Is anyone actually doing anything about this shit online service? Because voicing your opinion on a forum isn't going to work. We need to get a petition going. I'm serious. This is downright unacceptable for a paid service.

Tweet Sony executives politely about the issue. Petitions aren't effective.

I turn mine off. Storms, power cuts etc. It is plugged into a surge protector but you never know. I take no chances.

Plus it doesn't take that much longer to boot, by the time the TV is on and switched to the input it is basically booted or finished telling me I might get epilepsy and I play close enough to play wired, so charging controllers isn't an issue for me.

I honestly just think those statements are just PR at this point. They can't be making any significant improvements if the network has trouble during a simple update.

I don't see how their OS or PSN team find this at all acceptable and I don't know why Sony hasn't done jack shit to fix it or lay out a plan on how they will improve it.

Yup, same thing is happening with me so I'm just hitting "power off" instead of "enter rest mode". Really frustrating that it doesn't work now and I'm just hoping it gets fixed quickly.

The PSN isn't "down". The PS Store is under maintenance.

I think that's just a default message when there is too much load on the server. I doubt there was any planned maintenance.

A damn shame really. Not only is Sony being VERY quiet about the whole DriveClub thing. They never publicly come out and say anything about this common issue.

This Holiday will be a massacre for the PSN servers and will expose them for how horrible they are.

PS Store isn't available, but I can't access my friend list and all the games I tried. Diablo 3, TLOU:R, UFC, FIFA 15, etc are not working online at all. PSN are having regional issues it seems.

If it is a big issue or not for those affected is another matter.

Considering how terrible they have been around community communication thus far I wouldn't hold my breath. You're right though, Sony should elaborate on what their plans are for improving the service, especially in the coming months where there will be a LOT more users beating on their service.

Why are you making excuses for them? Listen. I love the Playstation brand. I love the Playstation 4 and the games it offers.

But there is no denying that PSN is their weakest link. We're paying money for this now and it needs to be on par with Xbox Live. That includes reliability. MS rarely has issues with their service.

I'm calling it like I see it. PSN needs HUGE improvements. The problem is we don't know if Sony is ever going to address these issues. The past 2 months have been pretty damn spotty for PSN. Sony has never made a general comment addressing these constant issues.
