Major PS4 System Software Update v2.0 Available NOW

So... my clock has been fucked for the last couple of weeks. About 9-10 minutes ahead. Funny thing is, my system clock is ahead, but messages arrive with the correct timestamp - so even the most recent messages will say "received 10 minutes ago" or something of the sort.

This isn't a 2.0 problem, but the fact it hasn't been fixed (and I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere else) makes me think I might be the only one with this issue!

Sounds like a problem trying to sync with the time server.

Do you have it set to automatically set the time?

I have had this problem for a while also. Strange enough, after the OS update last night, it was correct finally. No idea if I just noticed it or if it really was related.

I can connect a controller and the Wireless Headset is sending a signal to the console, but no picture is output to the TV and the lightbar on the console simply "throbs" whilst still orange.

Eject game disc before put your ps4 in rest mode, it works for me and my friends

Yeah, I am disappointed in the lack of customization in this generation of consoles.

Hopefully It'll randomly fix itself for me too cD It doesn't really bother me that much tbh, but its such a weird bug...
 
My favorite feature in this update is that the last letter of my name no longer gets replaced with "..." in notifications.

heh, it bothered me as I often used my PS4 clock to let my son know it was bedtime and he'd call me out for being wrong ;p
 
Ever since I updated to 2.0, I can't seem to go online on Driveclub anymore. It just says that I have to login to PSN, which I'm sure I was.

Anyone knows if it was down for maintenance or something yesterday? I could access PS Store just fine and I even downloaded The Unfinished Swan.

Yah it is a strange one for sure... my experience last night->

Updated last night when I got home, grabbed a couple themes, Costume Quest 2 for the wife, looked at some of the new features, wife played CQ2 for a couple hours, I ejected Diablo3, put in my newly bought Drive Club disc, played a few hours, put it in rest mode with controller > powered it back on with no issues using controller > put it in rest mode using voice commands > powered back on with controller. All working 100% for me, even got youtube installed and linked after a few attempts. (East Coast USA for what its worth)

Was playing DC for the first time last night between 9p and 11p (-5GMT). Not sure how it normally works, but I did connect in single player with occasional messages that it lost connection and eventually regained it.
 
Finally linked YouTube, hopefully things are settling down now.
I'm liking the update so far and foundations are being laid for good stuff in the future.

I've had this problem. The time would creep up about 10 min ahead also. I set the 'get time from internet' switch and that fixed my problem.
 
How has everyone's share play experiences been going so far? I was able to share play a friends dynasty warriors game for about a half an hour with no hiccups what so ever. It was a pretty smooth experience the only downer is the blurry 720p res other then that it was a very cool innovative feature to experience. We also tried to share play FFXIV but got some region locked message. He said he was able to share play FFXIV with a friend earlier but it wouldn't work when we tried.

.You can set how long to charge your controller or devices when the console is in standby so it won't be always on or always off.
.Massive Audio Improvement To Party Chat
.In Game Sessions section in the Friend List
.If you watch a Twitch stream on the PS4 you can use emotes such as Kappa.
.Now you can "force" to look for update on games. If you click "Options"-button their now is a choice that says "Look for updates"
.When watching Live Streams, now you can browse through the list without stopping the broadcast you were currently watching. It will minimize it to a thumbnail while you are on the list.
.You can use chroma key for camera when streaming, stream party chat, move the camera on the overlay, and sub from live from playstation
.If you hover over the party icon (on the home screen), existing parties will cycle through the members so you can see who is in it without having to even click the icon.
.When downloading an application/game, if you press on the app tile, instead of showing a progress bar with the percentage completed, it now shows the amount downloaded/total amount to load game with an estimated time for completion.
.The PS4 camera can now do chroma key(green screen) in streams. This way you can cut out the background of the video.
.Mouse can be used now
.Twitch Icons are now compatible with Live From Playstation
.You can edit your overlay and move the face cam position during streaming

I'm guessing that "Mouse can be used now" means with the browser? That's pretty cool.
 
So since the update when I use the rest mode or whatever it is called now the yellow light comes on like the before but now it tends to fade in and out, the fan stays in a low spinning state and I can't turn the system back on unless I unplug it plug it back in and connect a controller to the system and press the PS button. I am guessing that is not normal.

Edit: I see it is happening to other people.

Played some FIFA with my friend. I shared, for me the Game looked like always, he says that apart from the 720P and a little bit of input lag it looked and played very good.

Tried to play some AC but got some Age restriction issues, couldn't get past it, tried FIFa then.
 
I have an important question for those of us who buy from the US store but are based in the UK and play on oyr EU accounts.

Does doing this impact share play at all? Will content be blocked from shareplay because it is bought from another account? If so thats a huge HUGE disappointment to me.

That's how it normally, works, yes. Kinda hope Sony and Evolution makes up for this in some way, like give us some new cars or something.

Those are pretty good little changes.
 
So, I plugged my wireless USB dongle into my PS4 to test out my mouse with the web browser, but it only recognises my keyboard. Anyone have a fix for this?

Managed to SharePlay my US bought games on my EU account fine yesterday.

This is noticeably more compressed that what I've to expect out of 720p youtube videos. So it wasn't completely Facebook issue like I initially assumed. But I'll still take it over the alternative.
 
My experience last night:

Install update- no problems
Play with the playroom for 20 minutes and place the console into rest mode.
Come back 2 hours later and try to wake the console with the controller.
I get stuck in Orange Throb of death, controller light is solid white.
I hold the power button for about 30-40 seconds and console shuts down.
Does the HDD check and resumes.

Everything seems fine now, I jump into the PlayStation store(which was doing surprisingly well for a Tuesday) Pre-ordered Advanced Warfare, once completed I hopped back to the tiles to see if it gave me a window for Cod (like destiny did) but it did not and when I started scrolling my console froze and shut down. [Queue Heart Attack]

Hit the power button.....Nothing
Had to hit it two more times and finally it came on.
Did the HDD check and resumed no issues.

All was well after that, SharePlay was neat. My friend and I did Towerfall with little lag when I hosted (5 Mbps up) Got kicked when he hosted (1Mbps up) Definitely a great new feature! Dynamic Themes are fun, much cooler than I thought. The clicking the PS home button when notifications pop works great.

Bring on the stability updates!

YouTube compresses the shit out of 720P sourced videos. If you want it to look better the source needs to be 1080P.

Its worse than Facebook compression since Facebook upgraded their video bandwidth this last year.

That did not work for me. I had to boot into safe mode and select Initialize (not the one that requires firmware reinstallation) and start from scratch. Logged back in as myself and re-downloaded all my games (I have no data cap and 75/75) so no big deal. Once done, I am able to use the Rest option with no problems. Did it about 5 times within 30 minutes always having a disc in. Also tried various situations such as running a game and just selecting Rest while the game is running and etc... May be the only way to fix it until Sony releases a patch. Obviously something didn't install correctly. Sony's recommendation for 4 and 5 on the safe boot menu did not work for me several times.

Is it possible to close the window of the stream? It's going to get annoying having it being in the corner while you search for other videos. You can just back out and enter again but that's an extra unnecessary step.
