Announcement Day/Worlds almost makes up for football being on international break.
Where would you guys recommend to start in becoming a better player? Aside from just playing the game a lot, which I do. I guess I want to figure out how to look at things and where I should be looking for information to be better player. I've met a few players who are 'part-time pros' that have jobs and lives but still manage to place well in GPs and PTs, I'd love to be able to get there one day.
It just sucks in every regard.
Antrazi was wrong. No excuses. I don't think anyone is disagreeing with that. Once you acknowledge that, then the waters get murky.
It all becomes a matter of personal opinion at this point. I know that if this happened to me, I wouldn't be pushing for more punishment, given Antrazi's apparent (and I believe honest) regret. I would work with him to find a way to use this situation for future education and try to prevent incidents of similar situations. You know, turn someone who was once ignorant into an advocate and ally, making something positive out of something negative.
He'll have to fight an incredibly high number of people on that one. (he'll never win)Un set three, gimme MaRo!
If you have to ask....
I don't remember a lot of people arguing against mechanic E, but I do remember pushing it way early on.
Un set three, gimme MaRo!
pls no vrynSomeone mentioned on Maro's blog they had a theory that the 10 blocks following Origins would be the planes in Origins. So far they are right.
I mean it seems inevitable to me that they would eventually go there.pls no vryn
The weapons of the gods in Theros are artifact enchantments. We could see the first Artifact Enchantment with "Esper Ascendancy." And Naya could finally get an actual theme.

A we know is that it was a mechanic originally designed for the original Mirrodin set, and that it uses a special symbol (like tap, mana costs, etc do).
He's mentioned it several times over the years as something he really wanted to put on a set, and we will finally see it in Kaladesh.
Years ago, Rosewater did a theme article about letters. One thing he did was list what each letter meant in R&D terms. Most of them fell into two categories: either they represented a symbol that appears on cards, or a frame type that represented a color or card type. However, one, the letter "E," had the following:
"Used to represent a mechanic in Mirrodin that got cut during design. R&D likes it and we plan to find a home for it someday. (In fact, it's shown up in at least one other design.)"
(We later learned that it was cut in part because it took up a lot of card and mind space in the set, and was replaced with Entwine.)
Since then, we heard later that they tried this mechanic in Esper, then that it was being tentatively tested in a future block, then that Kaladesh was bringing back a mechanic Maro had been trying to get into sets for ages (which a 2003 mechanic like E matched up to), and then now finally we got it confirmed.
There's been a lot of speculation about what this mechanic is, since normally any keyword mechanic would just be represented by a code keyword. The fact that it's a letter means it must be a visual element of the card, and one that can't properly be conveyed using a word -- so almost certainly a symbol of some kind. (The same article referred to a mechanic called "Q," which turned out to be the untap symbol from Shadowmoor.) It really seemed to line up that the colorless mana symbol in OGW was "E," but that was confirme to be incorrect, so... now we're still not sure what this will actually look like.
I'd enjoy an Alara Rebroken. Give each shard a proper Ascendancy and Command/Charm (like we've discussed before).

I can envision the filth now:What if Vryn is Kaladesh in the past or far future? Like a big twist and Jace is actually hundreds of years old or a time traveller.
Do you guys think we'll get 2 supplemental sets in 2017 like we did this year w eternal masters and conspiracy 2?
The story seems to be hinting at Return to Return to Ravnica, but it's possible that they're just reestablishing Vraska for her to appear in Aether Revolt.
Other than pirate, Egyptian, and Viking planes that have already been mentioned, I believe a fairy tale and dinosaur world was also being hinted at by Maro.
Perhaps return to Alara or Dominaria?
Someone mentioned on Maro's blog they had a theory that the 10 blocks following Origins would be the planes in Origins. So far they are right.
I really wish the Return to Dominaria was a supplemental set. Dominaria Masters. Shitload of cool reprints, no Jacetice League, new Legacy legal cards, a mess of keywords, kind of a non-apocalyptic Time Spiral. Ahhh dreaming is fun.
No humans on Lorwyn makes it unrelatable.I'm still waiting for a Return to Kamigawa without parasitic mechanics, a normal power level and no Saviors.
Because we need more Ninjutsu cards and more spirits.
Also why would you do a fairy tale setwhen you already have Lorwyn? That's Fairy Fales and Folk Tales: The Plane

This would be cool, too.More than going back to Dominaria, I really hope we get a return to Jamuraa. As best I can tell, it's been sealed away since Invasion by Teferi, unless it got brought back for no reason in Time Spiral block.
Mirage block still has my favorite art direction in the history of the game.
Actually, Lorwyn is Celtic Folklore, not Fairytales. Fairytales would be Brother's Grimm, so you'd have Rapunzel, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, etc.
No humans on Lorwyn makes it unrelatable.
So just lamer folklore? I'm extremely excited.
DISNEY PRINCESS TRIBAL OR RIOTFairy tale block gets you all the top-down cards you make to appeal to the Fables/Once Upon A Time/Into The Woods audience. It wouldn't really play out all that much like Lorwyn I think, especially since I doubt you'd do a strong tribal theme.

Humor doesn't translate, you can't play with the cards outside of draft, it won't sell as well as literally any other new booster product they do.
