullivan's BR Zombies. Didn't have any Blood Artists, and I'm pretty sure it had no Aristocrats either.

Just pulled a foil Omniscience in a pack. I'll never use it, but DAMN is it pretty. Imagine this:

But foil.

Funny thing is I commented on how much I liked the foil Omniscience at my local shop the other day. Dat fate.

Edit: Holy shit, it's a $20 card...lawl.

There is a legacy deck that wants it. I imagine durdley EDH decks as well.

Not sure about Rakdos, seems hard to get too much value out of his ability with the creatures you would play in b/r.

Yeah, it's nuts.

Show and Tell into Omniscience. Now you can actually cast your Emrakul, which means you get that extra turn. Or, just Burning Wish for Petals of Insight. Cast it over and over again until your storm count is way high, then cast it until you can draw another Burning Wish for Grapeshot.

It's a crazy deck. Turns out that even though people like to bitch about Force of Will, Legacy would be positively broken without it.

EDIT: Sample decklist: http://www.mtgdecks.net/decks/view/37205

There are some cards where foil really adds to the art. I don't remember the name now, but there was some card where the art had a tower covered in glyphs and the foil made them pop out like it was 3D.

And yeah show and tell got a huge boost with omniscience and to a lesser extent griselbrand. Feeling quite good about trading a foil snapcaster for two show and tells all those months ago.

After months of ponderous tinkering, I have decided to finally break my GW Humans down into Mono W Humans.

Previously, the only green cards I even used were Avacyn's Pilgrim and Mayor of Avabruck. A turn 2 Mayor after a turn 1 Champion of The Parish was always a great play for me. But I want to just go pure white, mainly because I want to just streamline my mana and overall play.

So, here's what the deck was earlier today:
previous decklist said:
Creatures
3x Avacyn's Pilgrim (g)
4x Champion of the Parish (w)
3x Elite Inquisitor (ww)
4x Thalia, Guardian of Thraben (1w)
4x Silverblade Paladin (1ww)
2x Mentor of the Meek (2w)
3x Odric, Master Tactician (2ww)
3x Angelic Overseer (3ww)

Spells
2x Divine Deflection (xW)
3x Honor of the Pure (1w)
3x Obilivion Ring (2w)

Mana
2x Cavern of Souls
2x Gavony Township
4x Sunpetal Grove
10x Plains
5x Forest

Here's what it is now:

I switched the Avacyn's Pilgrims out for Doomed Travelers. I feel like the Travelers will give the deck some extra reach with early flyers especially helpful in chumping flipped Delvers before the next newest addition hits the field...

...Angel of Jubilation. She provides a much needed lord effect now that Mayor has been removed, is a solid flyer, and while her other ability isn't always relevant I think it will be helpful more often than not. Especially considering my local meta...zombies, pod, and delver for days guys. I removed Odric for Angel of Jubilation. I love Odric, but he's just too slow and I don't often get use out of his ability with him more often than not just being a big fat first striker for me. Jubilation at least provides cover from the air, lords over my whole team, and shuts down a bunch of decks in my meta.

Finally, I removed Mayor of Avabruck and simply dissolved his numbers into other members of the deck. 1) A third Divine Deflection, which is super useful. Killin' Thragtusks all day long. 2) 2 main deck Fiend Hunters. Now, these were sideboard cards (and I still have a third in the sideboard at this time), but again due to my local meta I deem them necessary for mainboard nowadays. Between 3 O-Rings and 2 Hunters I can pretty much lock down what I need to in order to swing in for damage.

In a few weeks I'm going to have to look over this again due to Honor of the Pure's rotation...which I'm not looking forward to. Mirran Crusader was fine, I took him out long ago in favor of Silverblade Paladins (Crusader coming in for G/B matchups). But losing HotP is gonna hurt. I may have to go back to GW when it rotates, for Mayor's lord effect once again :/

Anyway, I'm going to run this build on Friday at my shop and see how I fair. I went 2-2 a few days ago at FNM with the previous build.

I missed my first FNM because my friend was visiting for a concert. Next week I guess!

The only standard deck I have right now is an M13 starter deck, but I don't want to get into editing it until the new set comes out. Hopefully the guys at the Uni Mtg club I will be goign to can help me out a bit.

Looks pretty solid. If Riders of Gavony was 1 mana less, it would be amazing in this deck...heh.

Haha yeah. I've tried to fit them in. I would probably just rather drop the angel at this point though. I'm eager to see how she plays out in the deck. Overseer is just nuts though. I've won just about every game she's ever seen play in. Even when my opponents Day the field she sticks around for more beats, and gets her buff the next human I drop. So good.

Except last Friday when my opponent Dayed and then activated his Ratchet Bomb at 5 and killed her. Heh.

Sweet, I just pulled that foil Omniscience. Who wants it? I'll part with it for, say, $100 starting price.

im at work, so what actually happened?

Apparently some kind of nutty brew involving show & tell, hypergenesis and omniscience.

Oh god someone is playing a...

... deck on camera.... lol

EDIT: God Legacy is the most boring thing ever to watch. Land. Crack land. Brain storm. Counter brain storm. Counter counter brainstorm. Counter counter counter brainstorm. 20 minutes later, turn 2.

Know and tell adds some spice. But yeah. Blue is in literally every deck played. It's absurd and frankly, unfixable.

This is actually a deck I'm considering for the Invitational.
